from my experience, some 3D reference that directly captured from game like WoW or tiny pixel character on the screen from RO are considered as BAD reference. I can hardly tell if the part I'm looking at is just a part of one thing/the pattern of the part or simply a completely different part from another thing. :x Therefore, unless you have an illustrated reference picture, I most likely not going to accept drawing those 3D/online game characters.
