the change happened so that there was more of a chance to get target words when people searched or something like that. more pages on the first page meant more opportunities for hits... or something along those lines

i believe it was, yes. i mean, there are other benefits, like threads lost their overall size when the change happened but also that meant that it could be kept running longer before needing to be archived

i joined on october 10th 2009! it was the day of the dead themed event and i had absolutely no idea what was going on hahaha

Oh yeah, that event did have that theme! I didn't get many things from it and I regret it. I need those commons and still don't have many!
