People get offended because they can't accept anyone elses opinion on the subject.
I have no problem with peoples differing opinions but I'm going to joke about it, and I don't need their opinion shoved down my throat because mine is different.

Yeah, people do tend to do that.
You can joke about all you want. No one should really care if you do or not.
If they don't like it much they should ignore it.
