Shadow smiled "okay but I am surprised your not afraid of me"

"Heck, it's not what's in your eyes, even if your eyes are the window to the soul. It's what you care about. And anyway, who cares what your eyeball looks like? Your probably good at hunting, or fighting, or healing." She looked him in the eye. "See, I don't flinch. and I'm-" she caught herself. "I barely know you."

"true you do hardly know me" Shadow said with a smile

Hazel was relieved. She said, "Come on, let's claim some territory before someone else does."

Shadow nodded "yes let us go."

Hazel led the way to a small clearing by a brook. "I live here. there isn't any territory for many leaps across, and it is filled with prey." she said, taking a sip from the brook.

Shadow looked around "this place is nice" he siad with a smile

"It's good that you like it, I don't have anything else." she blushed. ((can wolves blush?)) "I'm hungry. The deer you saw me eating, it's sort of gone now."

Shadow smiled "well then lets go hunting" and sniffed the air to see if any deer were near by

Hazel liked this wolf. It was almost like he had no will of his own. If she said, catch me a buck, he'd say, I will catch you a buck! It's weird. Hazel thought. she liked a wolf with at least a little will of his own.

Shadow did not find deer sent but a different sent. The sent smelled of old blood, rage and it was close. Shadow looked at Hazel and said " i will be right back" Then shot off into the forest in the direction of the smell.

Hazel looked at where he dissapeared and shrugged. She was hungry, and she smelled a big rabbit. She crept up on the rabbit, carefully, carefully. Then she pounced. She jumped a little to far to the right and missed.

Shadow had taken off into the forest and was headed towards something that smelled of blood. When he got closer he slowed down and crept closer. He soon saw a hunter and he was headed towards Hazel. He growled and then howled a warning to Hazel, then started to run back towards her.

Hazel cursed her bad luck. "Of course it had to be my eye..." she stopped as she heard a growl. "Shadow, Shadow, is that you?" she asked nervously. She headed toward the growl, out of the hunter's range.

Shadow was still running back and when he got back to where he left Hazel he did not see her. He looked around franticly and yelled "Hazel where are you" afraid that the hunter had gotten to her

Hazel thought she heard something. "Shadow, your scaring me if you are there." she said, poking the bush. She heard her call her name, and wondered why it sounded so urgent. He saved you from the hunter trap. an inner voice recalled. She looked around frantically and tried to find him. "Shadow, what's wrong?" she called, nervous.

Shadow was glad when her heard her and relaxed a tiny bit. "yes there is a hunter headed this way" he yelled back "get out of here I will lead him away"

Hazel shot off into the woods, hoping Shadow would be alright. She broke off and stopped. she was standin on the edge of a cliff. She could see the entire forest from here. "wow" she breathed. "If only I could see all of it." she turned her head so she could see.

Shadow gave a howel and the hunter started to follow him away from Hazel. He did not want to get her hurt and hoped the hunter did not catch on

Hazel heard Shadow howl and tried to find it in the forest. She was standing right there and any hunter could get her. "Oh, I hope he's ok." she said. "Oh he'll be fine." a voice said behind her.

Shadow soon lead the hunter far enough away and managed to get away from him. Then started to run back to Hazel

Hazel spun around and saw a rouge wolf standing in the bushes. He took a step forward and she took a step back. Forward. Back. Her foot slipped on the edge of the cliff. She glanced down and saw a big lake. The rouge took a step forward. "Your on my land." he growled. "I'm sorry! I'll leave right now-" She was cut off. "No one who trespasses on my land leaves alive." he growled. Her foot slipped on the edge of the cliff.

Shadow was following Hazels sent when he saw her and the rouge. He growled deeply and ramed the rouge in the side and yelled "get away from her." he stood inbetween the rouge and Hazel. He growled deeply and did not take his eyes off of him

Hazel thought she felt something under her. "Shadow-" she said, but was broken off by the rougue's growl.

Shadow just growled back
