Yeah, and it's... difficult to get into, from what I gather. There aren't many designing firms you can be hired onto, so generally you have to just go it solo and wish for the best? Toooooo scary. :lol: I'll probably just help friends and such. And of course decorate the hell out of my own house. My room is currently so crammed with stuff. I'd love to have it be a bit more edited, but I want all these things out where I can see them, not packed up in the attic. I need a whole house to decorate!

Exactly! :lol: I've actually started decorating other rooms in the house. Sneakily. :ninja: The kitchen and computer room both got really messy, so I did a lot of work in them, cleaning them up. Mom doesn't really like tchotchkes though, so it was more just straightening, but it looks so much better. And mom has been wanting to redecorate our ugly bathroom for so long, so as a holiday-type gift I'm working on helping her with that. I can't buy new paint or anything, but I found some cute things to organize the counter top, and I'm looking for a new valance for the window. She's not design-minded like I am, so it's helpful, not annoying, I swear! :lol:

Yeah, I've had it for years. We never really used it so I think it got put into a closet for a while and it was only recently brought back out.

Oh yeah, happy new year everyone!

I didn't do much. I kind of just sat around at home. Watched some movies, drank some champagne/mimosas. Played with some sparklers. Nothing fancy. How was yours?

More or less the same! Played on the computer as always, then went outside just before midnight to watch some big, distant fireworks and look at the stars. :) Tonight my parents lit a fire and we wrote down things that we're done with and are moving on from on little pieces of paper and tossed them in. I only sat by the fire for about 5 minutes, though. It was kind of windy and the smoke kept going right in my face. >< My hair still smells of smoke, but less so since I doused it in body spray. The smell was driving me nuts. :lol:

I completely missed the change, because I was in the middle of a movie at the time. I didn't know it was 2012 for a good 40 minutes or so.

I probably would have just showered if I kept smelling the smoke. It's been really hot here though, so we don't get to use our fire pit yet.

Yeah, I'll be showering in the morning. I always get so gross and oily after sleeping, so there's just no point in me showering in the evenings, I'll need to shower again in the morning anyway. :/ And I sleep with a fresh handtowel on my pillow every night (for acne reasons), and I think the smoke is only in my hair since the rest of me was covered, so hopefully my bed won't be smelling.

Aww, it's been hot? That sucks. :gonk: It's been really cold and windy here, but we haven't gotten a flake of snow. I want snow! :illgetu:

I think our coldest high has been in the upper 50s and that was probably for like one whole day or something.
