We got called by the mechanic today, he is 99% sure it is a cracked head. Which means a new motor & means good bye car. I liked that car, but that would just be the start of fixing stuff. :(

Not sure how much it would take but before it blew up you would see the temp gauge go to the hot side and it would smell hot (if you understand what I mean) Plus you would (hopefully) see smoke first to give warning of it being too hot.

I worry more if a car is leaking transmission fluid.
That was what happened when Adders car went up in flames.

I would already go paranoid if I see smoke. DX

Well Id freak if I saw smoke too.

I would froze and not knowing what to do.

I have seen steam & smoke, but not a fire.
I think the fire would have made me freak out.
Instead I end up being the third person he called when the car caught on fire.
At least he called the fire department first, then his boss & then me.
It was difficult trying to calm down someone when their car is burning up right in front of their eyes.

Yes my brothers car went up in flames. It was scary.
I'm glad I wasn't there to see it. I was on the phone with him while it was burning.
By the time the fire department got there most of the car was gone.
He was freaking out & I was trying to find out where he was & relay messages to get our parents & my husband to him.
I had the home phone on one ear & the cell phone on the other.

Does that mean, he should send the car to fix before the fire?

Cars going up into flames is not good I do not know how that would happen but I do know that it does! My dad is a mechanic and he sees alot of strange things about cars.

The car was a piece of junk.
It had been at the mechanic, but my brother kept pestering the mechanic about needing the car.
The mechanic told him he didn't need to drive it, but my brother did anyway.
I hope he learned to listen to mechanics after that.
If my mechanic tells me he doesn't think I need to drive the car, I let him keep it to fix it.

car getting in flames is bad, especially there is oil tank inside. Explosion!

Then well, I sure hope he learn that lesson since mechanic are pro in this.

So thats what happened to his car. I knew it caught fire but I didnt know how or why.

It was transmission fluid leaking onto a hot motor that made it go up in flames.
That's part of the reason I worry anytime he wants to borrow my car. He has really bad luck & isn't as observant as he needs to be.

He is foolish. When the mechanic says they don't want you to drive the car then don't drive the car.

Disappointed about my car I liked that car.
