Steve motioned her forward, settling in to vault her up to the heartless space whale. Then he'd just go jump off Bucky to get up there.

Summer made a quick wish that her crazy plan would work, and then ran forward, jumping up onto the shield so he could vault her upwards.

Bucky saw the plan and inwardly groaned, but braced himself for being Steve's springboard. It wouldn't be the first time.

Steve made sure that she landed safely on the heartless before he looked at Bucky. "Ready?" he called. He could already hear the rant this would earn him later, but it was worth it.

"Do it," Bucky called back, turning so Steve could jump up off his metal shoulder.

Steve ran at him and launched off, making it up onto the heartless. He located Summer quickly and ran over, working on helping her for now.

Rose grinned when she saw the two of them up on the heartless space whale. "Waiting until it comes down?" she called over to Bucky, taking a couple more shots.

"May as well," Bucky replied, aiming his rifle again.

"Now what?" Summer called to Steve as he met her on top of the space whale.

Rose nodded and kept aiming at the eyes, trying to see if she could bring it down.

"Now," Steve said, glancing around, "we see what works." He aimed at part of the top of the head, ramming his shield in. The heartless looked like the giant Chitauri space whales, but it wasn't as big, nor as armored. Which meant his shield actually did a bit of damage, rather than bouncing harmlessly off.

Summer nodded and jammed her shield in between some of the scales of what she assumed was the neck. The shield bit in deeply, and the space whale bellowed in pain.

Steve kept finding places to attack, trying to bring it down.

It took a few more hits, but the heartless space whale came down with a bellow. Rose ran over towards where it fell, shouldering her keyblade momentarily.

Summer yelped as the whale finally went down and held on until it hit the ground. Once it was down, it started to smoke, and started to dissipate. Summer watched as countless hearts started to flutter away.

"Is that it?" she ventured.

"Maybe?" Rose watched the hearts fluttering away. "I don't feel any more around, or at least not big ones." She paused for a moment and then turned towards the tower. "No, wait, I feel a few more little ones, that way."

Summer reached out her senses and nodded.

"Yeah, I feel the little ones," she said. She didn't dismiss her keyblade shield yet. "Alright, let's go round up the last of them and lock the world. Feels like the heart of the world is that way anyways."

"Yes it does." Rose started off towards the tower, detouring only briefly to make sure Bucky stayed with her.

"Heart of the world?" Bucky asked as they headed back for the tower.

Summer followed them, making sure Steve was with her.

"Each world has a heart. Basically, the heart of the world is like a lock, the center of each world. Once you lock the heart, the heartless can't get in anymore," Rose explained.

"Still alright?" Steve asked Summer quietly, just to be sure.

"And what does this heart look like?" Bucky asked. "Is it a place? Or some sort of thing?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," Summer said, glancing at him. "I'll sleep well tonight though. You?"

"Last time it was a person, so I'm thinking it might be here too." Rose shrugged. "I'll know when I find the heart."

Steve grinned. "Oh, that was fun," he agreed.

"A person?" Bucky repeated, raising an eyebrow. "And you said you have to lock the heart? So, what, you just lock them in their world and they stick there?"

"Isn't it?" Summer said, grinning a bit. "Heartless are kind of fun to fight."

"Pretty much. Most people don't travel between worlds anyway, so it's not like it's a problem to lock them in," Rose said with a shrug. "And it benefits everyone, so it's all good."

"They really rather are," Steve agreed. "They're different from the guys I normally get to beat up."

"That just sounds weird," Bucky said.

"You're allowed to use your full strength against them," Summer teased, grinning. "No holding back."

"A lot of this is weird," Rose pointed out reasonably, shrugging at him. "Not like this is the norm, you know."

"Exactly. That does help." Steve grinned.

"Trust me, I know when something's not normal," Bucky replied. He grinned. "This is still really weird."

"I bet," Summer said, grinning back. "Better stress relief."

"Yes it is." Rose shrugged. "I'm just trying to get used to rolling with whatever happens."

Steve nodded. "It is definitely better stress relief. What about for you? Enjoying being able to whale on things?"

"I guess so," Bucky said.

"I enjoy it more than I thought I would," Summer admitted.

Rose paused outside the bug, taking a minute to figure out where the heartless were coming from. "We need to go up."

"Didn't have anything like this before?" Steve guessed.
