Zane ran down the halls of A.R.I., (Arcane Research Institute) alarms blasting out as the lights in the hall all changed from a soft white to a bright red. "Computer access Sector Seven Vault!"He shouted to an elevator door which chimed and opened a moment later. Once inside he looked at a terminal and his irises flashed with blue binary and his access codes were put in. The doors opened once he had reached the proper level. Stepping out he saw the vault door in pieces as molten metal dripped from the perfect circular hole made in the doors, about the size of a minivan, sparks rained down from power cables and network cables."...Whoever-whatever did this is still inside Gadget..."He said "gadget as if it were a name or a nickname to someone, the pocket watch that hung from his grey vest flashed sending a blue light down its chain over his black dress pants and untucked white shirt. Zane's hand gripped the watch and pulled it up to his chest pressing the back of it over his heart. "Odin Mage... activate."He pressed the latch and the pocket watch opened sending out a wave of blue light over his clothing and skin, once faded he was in a full suit of black and silver armor with the watch in the center of his chest place blazing with its tanzanite light. "Showtime..."His voice said, as if there were two of him speaking, walking towards the hole and into the shower of sparks to what was waiting him ahead...

Matt's eyes shot up from his desk when alarms began blaring. "What is it this time..." He stood and went to the intercom that was built into the wall. After typing in a short code, he held down the button and said "Zane, what's going on?" As he spoke, his free hand typed at another keypad. Thick metal doors closed at the entrance to the medical center. A lock-down was only for precaution but, a the cliche went, better safe than sorry. "Do you need any help?"

Lyihel jumped and dropped the vial she'd been measuring out of. A small pile of blue liquid pooled on the metal table she was working at. She went to clean it up but something caught her eye. The director running right past the windows of the lab. Now that couldn't be good. While the liquid dripped onto the floor, she went to the door and looked out into the hall to see what in the world could possibly be going on.

Over the com system only static returned on Matts speakers. Zane's communicator was currently transformed into the armor he was wearing. Just as Lyihel looked out the loud speakers started blasting."INTRUDER ALERT!!!" as the windows and doors started to seal over with steel slabs that then locked into place.

Ezekial walked to his door, the steel slab in his way, he entered in his access codes and the steel slab lifted, "Time to go see what's up." He walked to the nearest computer. "Computer, what section is the intruder alert centered." " Sector 7." The computer replied. Ezekiel walked to the nearest elevator punched in his access codes and proceeded to the nessacary floor. "Now where is he?"

As Ezekial stepped into sector seven a dark figure rushed him and as it struck him they were both teleported to the third floor. Ezekial saw the figure as a shadow of his own form when he turned into a werewolf. In med bay Matthews shadow walked through the doors and gave him a smile. Lyihei heard a second vial drop to the floor behind her before a third smash on the wall missing her head by a few inches.

Ezekial looked around, "How did we...?" He then looked at the shadowy figure, fur and claws much like his own. He extended his own claws, "Wanna play huh?" Ezekial started walking a loose circle the shadow of himself matching his movements.

Matt looked at the inky figure that was grinning at him. What has he stirred up this time? He took a step closer to the shadow, testing its speed while he considered ways of trapping it. There was a genie-esque bottle on the shelf in his office...but that wouldn't work. He'd have to release the banshee first to fit this shadow in and nobody wanted that. Perhaps the locket could bind it for long enough for him to do something. Keeping an eye on it, he took a step backwards towards his office.

Lyihel gasped when she heard the first mash and turned around just in time to see a vial flying towards her head. Doing a split, she lowered herself towards the floor and it smashed behind her. What was this sorcery? For the short time she'd been there, things were never normal. Perhaps it was normal that things were abnormal. Pulling her thought back to the present situation, she looked at the figure and drew a wavy dagger with a fabric wrapped handle from the holster in her belt.

Zeek's shadow faded and then reformed behind him kicking him in the small of his back sending him tumbling forward. As Zeek fell the shadow faded and appeared on the ceiling looking down at him.

Matt's shadow bolted towards him and went right through him leaving a sudden and short wave of pain and nausea. It stopped and turned in the door to his office with a smirk on its face.

Ivy's shadow copied her every move pulling out its own wavy black metal dagger. It giggled like a hundred school girls all laughing in unison.

He doubled over a moment as it passed through him, a chill going through his body. He hadn't felt something like that since the time he'd been possessed. It wasn't a pleasant feeling but thankfully it had passed quickly. When Matt looked up again, it was going into his office. "Whatever you are...I'm assuming you can't speak...you're gaining nothing by doing this. Anything in this office is nothing that is of use to you. All of the containment devices are empty." The banshee, he remembered, was in the bottle in the bottom most drawer of his desk. It was locked and the key in his pocket.

She shuddered at the sound of the laughter. It was such a creepy sound and the echoing in the lab didn't help at all. Speaking in Elvish, she said "Deliver this creature to the Maker." Dashing forward, she turned the dagger around in her hand and thrust the blade into the inky black figure at its abdomen. The dagger stabbed into the wooden door of the cupboard it was in front of.

Zeke rolled and popped to his feet. He looked around the room, "Now where did that thing go?" He allowed himself to slightly transform, his hair lengthening and becoming more shaggy and his strength and speed getting a boost.

"Ah once again Mr. Weston you are wrong... I can speak.. and yes there is something I value here... You."He sounded like Zane if his voice were three octaves deeper... such as Zane's thoughts were... He flew at him suddenly becoming solid and striking him in the stomach with his arm sending him flying into the desk. "I don't want to kill you I just want you out of the way!"

As the dagger struck through her black slime began to flow out slowly into the air. The shadow suddenly started to shriek with laughter and then stepped forward passing through Ivy leaving behind an icy cold numbness in her gut. "You really are thick you know that don't you?"She said in Ivy's voice."

"Up here fido!"It said and then vanished popping up in front of Zeek throwing a punch at his jaw with speed and strength.

Ezekial dodged left and sunk his claws into the shadows arm. He then planted a kick into its stomach knocking it back a few feet.

Matt collided with the desk and the cherry wood shattered beneath him. So this thing was not only shaped like him, it also had is strength. This was starting to get interesting now. Standing, he watched it and stepped closer. "Why do you need me out of the way? What do you want?"

She gasped and backed up quickly, putting a hand over her stomach. Wheeling to face the creature, she held the dagger out in front of her. It was nothing like anything she'd come across before. Wen the blade seemed not to have any effect on it, she grew nervous. Most things, even if they did have magick, they were able to be harmed with a weapon even if it was only for a moment. "Not thick enough to come into a place where you can easily be outnumbered." Ivy said in return to the shadow's comment. "I have only begun."

As the shadow was struck in the stomach it screamed out the sound of a thousand wolves howling at an ear piercing volume. It exploded into tendrils of shadows and swarmed around Zeek before slamming into his chest sending him flying at the wall.

He chuckled Zane's whimsical laugh and smiled."Power my dear... Power."He raised his hand and the lamp across the room started to jiggle.

She let out a shriek of laughter that broke most of the beakers and flasks in the room."Just getting started?! Oh well I can't wait to see you all fired up!"

Deep within sector seven the beast that had set off the alarms was making its escape as gadget and Zane became aware of the shadows upstairs. They raced towards the stairs their eyes blazing with what can only be described as Sunlight.

He thought a few moments then made a risky move. "If you want power...then what are you doing here? You'd be much better off getting some artifacts than trying to take me down. There's clearly nothing stopping you so what are you doing here?"

Ivy grabbed one of the vials that had been left solid. The contents of the jar as bright yellow and had a slight glow to it. She stepped a bit closer to the shadow, smirking some. it would help to make her bluff look more real. "If you say so." She laughed some. "Do you really want to chance getting this on you? You don't know hat it is, what it does."

Between the scream and hitting the wall Zeke slumped to the floor dazed, after a moment he got to his feet and looked for the shadow.

Zane and gadget raced up the steps almost as a blur. As they reached the third floor he rounded a corner hearing the screams of one of the shadows. They closed their eyes to sense where it came from and they felt Zeek's energy along with the shadows. They busted the door open just as the shadow reformed behind Zeek about to stab him in the back with elongated claws. Zane threw out his hand and a beam of pure sunlight shot out of his palm and struck the shadow in the heart stopping it in its tracks. It let out a scream of pain and started to rip itself to pieces as more light erupted from its body. The other shadows heard its shrieks and laughed as they started to fade away.


As Matt's shadow faded it waved and chuckled."I enjoyed our date Matt we should get together real soon."

Ivy's shadow let out a chilling giggle as it glided towards the wall and faded into nothing.

Zeke looked up at Zane, "Here to save my sorry butt again huh? What exactly was that if i may ask?" He stood up rubbing his neck.

Matt blinked and looked at the spot where the shadow had stood. Had it actually taken his advice? He hoped not. Now if an artifact was stolen, it would be his fault. He stood there a few moments, waiting to see if it came back. It didn't so he went to the panel on the wall, trying to unlock the doors so he could get out to make sure nothing was going on in Sector 7.

When hr shadow started to disappear after it, she ran at it out of reflex and swung at it. Instead of doing anything useful, she ran into the wall where it went through. The surface was colder than the rest. When she ran into it, the tip of her dagger broke off and she dropped the jar. It shattered, splashing over her front and feet. Her eyes got as wide as they'd go. The shadow didn't know what it did but she wasn't exactly sure either. As Ivy went towards the decontamination shower, smoke started rising from liquid, making her cough some. She smacked the ventilation button then quickly went into theshower, turning it on as hot as it would go.
