Thank you, I really appreciate this thread ^__^
but still, I have a question!
That is, can you get an RP intro from another site, and not made by me. I mean, I ask the permission of the player, & write the plot again by me. Is that allowed?

So long as there's permission and it's rewritten completely, not just odd wordings because otherwise it'd still be considered plagiarism.

I have a question: What's the best way to promote a new roleplay without breaking Menewha's rules (i.e. announcing it in hangout threads then disappearing)?

I just posted it in the Roleplay Requests forum, but is there another way?

You can post the link in your signature so it's advertised wherever you post. It isn't considered advertising that way.

Thank you so much for this guide. I am an old roleplayer. Sorely out of practice. Very rusty. This was a good refresher. Hopefully I'll gather up the courage to try and roleplay again.

Thanks for the helpful tips. While not a "seasoned pro" at this I used to do texting RP's when kh-2.net/forums still existed before Kingdom Hearts 2 came to U.S. shores. I stopped after that though. This was a nice refresher course though, so thanks again!

Most of the things you mentioned I had learned when I started out on AOL. There were two or three things though I hadn't heard of or considered. This is a great guide!

I have a question! :D
If I want to have a role play closed because my partner has suddenly up and disappeared from Mene, or closed an account or whatnot, which Moderater must I contact about asking them to lock up the thread? Or do I need to do that at all? I assume I do, since I've seen it done before.

You don't have to lock it, but if you wish to you can PM any online moderator or just report the first post of the thread requesting the thread locked. Any mod online will see it and do the task for you.

Illiterate: Usually beginners to roleplaying, they are known for very list like descriptions of characters such as:

Name: Kale
Gender: Female
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: Shoulder-length, brown.
Clothes: A simple T-shirt and jeans.
Etc.

There is usually little depth to these characters and the roleplay will consist of one-liners. They usually have little to no regards to proper punctuation, capitalization or grammar and OOC posts are normally indistinguishable from their posts until read.

Semi-Literate: Usually longer and more in depth descriptions that get into the character more. Usually the paragraph or two written may not be very intriguing or well written. Grammar may or may not be better than Illiterate.

Literate: Have longer introductions and posts that are both intriguing and descriptive. Their characters are realistic and are comparable to real counterparts that the reader is interested in reading about and not just interacting with. The writing is much more developed and the Grammar is intact.

Advanced: This is the person who specializes and making long and in depth posts that are both creative, and hooks the attention of the reader from the beginning. The grammar is nearly perfect and the writing more thought out.[/INDENT]
I just wanted to draw this piece out for a few people. I keep noticing that people are requesting LITERATE partners when they should be seeking SEMI-LIT partners.

How do you separate posts while setting them up? I keep getting everything in one post, I understand the obsessing about no spamming but it looks all cramped and gross Dx No offence.

Alura--x--Uneii: You need to click on "Go Advanced", scroll down a small bit, and check the box next to "Override double post." :)

Just like this:

[hide] [/hide]

Anything you put between that code will go right into the spoiler bar.

First off, awesome guide.

Second, is there any way to hide threads, so that things are new to new partners for role-plays? I mean, I had a friend who would give a biography of a person or an example of her writing style--done by professionals as well, but you buy the book to read, of course...most of the time. Being a part of the tandem story would basically be like purchasing the book because of your involvement.

Just a suggestion, but I understand if not accepted, because there are all sorts of mediums. Maybe the appeal of the site is that you have so many stories that you can read for free.

Awesome guide, sweetheart!

What I need to understand is how one can move their thread from one place to another. For example, let's say I have an rp started in a private thread but then want to change it to public so I can request more people half way through my rp. Does this make sense? :0
