So, good people of Menewsha, this wonderful celebration is upon us once again!
After missing out last year due to the orchid not flowering, it gives me double the pleasure to be able to welcome you into our beautiful Town Hall Gardens to revel in the sunshine, and join in the festivities as we rejoice in the blooming of our island's floral emblem.
Stroll around; make yourselves at home! There are hospitality tents and marquees set up in numerous areas. You'll never be far from free food, drink or entertainment! There is live music from local bands on the west lawn, for those of you with more sedate musical tastes, our wonderful orchestra will once again be setting toes tapping in the ballroom.
There's even a crèche for the little ones, so the parents can enjoy themselves without worries.
It is always a great joy to me when our beautiful Phoenix Orchid has been coaxed into blooming, but I have to say that I had every faith that it would happen this year. Our wonderful gardener, Nalin Sun, has an angel's touch when it comes to plants, which is why the gardens are looking as wonderful as they do today. Thank you Nalin for the splendid work that you do for us every day!
So enjoy yourselves everyone! Eat, drink and be merry! Though please, try not to get too merry and fall into the fishponds. ;)
