~Rules~
To Challenge
Make a post in this thread declaring your desire to face the Challenge.
If you wish to challenge a specific person, note so in your post.

For each Challenge match, two challengers will be randomly chosen to face each other. They will be noted both in this post and in the thread.

Each challenger must then send in a 300G donation.
If they are unable to do so, a replacement will be chosen.

The Bets
For three days after challengers are determined, anyone may place a bet (In any multiple of 50G) on either of the challengers by sending a donation with the message "Bet: (Name of Challenger)".

At the end of the third day, the Challengers will both be sent private messages, each containing the same three challenge questions, or, if they have both agreed to do so beforehand, the challenge will be posted at a specific time and the challengers will be given 5 minutes to post their replies.

After the Challenge
The person with the most correct responses (pending a tiebreaker if necessary) will win 800G + 10% of the losing side's bets. An additional 10% of the losing side's bet will go towards Challenge expenses and other Shop events. The remaining 80% will be split among the winning side's bettors based off the size of their bets. If any gold is left over, it will be donated to charities.

Crafting the Challenge
Anyone can send in their ideas for challenge questions.
For each question chosen to be included in a challenge, a 20G* payment will be sent to it's creator.

*As the challenge grows in popularity, this amount will increase

Please Don't Cheat
Any hints of cheating.. well, I'll politely ask the admins to donate all of your gold to buying a giant shoe to kick you in the ass with.

Seriously- just don't, it'll ruin the fun.

Additional advice
If you want to challenge but are having difficulty raising the 300 gold (or don't care to risk that much) try getting someone to lay down the money or part of the money for you, by offering to split the profits with them! As I'll be handling dispersion of funds based off the split you inform me of, you can be assured of getting what you agreed to. ..if your challenger wins, of course.

This sounds cool. But what kind of questions will they be? 'Cause there are certain things I do not get. And if they're going to be really obscure, no one will be able to do it.... *nervous*

Also, 500 gold is a lot of money. I would suggest making it 300 at the most, because most people with 500 to spend are on quests, or are hoarding it so they won't spend it. At least, that's how I operate. So that amount may discourage people.

Who am I to turn down the advice of my #1 supporter? Done.

I was planning on making the questions just generally random stuff, but maybe I'll assign categories once I get a solid enough buffer of questions to do so, and then allow challengers to choose from categories..

Well, other than choosing random questions from all veins of human trivia, what would you suggest to start with?

Um, anything but math. I really have no clue... Yeah, probably just general trivia.

It's all going to be trivia-based, there won't be any math or logic puzzles.

Awesome. I am SO good at trivia. I also added a link into this in my signature. I'll enter if someone else seems interested, hopefully soon.

Trivia'll be of all categories- media, literature, internet references, social, cultural...
It'll be rather like playing Trivial Pursuit or Who Wants to be a Millionaire, to some degree.

Just remember: Elephants are NOT bigger than the moon, despite what you may have been told.

Oh, man, that was up in one of my English teachers last years' room. He liked having us bring in pictures to decorate.

You know what's fun? Using a Trivial Pursuit set that's 30 years old. Because nobody knew most of the answers. Very challenging.
