Finally, a chance to get back on my computer...

The other day it was stuff I've made, which is just as lovely considering I'm a Culinary Arts student. ;)
But I have plenty of pictures of just lovely food as well!

These were actually jello shots I made for a party last weekend! Caramel jello in apples!

Carmel jello? Was it any good?

They were delicious!
I ended up with 48 or so of them and they were gone fast!
Caramel jello was surprisingly good, though it was weird to have that flavor with that texture

It was actually -jello- brand? I didn't even know it came in caramel!

But I need the deets - how did you do that?? I'm dying to try it

Nope. I made it myself with some Knox gelatin packets, hot cocoa, water, coconut milk and caramel vodka! It was fabulous!

It's really pretty easy! You just cut the apples in half and scoop out most of the insides with a melon baller or something like that, then make the jello and pour it into the halved apples. Then you stick it in the fridge on a sheet pan and let it set... and once it's set you quarter the halves and they look awesome as well as taste amazing!

I don't drink so I'd have to replace the vodka but that sounds delicious!

I saw almost the exact same thing done with orange peels.

fairywaif - You could always use some powdered caramel hot chocolate, and just extra water/milk.

Connielass - I've seen that, too! But the benefit to the apples is that you can actually eat the outside! Nobody wants to eat orange rind, it's too bitter and not the best thing to chew.

That looks so gooood...which isn't helping as I'm starving right now. xD Waiting for my co-worker to come with lunch.

Wow that sounds so easy. I'm SO trying that. Jello shots are totally my thang...

It really was! The most time consuming part was getting all the flesh out of the apples, but it's totally worth it!
