_____________________________It begins____________________________________________ _____

Zandra slowly woke as she felt the presence of another angel near. How long had it been? She wondered as she started to gain consciousness once again. She wondered how long she had slept as she felt the tree around her start to vanish. She closed her eyes as she felt the warm rays of sunlight once again on her skin. She slowly open her eyes as she saw a large group of people gathered around her. She saw a ax in one of the men's hands as she shifted her eyes seeing the tree she had found shelter in chopped away at. She slowly pulled herself from the inside sanctuary she had called home for so long. She remembered everything about that day down to meeting the generations of people that had come from the original group she had protected long ago. Zandra shuttered as the cold morning air woke her from her same dream of the day she had been freed from her tree. She slowly sat up as she looked around her elegant room. She wanted for nothing just as none of her people wanted for nothing. She slowly rose as she saw that her screen door was left open again.

Zandra slowly slipped her winter kimono on that the people had so kindly hand made for her. She slipped her feet into the beautiful shoes as she slowly made her way to the open screen. She stared out from the door way seeing the sun just starting to rise once again. She slowly walked outside gently sliding the door shut behind her. She looked at her secret world as the animals started to awake to greet her once again. She stretched out her wings as she waited for the sun's warm rays to grace her beloved wings once again. It was one of the few pleasures she had left. Of course seeing the people happy was enough for her. Many angels had wondered if she regretted her decision to defy the law. However even to this day Zandra had no regrets and took peace in knowing that her people where safe. It had been over ten generations since the people freed her from her tree. However in her mind when she tried to sleep it was always fresh. Sometimes it was hard for her not to believe she was remembering this event instead of living it. The people had been so kind to her taking pride in the fact she had given up everything for them and for their kins man. They had been kind enough to keep his shrine near her tree so she wouldn't have to be far from him. Even now they had ensured that his sword was taken care of and kept in her room along with the few paintings they had of him. Some how the people had managed to save the beautiful items he had made for her from precocious stone and even inscribed some of his love letters on special fans for her.

The people seemed to care more about her than her own kind did. It was a fact that made her not regret her choice in choosing them. Even now after so many years, the generations still took great care to preserve all the items that are drear to her. They treat her with great care and respect something that she had always admired in the people. It was hard for her to think about how much time had passed. Here however in her secret sanctuary in the mountains time was preserved. Of course the families lived in modern homes at the base of the mountain. They always welcomed her and was happy to teach her about the new world. However they made sure to keep her safe and comfortable. Zandra couldn't ask for any more. She stared up at the sky as she waited for the sun once again. She hopped that it would be as beautiful as she thought it always was at sun rise.

Lex slowly woke as he cursed his head was pounding again. He held his head as he tried to get his baring. He noticed that he was at his crowded desk. He looked down at a pink sticky note reading it. "Hey it's drunk you, I fixed you a sandwich and put it in the fridge. Also told your partners ex where to go. PS: If you are reading this I threw away your phone and the keys are in the fridge. Stay away from Parkers bar for the next three weeks. I cleaned house and put the partner's ex's new boy friend in the hospital. Oh yea...stop drinking and making me do your dirty work!" He stared at it as he saw the sloppy handwriting trying to decide if he really wrote that note or not. He looked to his knuckles as he saw how black and blue they where and sighed. Apparently it was his doing. He also had to admit not many people would end the note with a picture of a whiskey bottle.

Lex sat there for a short while as he slowly stumbled and crawled his way into the bathroom. Somehow he managed to bath and dress himself. After about two hours his hang over started to lift enough that he could function. He made his way to the fridge as he found the sandwich and his keys. He picked up both heading out the door. He locked his front door behind him sandwich shoved in his mouth for the moment. He turned as he heard a female voice behind him and high heels. He hung his head as he saw who it was. He removed his sandwich as he started walking towards the angry black haired women. He didn't bother acknowledging her just simply stepping to the side avoiding her making her temper flare even more. "I'm not drunk enough to put up with this." He said not caring honestly if she heard him. He climbed onto his bike as he slipped his helmet on. He took his sandwich and put it inside his jacket pocket as he pulled out his sunglasses and started his motorcycle.

He couldn't help but grin seeing how enraged the black haired demon was. She had ruined his partner and cheated on him. His partner had been nothing but a good husband to the demon of a women. It was because of her cheating his partner was dead and in the ground. She had hooked up with the local gang leader and became his girl witch didn't set well with either of the men she ensnared with her lies. He couldn't prove it with hard evidence but everyone knew it was her doing. She had planned the attack that his partner dead and left him lucky to be alive. Maybe his drunk side was right maybe it was time to just move on for a while. All he was going to do was end up dead along with a few more of the bad guys. His partner didn't deserve this. He kept driving not paying attention to anything not really caring. He had lost the meaning of life after the attack. He felt empty on the inside except for his range and anger. He honestly just wanted to pull out his gun and server justice to the black haired demon and her gangster lover. But right now he wasn't in any shape to do so.

Faida frowned slightly as she felt the sun in her face. Opening her sky blue eyes, she looked around at her surroundings. It still took some getting used to when you woke up in regular earth, no longer heaven. Still, it was a nice change even though she felt completely alone. Yawning softly, she stood up from the tree she was sleeping under and stretched out her wings. Her wings where the one thing that made her smile. Well that and the humans of course.

"I wonder..." Faida started and walked through the forest, heading to the edge to look at the various people walking around and cars going by. Her sword clanged against her armor as it hung by her hip which obviously alerted animals and people but she did her best to remain hidden. Still, she did wonder what would happen if she was seen, would they try to kill her even though she had helped many people in the past? Faida wasn't sure and she didn't know if she wanted to find out.

Shielding her eyes, she looked up at the sun and the clouds as they slowly moved through the vast clear clue sky. "I wish I could touch them again." She said to herself and sighed. Even though she could fly, she knew she wouldn't make it that high up. That, and she didn't think it would be a good idea to just go out flying with all the humans around to see. There was a slight gentle breeze the rippled through the trees, causing dead leaves to fall and it brought chills through Faida's back. Rustling her wings, she continued walking through the edge of the forest and jumped slightly when a car drove right by. "Oh dear, are they always this fast?" she asked herself.

Jesse yawned and slammed on his alarm to turn it off. He looked over at the time, 6:30am. He had to be at work at 7:00am. "Still have time to shower and get ready, I can eat when I get there." he said to himself and crawled out of bed then walked over to his closet and pulled out his uniform. It was the classic black pants and white collared button up shirt with long sleeves and the small dark green waist apron where he kept the notepad and pen. Jesse headed to the bathroom and quickly showered then dried off and got dressed. He made sure that he looked presentable then quickly pulled on his shoes and tied them up.

Jesse looked into the mirror one last time, fixing his hair as he did so and flashed himself a smile before leaving the house and locking the door behind him. Looking down at his watch, he still had plenty of time to eat before work so he hopped into his car and drove off towards the small cafe he worked in. It was a nice sunny day today and he hoped that the cafe was full today. Work was usually slow but there were times where it was very busy and he hoped today was one of those days. Jesse drove in silence to his workplace and easily parked near some shade where he turned off the engine and climbed out.

His stomach growled, begging for food as Jesse approached the front door and chuckled as he walked inside. "Good Morning Nancy!" he greeted the woman who was putting down the chairs from the table. "Good Morning Jesse, ready for work?" she asked. When Jesse nodded she smiled and motioned for him to have a seat. "I took the liberty of getting you breakfast, something tells me you're hungry." she explained and laughed softly as she set down his breakfast on the table. "It's on the house. Think of it as a gift for always being early." Nancy explained. "Thank-you kindly." Jesse replied and bowed his head in thanks before starting to eat quietly. It was always nice when his boss surprised him with stuff, they had become friends after working together for so long.

Zandra smiled as she felt the sun's warmth again. She open up her large wings as she stretched them. She stared up at the sky as clouds started to gather along with a thick fog that seemed to roll in out of no where. She leaped in the air as she summoned a breeze that helped her fly in her camouflage she had made. She felt to the bottom of the mountain the fog following her along with the clouds making it impossible for any humans to see her. She landed at the edge of the forest where it meet the city abruptly. She waved her hand slightly as the clouds started to dissipate however her fog stayed allowing her to peer out from it's safety. She stood there as she took note of the people watching each one. She threw out her had summoning a large gust of wind that pushed a young women away from the curb she was about to fall off of into a on coming care. The young women looked frighten but at least she was safe. It made Zandra smile as a young girl stared right at her. She just smiled as she held up one of her long slender fingers to her mouth to tell the young one to keep quiet. The young girl looked in awe of her as the girl smiled and nodded. It made Zandra laugh witch sounded like bells. She stood in her fog as she watched the people. Her eyes however fell on a strange young man. There was something about him that struck her as odd watching him heading into a cafe. She kept her silent watch wondering what it was about him that made her feel he needed protection.

Lex tried to clear his mind as he tried to focus on the road. He kept on going wanting to put as much distance from him and his worries as he could. He wasn't sure how long he had been on the road when he thought he saw something at the edge of the forest. He was to busy looking for what he thought he saw that he didn't see bus coming till he heard the horn. "CRAP!!!" He screamed as he quickly avoided the bus and spun around for a slight moment. He pulled over to the side of the road as he tried to calm down and catch his breath. He sat there for quiet a while as he finally agreed he was just seeing things. He looked up as he saw a strange fog that appeared to roll in from the mountain. He turned and looked over his shoulder then looked back. "This place is weird. What have I got myself into?" He said as he didn't understand how the fog bank just rolled in with the bright sun out. The sun should have burned through it however it wasn't. "May as well figure out where I am." He said as he started up again and finally came to a stop at a cafe.

Lex parked his bike and checked it out making sure it was alright after his near death experience yet again. He then headed into the cafe. He looked around and walked to a trashcan as he pulled the use to be sand witch out and threw it away. He took a seat at the counter as he looked around the place. He hadn't heard of this place and didn't recognize any of the names he saw dotted about the cafe. However he was use to the big city but that wouldn't be livable to him for now. He saw one of the menu's and gently picked it up as he looked it over. He felt in his pocket happy to know that his drunk self kept his wallet where he had placed it. He pulled it out and was happy to see that he hadn't spent much money and had plenty for this stop and a few more.

Faida gasped when she saw a motorcycle swerve out of the main road before coming to a stop. Quickly, she peaked out from behind one of the trees to check if the driver was okay. A smile formed on her lips when she saw that the male seemed to be just fine. "That was too close." she said to herself and watched as he walked into a cafe. Quietly, she snuck over to another tree and climbed it to get a better view of the cafe where the male had walked into. Something told her that he needed watching over. Glancing up at the sky, she was slightly confused when she saw what looked like fog in the distance. "Interesting..." Faida said softly as she stared at the fog and wondered what had caused it to appear. The day had seem like a clear one, so why was that there? Faida shook her head, deciding it wasn't important and returned her attention to the small cafe across the street.

Jesse had noticed that a male had walked into the cafe and looked over at Nancy who motioned for him to finish up and take his order. "Wouldn't want him to be unhappy would we?" She said after finishing up her food and then left to the back room which was the kitchen. Finishing up his food, Jesse followed her only to leave his dishes on the sink then left to where the male sat. "Hello and welcome. My name is Jesse and I will be your waiter for the day." Jesse said politely and fixed his glasses on his face. "What will you be having?" he asked and pulled out his pen and notepad to write down the male's order. Jesse loved his job even though it wasn't the most glamorous job. It got the bills pages and he was able to meet some very nice people while his time working there.

Zandra watched as the strange man who wasn't a local enter the cafe. She had watched his near death experience and was thankful that the man was alright. However she had noticed that he seemed to have been distracted by something in the woods. She wondered what had distracted him so. She paused as she wondered if she should venture into the woods and investigate. She started walking as the fog moved with her. She walked half way still close enough to watch the cafe but far enough into the woods to see anything that might be lurking there. Zandra didn't see anything dangerous. "Hello, is there anyone there?" She called out from the center of the fog knowing that she would see someone before they would see her. It was a risk however she had faith in humans and had no intention of harming any being rather it be animal or human.

Lex looked up as he saw a young man appear to take his order. "I'll take a coffee and some water besides one of your house specials." He said as he placed the menu down still trying to clear his mind from the drunken haze he still suffered from. He slowly looked around the cafe as he wondered once again where he was. "Hey, I'm sorry for bothering you. But can you tell me where on earth I am? I haven't seen a road sign that I can identify with. I come from the city and know most of the small towns around the area. However I have never even heard of this place. It's like this place just appeared out of no where. Not to mention the freaky things in your forest that almost killed me and the fog bank that rolled in just outside your cafe. What is up with that fog bank is this normal for you?" He asked as he wondered what was going on in this place. "You have to be the nicest waiter I have met in a very long time." Lex said as he looked at Jess wondering how someone could be happy about a job. He couldn't remember the last time he enjoyed his job. Or he could but that was a long time ago before his partner had met the she devil that ended up killing him.

Faida noticed movement through the cafe window and smiled softly to herself. It was nice to watch the humans go about their lives in peace. Still, she did feel bad for what had happened to the poor male. "At least he wasn't hurt too badly." She said to herself and gasped softly when she heard a voice call out into the woods. Looking around, she didn't see anything and carefully jumped off the tree before drawing her sword as she walked quietly through the woods. "Who goes there?" Faida asked. "Show yourself!" She called out and glanced toward the cafe. Was it coming from the cafe? No, it sounded like it was coming from the woods she was in. Faida didn't see anything though and it was starting to unsettle her as she continued to look around and keep her guard up.

As the male stated his order, Jesse made sure to write it down while listening to what he had to say about the place. "Alright, I'll be sure to get this to you right away." He started and peered out the window at the fog bank before looking back at the male. "To be quite honest, I've never played much attention to the weather here before. I have heard people that come here talk about the fog a lot, so I would think it's a pretty normal thing that happens here." Jesse explained. "As to where you are, this town is called Norfolk." He answered and grinned before bowing at the male's last comment about him. "Thank you kindly sir. I wouldn't and couldn't ask for another job really. If you'll excuse me, I'll go deliver your order and bring it to you when it's ready. I'll be back with your drinks real soon." Jesse assured and turned then left to show Nancy the order while he then worked on getting the male's drinks ready.

Zandra moved hearing the female voice. She waited once she saw the female come into view. Zandra waved her hand in front of her as the fog cleared in front of her allowing the other female angel to see her. " Put your sword away. No harm I will bring you. " She said in a friendly voice as she looked over the other angel. "I am known as Zandra here. I was once known as Radiance Arch Angel." She said trying to not alarm the other angel. " I am sorry for the inconvenience. It just the human seemed to have saw something that startled him. I was curious what he had saw or thought he saw. " She said as she smiled at the angel. Zandra turned her head as she looked at the Cafe. "It seems the Cafe is attracting more and more people. "

Lex could see that the waiter was done talking with him. Lex looked around the cafe as he found a news paper. He got up and walked over to the newspaper stand and picked one up as he took his seat. He flipped through the paper as he took note of some of the stories. He wasn't sure about this town everything seemed old and out dated. However he was use to the city so he couldn't really judge the place. He flipped another page and saw some of the houses listed along with some of the local attractions if that is what people here called it. The town seemed to have a vast variety of parks and hiking trails.
This would be the perfect area for criminal activity. He thought to himself as he put the paper down and turned looking out the windows. He wondered what he had saw in the woods. He had a feeling that the waiter wasn't going to be any help. However he might venture into the woods once he was done with his food and see what he could find.

When Faida caught sight of the other angel, she relaxed slightly and put her sword back in its sheath as she had asked. "I see...I'm Faida, angel warrior. Or I guess I was." Faida replied quietly but kept her distance and her eyes on the other angel. "I did not mean to distract the poor man, I should probably apologize to him when I can." she added easily and smirked. "The food and service must be a good one." she answered at the other's comment on the cafe. It did look rather comfortable and she did want to look inside, but for that she would need to hide her wings in order not to alarm anyone. Although her clothing alone would be enough to raise suspicions.

Grabbing a tray, Jesse place the drinks carefully on it and walked over to the male's table with it. Carefully, he set the drinks down with a smile. "Your food is on the way sir." He said and quietly walked over to wait for the food to be ready. So this man was new to this town and so far he wasn't too impressed with what he saw it seemed. "He just needs a few days to get used to this place I suppose..." Jesse said to himself and quietly cleaned his glasses. When the male's food was ready, he placed it on the tray and took it back to the table where he set it down on the table for him. "Here you are sir, enjoy." Jesse said with a bow. "Is there anything else you need?" He asked politely.

"I see, you should be more careful. Remember no all humans are kind to us. To them we are stories or monsters." Zandra said as she looked at Faida and smiled at her faintly. " If you get lonely or board I live high on this mountain with the people. They are kind and will happily welcome you. " She said as she turned her head hearing foot steps. She held out her hand as the fog seemed to thicken so no one could see the two angels. Zandra waited to see if the man was going to dare and come any further as she could see easily through the fog. Zandra looked to Faida as she watched the man start to head back. " He will be back determination that one has. " She said as she looked Faida over." Can you hide your wings? The people I know will happily clothed you if you would like so you can interact with the people down here. However I'm not sure what to do with your wings. "

Lex looked up hearing Jesse as he shook his head no. " No thank you." He said as he started to eat his food. He enjoyed the food as he sat there. He kept his eyes on the news paper as he ate wondering if he should stay here or not. After a while Lex finished his food and stood as he left the man a twenty dollar tip. He picked up the paper as he stood reading the addresses again before walking back to the stand and putting the paper back. He walked back to where he had been eating as he added another twenty knowing that would more than cover his meal and still leave the server with his twenty dollar tip. He turned suddenly and headed out the door as he walked over to where his motorcycle was. He looked it over then turned as he headed into the forest wishing the fog would let up some so he could see. The closer he got to where he thought he had saw something the thicker the fog got. " Great I come to the one place that seems to have endless fog!" He said as he stopped and looked around not able to see anything now. " I know that I saw something here." He said as he hung his head. " I guess maybe not." He said as he turned and started heading out of the thick fog. He wasn't done with his hunt but he would come back to explore the area once the fog was gone.

"I know that quite well Radiance. Or would you prefer me to call you Zandra?" Faida started and frowned. "I wouldn't want to impose. Besides, we can't be certain that they will accept me like they have accepted you. I do agree that I need clothing to be among them, it would help me look after them and protect them from any trouble that may cross their path." Faida said and nodded to herself. Would they be happy to have another angel among them or no? "Yes, I can hide my wings." She replied to the other's question and took her hand as the man stepped back into the woods but turned away and left. "Tell me, what are the humans like?" Faida asked curiously.

Jesse left the male to enjoy his meal and went to help out in the Kitchen as other workers worked on cleaning tables and the windows. "Nancy, have you ever noticed the cloud of fog outside our cafe near the woods?" he asked her politely. Nancy dried off her hands and looked at him, "I have yes. What about it?" She replied. "Well...is it a normal thing? The male that came in was asking about it. He said he had never been to this town before and had never seen anything like that fog cloud before." Jesse explained. Chuckling, Nancy headed out the kitchen and Jesse easily followed, picking up what the male had left behind. "A tip?" Asked Nancy. "Twenty dollar tip?! Wow, he was generous!" Jesse answered and grinned.

"They are very accepting if that is what you are worried about. Call me as you see fit. " Zandra said as she turned her head watching the cafe as she smiled softly. " You have been with humans yes?" She asked turning her head back to the strange angel. Zandra then thought about her own past as she smiled softly. " I can not speak for every human. However the humans here are really kind. Most of them see us a guardians and friends. However even here there are some that wouldn't know what to make of us. " She said softly as she thought about her own people. " Most of the people who live here know about Angels and respect the Angels that have.....fallen." She said softly. "However there are many faces I don't recognize so I don't know for them. I use the fog when I wish to come down and people watch. Due to my deformities I tend to stay hidden. If a human saw me that didn't know about me from my people they would kill me and believe I was a demon or monster. I don't leave the safety of the mountain normally. However hiding is not living. You are welcome always to my home. And please don't worry at least my humans from my mountain are friendly to our kind." She said as she smiled and looked back to the cafe. " I wish I could walk among them. However if any saw me as I am now I am sure they would kill me." She said as she frowned slightly.

Lex walked back towards the cafe as he open the door once more to the cafe. He walked over to the news paper stand and picked up one of the papers. He paid for the paper then headed outside as he sat on his motorcycle and pulled out his cell phone. He was looking through the different places listed trying to find himself some lodging for the night. He could tell that his drunk self had the phone last. The phone smelt of rum and the numbers had been replaced with pictures of different animals. He had noticed that his contact numbers had been changed along with the background picture. With the strange day he was having he felt it might be smart to just find somewhere to sleep for the night.

"I have not actually been with humans, I've just watched them from a distance." Faida admitted with a small smile. "I'd like to change that though. I do wish to be among them someday, even if it's just for a little while." She added softly. "I shall call you by your first name, Radiance, because that is your true name." She started and listened to Radience as she spoke. "I understand that not all humans are the same, and it is to be expected that not all of them will welcome us with open arms." Faida explained easily with a nod of her head. "I wouldn't allow them to kill you Radience, I will protect you as best I can even without my powers." She said and smiled kindly. She was a warrior angel, defending people and tings was what she did best. Defending an angel was no exception of course, angels had to help each other at every chance they got. "I would be forever grateful to come with you, it would be nice to have a place to stay at comfortably." She said quietly.

"Very generous indeed. Now add your tip to your wallet and the rest in the register. As for what we were talking about before, the fog is pretty normal I would say. What I find odd is that it's only foggy in that one spot and everywhere it's clear like any other day. Odd, but I don't think it's a bad thing that's for sure." Nancy explained softly as Jesse put the money away in the register and his tip in his wallet. Looking up when the door opened, he was surprised to see the male return just to buy a paper and leave. He didn't have time to think anything of it though because other customers had entered and were taking their seats, looking through the menus.

"Believe it or not I was once a great Arch Angel. However as punishment I lost my sword and most of my powers. I still have my healing and control over the element. I'm not a total weakling yet. " She said softly as she smiled at Faida. " I am aware of how far I have fallen though. I once had great wings and the ability of Angels voice. I miss being able to sing and guide people that way. In my true form I even held the sword of truth. Now days I use my tears of healing to help my people making a living and heal those in need. " She said softly as she started to turn and walk heading back up the mountain very slowly so Faida could keep up with her. " You see in the great was that broke out between the fallen and the Angels I was sent to earth to the village that once controlled this area. There was a large group of fallen here that where ruling unjustly on the humans here. The angels didn't care they only cared about the orders given to them from him. My heart ached for the humans and I couldn't just let them be slaughtered in the cross fire. This is where I met my demise. " She said softly explaining how she came to be here.

" I fell in love with the people here and a man one of the kindest men I ever knew. As the war grew on the closer I became to the people and him. In the end I vanquished the fallen and saved all the life here. " She said as sadness started to creep into her voice. " However I was recalled by him because my mission here was done. But I couldn't leave my heart wouldn't allow me. I had fallen in love with the people and worried to much about their safety. And my heart had fallen for my warrior. I was punished for breaking our cardinal rule. However if we aren't suppose to love then why gives us hearts and free will?" Radiance said as she smiled looking back to Faida. "Most of the people here are descendant of the people I gave my title and powers up for. I was put to sleep shortly after I had become a fallen. The people here for decades have protected me. As I even in my sleep have protected and cared for them. The people here are special and I would give my life to protect just one of them. The people went as fair here to preserve everything in the village here in the mountain as it was when I was free. " She said as she smiled thinking of their kindness." The did so out of respect and kindness." She said as she open her large deformed wings. " Let me show you my home and we can find you some clothes. I'm sure you are tired of some ladies stories. "

Lex found several leads on a place to stay for the night. He quickly put the news paper away in his jacket pocket alone with his phone. After half the day had went by he was starting to believe that maybe he wasn't meant to find a place to stay here. He finally gave up looking for a place as he passed the cafe again. He pulled into a parking spot once again having a odd feeling that this was where he was suppose to be. He shook his head as he got off and headed inside again. He noticed that his seat from this morning was open again and walked over to it. He sat down as he pulled out the newspaper looking over at it again. He was looking at the advertisements for housing and even hotels wondering where he was going to find a place to crash for a little while.

A loud ruckus started out of no where as a large built man walked into the dinner and started to yell at another man for setting in "his spot." This made Lex turn as he noticed that no one seemed to be willing to stand up to the man. From what he could tell the man wasn't a native of the area and seemed to be trying to set up a criminal ring here. He recognized several of the tatoo's on the mans arm from different major gangs in his own city. Without saying a word or thinking Lex stood up and walked over to the large man. " Leave the kid gentleman alone and leave." He said in a cold voice as the large man turned and glared at him. "Hahaha who do you think you are? Why don't you make me momma's boy!" The man said as he turned his attention to Lex fully. Lex closed his eyes as he let out a breath. "Why do you ignorant fools always believe that you are better than everyone else? I guess your mother didn't teach you manners, well today is your lucky day. I'm going to give you a crash course in a few life lessons." Lex said as he suddenly appeared in front of the man and quickly turned as he landed a powerful round house kick that sent the over sized man out the front door. Lex followed as the man tried to get up. However before he could Lex landed another blow to the mans chest making the man gasp for air as Lex quickly pulled the extra hand cuffs from his back pocket. He quickly cuffed the man as he reached down and picked up a cigarette from the man's vest.

Lex stood there with one foot on the over sized man as he lit up his cigarette. He enjoyed the rush for a little while before looking down at the man. " Never judge a book by it's cover. And remember there is always some one bigger and badder than you. And you catch more flies with honey instead of vinegar. " Lex said done with his life lesson speech as he heard a cop care pull up. He watched as the young police officer stared at the scene is total shock. Before the police officer could ask Lex pulled out his badge and identification for the officer. " I'm Detective Maxwell. This here is our buddy from one of the syndicate gangs. However I'm sure he'll be happy to work with you and wont give you any trouble. I'm sure his bosses are looking for him. If you look on his left arm he has the markings of one of the low ranking members. Witch means for him to be all the way out here he has done something to really make his higher ups mad." He said as the over sized man stared up at him with his mouth open. "Yes I know all about the gangs and how they work. I"ve spent most of my career in Drugs and Narcotics. " He said as he looked to the police officer who looked impressed as Lex moved from the over sized man and let the officer help the over sized man up and help him into the squad car. Lex turned as he put out his cigarette and headed back in to his seat. He could tell by all the stares that the people here weren't use to his kind of cop. He tried to ignore the stares as he looked over the menu.

Faida listened to Radience as she followed her close behind. It was a very interesting to hear how she had fallen in love with a human. "You fell in love with a mortal man. I never thought it was possible for an angel to love a mortal. This is not a boring or silly story if that's what you're thinking. I'm very interested in this story. This mortal you speak of must have been quite an interesting man if he caused your downfall." Faida said easily and smiled. "I think you did the right thing though, I would have done the same thing. I broke the rules by defending humans who were wrongfully punished or were being hurt. That was the reason I was cast down from grace. I wouldn't change anything though, I did what I had to do and I do not regret it." Faida said and flapped her wings softly. "Lead the way Radiance, I'll follow you." She said with a smile and a nod of her head.

Jesse was serving some food for other customers when the large male walked in and started to yell at someone who was already seated. He hadn't noticed the the previous male had returned until he saw him walk up to the large male and speak to him. Quietly, Jesse finished serving the food and headed back to the counter where he and everyone watched the battle unfold. His eyes went wide when he saw the male kick the other, causing him to fall out the front door. "Wow..." Jesse said to himself and wondered what was going on outside. "I wouldnt want to cross his path when he's angry. This man means buisness." Nancy commented quietly from where she stood behing the counter. Everyone in the cafe had stopped what they were doing just to see what would happen next. Jesse heard a car pull up but it wasn't long before the male came back inside and took his regular seat to look at a menu. Was he really going to order again?

Radiance smiled as she open her wings and leaped into the air and lead way as the fog followed. She lead the way up the mountain. She laughed as she enjoyed feeling the wind in her wings and hair. She suddenly closed her wings as she plumed down to earth the fog completely covering her as she open her wings in time to land in the middle of her secret garden. She smiled as all the animals greeted her. She looked around and smiled at the beauty and the old structure that she got to call home. She turned as she waited for Faida.

Lex was going to reach for a menu when he heard a loud voice beside him. He turned as he saw the sheriff himself right beside him. " Nancy, Jesse anything this man wants is on me for his dinner." The old man said as he took a seat beside Lex looking right at him. " So I called a few friends from the big city. Funny things is you are suppose to be on vacation. However I had a talk with your supervisor and I have a job for you here. Apparently you caused a ruckus cleaning out some of the rift raft around your parts. So why don't help shake up some of the rift raft that is some how finding it's way in our town. We could learn a few things from you and you could learn some things from us. And this isn't a request this is a order officer. I already have your paper work done. I'll see you in the morning." The man said as he placed a badge down with the town logo with it. " Don't worry your other badge is still good. However if your going to be here with us for a while you need this so the people here know your one of us." The Sharif said as he turned and stared out the door looking to Nancey before he left. " Put his tab on my bill please. I"ll be here in a while to pick it up." The man said as he vanished out the door.

Lex sat there as he looked around seeing if anyone was going to say anything. He looked down on the counter at the badge. He slowly pulled out his phone as he saw a text message already waiting for him. He read it as he looked back to the badge. The man wasn't kidding his boss really had oked this. He hung his head as he picked up the badge and stared at it for a moment before putting his phone away. He clipped the badge to his jacket as he picked up the menu ignoring all the glares again.

Faida followed Radiance, making sure not to crash into anything on the way. It was really nice to feel the wind against her face as she flew gracefully through the skies. Her eyes looked around as she flew but she didn't really see anything of interest and carefully landed near Radiance in the garden. Faida looked at all the animals and wondered if they had always been here, or if they arrived when Radiance had awoken. Either way, it was nice to see some animals. "This place is quite lovely." Faida commented softly. She was pretty sure that it was hard for humans to come here, but they came anyway it seemed.

Both Nancy and Jesse nodded at what the sheriff said. "Yes sir!" They both said in unison. Nancy then motioned for the other waiters to get back to work. "Jesse, you go take that man's order when the sheriff is done talking with him." Nancy ordered. Jesse nodded and waited patiently until the male was alone. When he was, Jesse quietly approached him and pulled out his pen and notepad. "Hello again sir. I must say, that was very impressive what you did. Now then, what would you like to order?" Jesse asked politely and with a smile on his face.

"It's not that impressive. Just doing my job. Thank you though." Lex said as he looked over the menu again. He flipped through the menu as he tried to decide what he should eat. Part of him wanted to be in a different setting with his favorite drink. However from his tour around the town he was sure that he wasn't going to find that setting around these parts. His drunk self wouldn't be coming out anytime soon it appeared. He sighed as he sat there staring blankly at the menu. " I'll have whatever the Sheriff normally has." He finally said figuring that the man might know what was good at the place. He needed to learn something about his new boss.

Lex looked up at Jesse as he arched a brow. " Your the one from this morning. Would you know where I could find somewhere to sleep ? I'm going to need a residence here, do you have any ideas where I might find one? " Lex asked wondering if Jesse would know or not. " I looked this morning for just a place to sleep for the night and I failed to even find that here." He admitted as he turned feeling eyes still on him. " You people really aren't use conflict are you?" He asked as he felt a little unnerved by all the attention he was still getting. The fight had long been over. It was time for the citizens to go back to their lives
.

Radiance smiled as she watched Faida. "The people here take great pride in their work here." She tried to explain as she turned and walked to her own room. She steeped on the beautiful wood deck then walked to her screened door as she slide the screen open. The palace didn't look any different from when she first had saw it. It was still in the same style down to the details. Since being awake Radiance had learned that the style of her palace here was considered feudal japan. She knew that visitors came to admire the craftsmanship however the family never allowed any to her area and kept her well hidden and safe from prying eyes.

" Let' see what clothing I have in here." She said as she entered her large room. The truth was her room was bigger than most houses everything any human could ever want was in the one room. Objects that where special to the people and to her where adorned across the room. Special dresses and accessories where draped about the expansive room as well. She had five massive hand built closets that most human women would die to have. However none of the elaborate decor seemed to matter to her. Most of the items in the closets where precious items to her people that she kept her guard over. She kept presents for other in there so the intended recipient wouldn't find it before the special occasion. Radance herself used only one closet for herself. She had another that people kept putting in modern clothing in wanting her to wear.

"Ah, here this entire closet is full of different clothing from today's styles. You look to be my size." Radiance said as she smiled softly opening the closet for her then walking over to her own personal closet and open it. She smiled faintly as she pulled out a modern dress that seemed to have a strange glow to it. However only angels or magical beings could see the glow. She gently placed the dress down on the large couch opposite the closet. She then pulled out several ribbons and two scarfs that had the same strange glow putting them out on the couch for Faida to look at. " Unlike you Faida, I am unable to put my wings away. My appearance is it horrifying for most men and beast alike. The strange glow you see from these items is from the magic placed on them. When I or you wear one of these we appear completely human to humans. However any like us can see us as we really are. " She said softly as she pointed to one of the pictures near the table. The picture was of a young beautiful girl with long lavender colored hair. Her eyes where a striking reddish brown. The sight of the picture made Radiance slightly blush as she looked at the girl fondly. " This is what I look like when I wear one of the items. As you can tell I enjoy the dress. However I haven't wore it in a long time. I only wear these when I just have to. I would like for you to choose either one of the ribbons or scarfs as your own gift. Think of it as a back up. Wear it regardless and even if your wings come out unexpectedly no human will see it as long as you wear it. However if for any reason it fall from your body your true form will appear." Radiance said as she looked a little sad thinking about a human seeing her true form other than the people who knew of her here.

Jesse smiled and nodded as he took the male's order. "Good choice sir! Well I've never seen anyone do what you did sir. I don't think anyone in this town ever has. I know who to call now if I ever find myself in a bad situation." Jesse said and chuckled softly. Listening to what the male said, Jesse nodded and fixed his glasses. "Yes I am." Jesse answered and listened to the male's request. "You're looking for a place to stay?" He repeated and thought for a bit. His house had a vacant room this guy could use, but would this guy accept the offer? He wouldn't think it was weird would he? "W-well sir, I actually do know of a place that you might like. Well at least check it out and see if you like it I mean." Jesse started. "You see, my house has a vacant room that you could use. No one's ever used it before so you don't have to worry about it being dirty or anything being out of place." Jesse explained politely. He was pretty nervous, but he did love helping people out when he could. "Just think about it. Excuse me while I go fill your order." He added softly and bowed before going back to the counter and handing Nancy the order who then left to the kitchen to make it, leaving Jesse in charge of the register.

Faida was in absolute shock when she saw just how lovely Radiance's home truly was. It was enormous even though it didn't seem that way at first. "My goodness..." Faida gasped softly as she looked around the room. No wonder Radiance loved it here, it was like a mansion really. It was crystal clear that the people really cared for her, they practically had her spoiled but protected. "This is all lovely." She said and smiled at what she was saying. "Oh my.. Are..are you sure?" She asked and looked at the photo, then at the scarves and ribbons. "You are lovely, no matter how you look Radiance. Real beauty, is what's inside." Faida whispered.

Her attention drifted to the scarves and smiled. She had always found them fascinating on humans, and she wondered if they would look nice on her too. "You are much too kind, and I am forever grateful of your kindness. I hope that someday, I can return the favor." She said as she picked up one of the soft scarves and pressed the soft fabric to her cheek. "What a beautiful scarf. What a beautiful home you have Radiance. I can see now just how much you are loved, the people here truly have nothing but kindness in their hearts." Faida commented.

"They always have. Please you are free to stay here. I have far to much here. They try and pamper me for things that happen eons ago. However I keep telling them I need none of this. I would be honored if you stayed. Maybe...we could learn about the new world here together? I haven't dared to venture out of her without using my elemental powers to hide me. " She said softly showing how shy she really could be. "Thank you for your kindness. However not many can see mast my horrible exterior. That is why I stay here and help the people here from the shadows. I give guidance and teach the healers here medicine. The things that we angel take for granted the humans would kill for sadly. I can heal any wound with a tear and my knowledge is vast when it comes to herbs and healing. That is why what you see here is important to the people. My tears and the knowledge I have given them over the years have made them all rich here. They pamper me so because they feel it's the only way they can express their gratitude. So please feel free to stay here if you like. Here in this area no one but the most loyal of the people come to me. They will welcome you." She said softly as she smiled softly. "Please there is many clothing you can try feel free to. " She said softly as she walked over to the dress and stared at it. She finally took it in hand and walked over to one of the many screens near the closets. She quickly changed as she walked back out. She knew that Faida wouldn't see a difference but any human would.

Lex looked up as he was a little surprised hearing what Jesse had to say. Before he could answer the man was off again. Lex just chucked to himself as he shook his head. He wasn't sure what he had got himself into however he was very sure he was going to have adventures here. Apparently he and Jesse where going to be stuck together it appeared. Jesse was really kind it seemed it almost reminded him of his old partner. The thought of his partner made him frown as he sat there sober and serious for once. Just thinking about his partner made he want to go back and kill the man and the evil women that had been the nail in his partners coffin. The women didn't even cry one single tear when they placed his partner in the ground. The women instead had the nerve to laugh and leave with the man that had killed him acting like she was going to some party.

"I would be more than happy, honored even to stay here with you." Faida started and thought about all the fun they could have, maybe they could even become friends. Maybe. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves Faida. Faida thought to herself. "I agree. We could both go outside together and be among the humans right?" She asked and smiled. "I won't let anyone hurt you. It is my duty to protect those in need, that means if you need help I'll be there to help you. We angels have to look out for each other, not everyone will look out for us all the time." She added softly. Smiling at how Radiance looked in her dress. Faida then walked over to all the modern clothing and grabbed what caught her eye before disappearing behind a changing screen and changing out of her armor. She quickly slipped into the modern clothes and stepped out from behind the screen. Faida hugged herself and looked over at Radiance, "This feels odd. Shall I leave my things here?" She asked curiously. Faida felt rather exposed in her new clothing, but they felt comfortable.

After a few minutes, Jesse was handed a tray with the male's order. Jesse easily took it and walked over to the male after Nancy came back to the counter. "Here you are sir, I apologize if we kept you waiting too long. I actually forgot to ask if you wanted anything to drink. Is there anything you'd like to drink though?" Jesse asked, rather embarrassed that he had forgotten to ask the male if he wanted a drink first before his food. Well there was a first time for everything, but he was going to make sure he didn't mess up again. Messing up didn't go well with the family, and if they found out about this he'd never hear the end of it. Just don't tell them Jesse. Jesse thought to himself as he waited for the male to reply.

(randomness OMG I looked at that same pic today for Radiance. I love that pic!!!!)
Radiance smiled and laughed as she heard Faida. "Of course You can pick any of these closets for yourself. No one will touch it I promise unless you would like for them too! Thank you I promise to protect you as well." Radiance said as she smiled very happy for once. A slight glow came from her faintly from the happiness she felt. " I hope we can become good friends. You know we could head down to the cafe we where looking at today. I hear they have great food. Maybe we should look for jobs so we can learn about the area......I believe the library is looking for people.....well most places are I guess." She said as she smiled just happy to have met Faida. " I love your attire you look beautiful!"

Lex looked up as he nodded. " And water is fine, thank you. I would also like to check out the bedroom if that is ok." He said as he looked at the food. " We can discuss rent later if you like." He said trying to not be demanding. It was a bad habit because of his profession. He could be demanding and even overbearing at times or that is what most of the criminals said.

(Hahahah! We both have good taste!)

Faida picked one of the many closets and carefully placed her armor and weapon inside before closing it and turning back to Radiance. "I would very much like that. And I do agree that we should probably go to the cafe, but we'll need money to be there. So the best thing would be to get a job somewhere first." Faida suggested with a shrug of her shoulders as she continued to hug herself. She was pretty excited to go out and be among the humans. She did wonder what they would do when they saw them, but she realized that no one would really say anything, because to the humans they looked human too. "Working at a library, it sounds like fun really." She said and blushed softly at the compliment. "Thank you kindly, you look lovely as well." She replied softly. Faida wasn't a very open person, she was still shy since she had only just met Radiance. "We can leave when you're ready." She said easily.

Jesse nodded and smiled. "Yes sir, that sounds perfectly fine to me. I'll go get your water now then." Jesse replied and left to get the man a glass of cold water before coming back and setting it on the table for him. "Here you are sir, enjoy." Jesse said and bowed before walking back to help out in the kitchen. Dishes needed to be washed and he decided to help with that while the cook focused on filling other orders. The cafe usually was really busy around this time of day so it didn't surprise him when he had to help out with other jobs too like kitchen duty, he really didn't mind it.

"oh...money I forgot." Radiance said as she walked over to one of the large dressers. She open one of the draws as she pulled out one of the purses full of money. "Here we have plenty. " She said as she pulled out the large wad of money that was rolled up in the small purse. She looked a little puzzled as she looked down at it." Hummm...maybe we shouldn't take so much. Some of the others said that other humans will attack if you do." She said as she pulled out some of the money for both of them. She then put the rest back in the purse in the draw. She then pulled out the next draw under it with all the purses as she picked up a hand purse for herself putting the money in it. "I'm ready to go if you are. However did you want one of the many money holders here for your money? I still think a job would be fun. " She said softly as she smiled.

Lex smiled as he nodded. " Thanks." He said as he started to enjoy his meal. However he was finding it a little odd to eat with some people still staring at him. He could tell this was going to take some time to get use to. He tried his best to ignore the few people that still stared at him. He wondered if he was going to be in the paper after this with how everyone was acting. He looked down at his phone as he read over the message again from his boss. The Sheriff seemed to have a few tricks up his sleeves. He thought about Jesse and the strange fog. At least here he wouldn't be a board as he thought.

Faida looked at the various purses and smiled. "A money holder? Interesting." She said and grabbed a purple cross body purse and put it on then put the money inside. "This is really neat." She said with a small smile. Nodding at Radiance, "I'm ready, lead the way Radiance." Faida said politely and moved to the side a bit so that Radiance could lead the way out. "I wonder how many people are in that small cafe." She commented. "A job does sound like fun. Where would you like to work Radience?" Faida asked curiously.

Jesse continued to help out in the kitchen before stepping out and walking towards the counter where Nancy was putting away some money. When she saw him out of the corner of her when she chuckled. "Finished already?" She asked. When Jesse nodded she smiled and crossed her arms across her chest. "Good. I saw you were being very social with that guy there. May I know about what?" She asked. "He was looking for a place to stay, so asked me if I knew of any places. I mentioned my house. The house I live in has an untouched bedroom he could stay at if he was interested. He said he wanted to check it out later." Jesse explained.
