Welcome to the Art Mentors/Mentees Thread! Here you can find help with an art mentor or sign up to help someone in need of your artistic talents :) This idea was inspired by a similar guild at Gaiaonline! I hope this thread helps you.

Rules & Guidelines

What is this thread all about?
The purpose of this thread is to help people who want to improve themselves and offer their skills to other artists or look for help. The thread can also be used for any questions or discussions of any various artistic aspects you may have.

What do mentors do?
Mentors will ideally give intelligent critique on mentee's artwork, give tips for improvement, help with whatever the mentee needs help with, etc. Mentors should give thoughtful critiques and try their best to help out their student. Mentors will be given one post (which is the same as our application form) where I will redirect on the front page. On that post, you may edit as many times as you'd like and even edit in "assignments" you'd like your mentees to complete!

What do mentees do?
You simply fill out the application form and if there is no mentor available at the moment, I'll just put you on the front page and wait for you to get a mentor.

How can I join this?
All you have to do is fill out an application form, and I'll put your name and information on the front page.

Can I be both a mentor and a mentee?
Of course!

There are no more mentors left, can I still ask for help from people in the thread?

Small intro: Hi, I'm chip. 8D! My style is very generic, girly and anime. I think I am decent with chibis. I usually draw everything on the computer, using openCanvas. Sometimes I play around with photoshop. I really want to improve on lots of things.

Area of weakness: My normal works are my problem. They look repetitive because I hardly experiment and the head shape and face is almost always the same. :< I also have troubles with anatomy, menz, poses, angles... Small intro: Hi, I'm Winn, and I'm reallyreallyold. older than you - just kidding. My style is really uh. Chibi. Because I really fail at poses and fingers and composition - to be honest I only developed my chibi sparkle-attack style because it was uh, the only thing that came sort of easily to me. uhh. I draw with the computer, mostly, and even then things turn out really sketch and chunky. CLEAN LINES ARE SO HARD.

Small intro: I am a self-taught artist. I draw out my sketches on regular computer paper and then color them in Photoshop CS3. I think my anatomy is alright but it's not the best. However, I am pretty good at spotting anatomy errors.

Small intro: I am self taught so there are many things I don't know. I never learned color theory and I learned to improve my anatomy by looking at other art. My anatomy could use some work, and I'd like to learn to be a bit more dynamic and composition-wise about my work.

Well, I kinda got told off for not filling a form out properly once, so now I'm paranoid about filling everything in.Haha~

Mentor: Doesn't matter to me. As long as he or she is experienced, preferably in realism, is fine by me.
Small intro: Well let's see here, I'm 17, I'm a girl, and I've always loved to draw ever since I was little. I would even carry coloring books, and such, to parties so that I'd have something interesting to do while I was there. xD I used to be really into the anime art style, but now I really hate drawing it, so I've broken away from it, and have gone into realism. I study and practice art by myself through books. I mostly just use pencils to draw the picture, scan it into my computer, outline it, and then color it in with photoshop, but I am still experimenting with it. I'd mostly like help with the anatomy, since I'm still slowly learning it; I want to be extremely good at it so that I can draw almost anything! I need someone to be able to point out my flaws, and not be afraid to say it.
