I’ve made something festive!

Category: Ornament
Description: I decided to put tiny craft butterflies into plastic ornaments. It was kind of difficult squishing them in there, then using tweezers to unfold their wings.

I’ve made something festive!

Category: Wearable
Description: These are hand painted "crazy penguin" earrings I made out of polymer clay for my best friend who is addicted to penguins and has a whole room dedicated to them.

I’ve made something festive!

Category: Decorative spread
Description: I love to put up lights in my room during the holidays to give it a soft glow. Putting icicle lights around the border of the room looks neat also. Ignore the cat, he's too bratty to be festive.

Art and crafts are my passion, but polymer clay is my specialty. WHEW. Sorry the pics take so long to load!!! I think my camera is on a setting to make them large. Hope I'm allowed to enter these three...

Thanks, I worked hard on them! I can't wait to see what other people come up with.

Ugh, I don't know if I'll be able to participate in much of the event now, my internet keeps going in and out even though it says I have good signal strength.

I’ve made something festive!

Category: Single Ornament
Description: It's a cross-stitch Panda ornament. I just took some clear plastic netting (like this) and wove yarn through it in order to create the animal shape, then cut off the excess around the edges.
Entry: http://i56.tinypic.com/2ps0dcg.png

I grandmother used to make these so long ago, so now all of us grand-daughters make a couple each year. Our Christmas trees are full of them! It's getting tough to come up with new shapes and designs.

Yep, it's the same general idea. Once you have a pattern in mind, it's pretty easy to bead/sew/knit/crochet/stitch one of those things.

Sorry Springy about the ill timing. <3 Maybe you'll be inspired to create something else during the course of the event though!
Pretty much was the ceramic form, and I painted it, and then scraped out the little hole and put the hanger thing on it.

Have you seen the cooking mama thread?

----------

@Shadami ~ that is very sweet. <3

@Knerd ~ cute ornament! I tried making a set of alphabet blocks from that stuff for a shower gift once.. only made it about 11 letters in before the baby was born though, oops.

This isn't my entry (I'm in the process of working on it , but I thought I would share a fun fandom-related Christmas link:

Star Wars Paper Snowflakes

(I did actually make some of my own and took pictures of them, but unfortunately my Menewsha name isn't in the pictures and I left the snowflakes back in my dorm so I can't retake the picture. And they were a bitch to cut out and I'm not keen on doing it again!)

I’ve made something festive!

Category:Decorative Spread
Description: It's a mini nativity scene, with Mary and Joseph, an angel and, of course, Jesus! It's incredibly easy to make, but you need a fair amount of stuff and, in the interest of saving space, anyone who wants the full instructions can PM me.
Entry: link so I won't stretch the page

I know, aren't those snowflakes cool! I found the link when Wil Wheaton tweeted it, and being a colossal Star Wars nerd I had to try them for myself!

Here's my attempts at the Vader one, and the Clone Trooper/Boba Fett one.

@Rabid Rainbow ~ Wil Wheaton tweeted that? What a traitor! Those look great ~ I had to share the 'recipe' with a friend of mine who's got his wife cranking them out now, hehehe.

Amice, cute entry! My niece (2) is also obsessed with Thomas. She would looove that. <3

Edit: OH.. I should mention something to everyone -- if you've decorated a Christmas tree this year, you are welcome to enter that in the "Decorative Spread" category.
