Okay ... Clue 1

Quote:
A well known man has plotted the deaths of well over a hundred people, many of who were royalty. Some survived, but many did not. The man is famous the world over for what he’s done… yet he’s never been tried by a court of law.

Who are the man’s two most famous victims and what is the man’s name?

CLUE 1: The man kills his victims with his bare hands.

I'm going to guess what I've had in mind and see how that goes. XD;

Murderer: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle?

Victims: Sherlock Holmes; Enoch Drebber?

I tried googling and got nothing. lol. It gave me stuff about a story that didn't involve the 16th century and it gave me stuff about policemen. . . </3 I was never a fast googler either thus my reseach papers have always been done at the library.

Nah, I'm not going to resort to Google. I like to be able to figure stuff like this out on my own.

But I'm still drawing a blank.
