Do you have a favorite color, or maybe a style that involves multiple colors? What's your favorite polish brand? Or do you prefer to have your nails done for you at a salon?

Do you like to make designs on your nails? I want to see pictures!

I usually stick with red since it's flattering to my skin tone and hair n' stuff. But I've recently come to realize pink does the same, and it's not so bad. I do really like to do my nails black or a dark blue/teal, too. It's just kind of the opposite of flattering for me, lol. I also LOVE glittery polishes.

I haven't been to a nail salon in over six years. I'm not a fan of acrylics, and I can paint my own nails really well. I have like a hundred polishes (thanks to my gramma) so it's silly for me to have them done, especially since I chip them in a day, lol.

I like painting my nails, but my nails do not like being painted. Every time I try, it always ends with my nails drying out and peeling/breaking.

My toenails can handle it, though. It dries them out too, but not as severely, and they're thick so they can take it. During sandal season, I keep them constantly painted, switching out colors every week or two.

My favorite brand is Wet N' Wild Megalast. It's ridiculously cheap and lasts like craaaazy. On my toes, it can last months, and lasts a bit over a week on my finger nails. My favorite colors from that line for my toes are On a Trip (it's more purple than it looks in the picture), Undercover, and I Need a Refresh-Mint. For my nails, I really like Sugarcoat. The only downfall to the brand is that their color selection is pretty limited. They've got about a dozen colors and that's it.

I'm always wearing nail polish. I've gotten where I change colors weekly. It's really rare for me to wear reds, I usually wear purples or pinks. I think I'll do red for this coming week.

I really like to do patterns or designs, but I'm horrible at it most of the time. xP

My favourite colour is definitely dark blue. But my nails are thin and weak and if I paint them, it's not many weeks before they're peeling and flaking. Also, polish that doesn't chip the first day I go to work has so far never happened because my job involves manual stuff that destroys manicures fast.

But this does not stop me from buying polish, oh no

My favourite colour =3

That's Opi - Blue my mind. I've had to thin it with top coat because it's going gloopy, and I have to work up to using a dark shade again anyway. Because it's so much easier to make a horrible mess of it

A go to of mine when I haven't worn any for a while is this one.
Catherine Arley - #672

It's neutral but still super pretty, the biggest selling point for me though is this stuff is super easy to apply, you can go back over areas without it causing dragging, so it's perfect for someone like me, who's never developed much skill in the first place, and who can only wear polish sporadically anyway because of what it/remover does to her nails.

Teal's your favourite, Hummy? Well knock me down with a feather xDD

I have some teally polishes Let me find some pics of them on Google...
Opi ~ Austintatious turquoise Click on thumbnail for full view

Maybelline colorama ~ jelly bean Click on thumbnail for full view

Maybelline ~ Aqua electric Click on thumbnail for full view
Every picture of the last one looks blue, I think camera flashes leach the green out of it.

I do like Opi polish, good quality polish and very nice brushes! Rubbish brushes are the bane of my life because I'm not the most skilled nail painter : /

I've done similar, using an Opi brush for a cheap polish. This is why the brush for my bottle of base coat is stained hot pink

That's strange, because my nails feel healthier wearing nail polish than without. Your nails not liking it seems more understandable though!

Jelly: I really like that neutral shimmery shade. I don't have anything like that but it is definitely one that I would wear a lot if I did. Where do you get Catherine Arley ones from? I don't think I've heard of it.

At the moment I have just been impressed by Rimmel Lasting Finish and Rimmel 60 Second nail polishes. They go on really easy with a maxi/wide brush and I just like them in general.

I tried one Maybelline one which was a teal (the colour show ones) and it stained my nails like mad! The second time I tried it over a base coat and it just seemed to have gone gloopy and hard to apply. I don't feel keen to venture in the Maybelline ones anymore but I've never tried their Express Finish ones that they have always had. What do you think of that one that you posted Jelly?

lunanuova:

The Elizabeth Arley stuff is a new brand, I got it on Ebay, from a girl in...somewhere in Eastern Europe. I've not seen it in any UK shops.

The Maybelline ones weren't bad, it's a long time since I used any of them, so I can't really remember. The colorama bottles are bloody horrible for stability, got to say.

I love nail polish. My nails are usually very weak so polish gives them a little strength and I love the colours!

Right now my love is actually a Nicole by OPI colour. It's this adorable yellow and the series is called Gumdrop, and it looks like those gumdrop candies with the sugar, except on nails it sparkles. Probably the easiest sparkly nail polish to remove. My sister found it once and hasn't been able to find it again in any colour.
Seriously google it, the colours are fantastic.

OPI has always been my favorite brand. I love their colours and brushes.

I often do my nails in alternating colours or I'll take a polish with a thin brush and do swirls or fake french tips. I love painting my nails white and using a black polish for the tip.

Jelly, I love that sparkly neutral one! I prefer neutral shades on my fingers, so now I'm really tempted.

I agree, Cherry. Though, jelly, the real question is how many coats did it take to be opaque? If it's more than two then I'm out

Hmm, that I can't remember. So I'd guess at maybe 2, and definitely not more than 3, or I would have remembered. Most polish I only put 2 coats on, unless it's a dark one and needs that 3rd coat to make up for my less than skillful application

I love that Catherine color too, jelly! So pretty!

re: good value for your dollar - I've been getting Sally Hansen "Complete Salon Manicure" polishes for about $6 a bottle here, and though there aren't a whole lot of shades compared to some of the more expensive brands, it's wonderful polish. The polish is nice and thick, dries fast, and holds up as well as (or better than, in some cases) other brands I've tried. It's got a wide brush, which makes painting my right hand super easy. Also, one coat is enough for most colors I have, so I'm less likely to get impatient and mess up my paint job before it's dry.

I like Sally Hansen I've tried quite few of their polishes and they are pretty good for a reasonably priced brand. I particularly like the HD stuff It's a little thin and looks best with 3 coats minimum, and I don't like the combination of unstable bottle shape, long brush and lid that's not the easiest/most comfortable to hold, but the blue and purple shades are awesome.

This is LASER

I LOVE the laser colour, it's one of those ones where I find myself distracted by my nails and just looking at them at random. Particularly when sunlight catches them. OOOH SHINY!

The best one (for me) is CYBER though. I've not worn that on its own, but if you look at my 2 uploads before that on Poupee (click the orange arrow at the top right) you can see the fun I had playing with layering these polishes ><

Whoa, I don't think I've ever seen HD stuff here. I like how tiny the glittery bits are. You do well with the blue tints*, I always feel like they make my skin look vaguely undead.

* I mean your poupee pics, I see that the above aren't your fingers ;D

I do like how the dark blue shades look with my skin. I find myself wanting to paint my nails >< But I'm not sure if I dare. While I'm off work it's the ideal time as it wouldn't be chipping immediately, but I can guarantee that I'd not be able to manage my right hand because I don't have the full grip/dexterity in my left hand. So I'd only piss myself off if I tried to do them, I'm pretty sure, especially as it's a blue that I want to do them. ><

I painted my nails black yesterday and my husband was like, "It's awful, you look goth or something!" -_- I love black. *sigh* So I threw some glitter on those b's. :) He likes them better now. I loved the first photo, but I added the second one for more of the real color effect. Though, my bathroom lighting doesn't quite do them justice. *shrugs*

Oh my gosh...nail porn.

I love those vibrant colors with the HD paint. I am fixing to get myself a bottle of that stuff!!

I am a nail polish junkie and I love trying out the newest gimmick in formulas. My most recent purchases was a set of neon colors form Opi and also a bottle of liquid sand by Opi. The sand dries matte and is gorgeous. I will have to dig out a picture of it. The neon is not my favorite. They're very water and require a white basecoat for it to really pop. Opi usually have some phenomenal polishes, but this series really didn't impress me much. I should dig them out and take pictures.

Yes pictures! I love neons, but I have the same problem. If I have to put a white coat and two neon coats, it's not for me. I don't have the time and I have a three year old. My nails get ruined before the first neon coat ever dries.

I like that black/glitter combo! Really nice glitter!

The liquid sand polishes look to die for, I'm conflicted by them hugely, because I cannot stand Mariah Carey But the blue/gold bottle that I saw... I would put top coat on it, I'll admit, but I'm not sure I can get past it being her and actually buy some
