"Not for much longer," Maeve murmured sleepily. "Think I'm finally crashing."

Tony smiled. "Good," he murmured. "You need sleep." He stretched out a bit before reverting to his previous boneless state.

Maeve mumbled something vague in reply and settled in right there, starting to drift off to sleep. She could feel the waves of drowsiness pulling her under, and she didn't fight them.

Tony watched her for a while to make sure she was really asleep, and then he got up and carefully lifted her. Grumbling under his breath about being too old for this, he headed back to her suite to settle her in for the night.

Maeve stirred a little when he picked her up, but only murmured unintelligibly and went back to sleep.

Her suite was dark, only dimly lit by Chandelure sleeping in the corner. Ditto was puddled on a chair, and Gardevoir was settled on a cot near the bed. Only Gardevoir woke up when Tony brought Maeve in.

Tony settled Maeve on the bed and made a shushing motion at Gardevoir, just in case. He didn't immediately retreat, though. Instead he stood looking around for a few moments, essentially reassuring himself the rest of her team really were fine.

Gardevoir trilled softly and got up, checking on Maeve. It wasn't that she didn't trust Tony, on the contrary, but she still wanted to check on her trainer for herself. Ditto stirred in the chair and ended up making its way onto the bed to snuggle in with Maeve once Gardevoir moved away again.

Tony snorted quietly at that but nodded to himself once he was sure everyone was fine and settled, and he turned to go again. Time to go try to get some sleep himself, probably.

Maeve slept until late in the morning only stirring when Ditto started prodding her for food.

"I'm up," she mumbled, burrowing further into the bed. Gardevoir trilled and scooped Ditto up, heading out of the room and up to the kitchen. She was sure someone would be willing to indulge Ditto until Maeve was up.

Tony was actually fast asleep in a chair in the living room, and everyone was tiptoeing around him trying to keep quiet enough to let him sleep.

Gardevoir made note of him there and then headed into the kitchen with Ditto.

A few minutes later, Maeve shuffled in as well, still half-asleep. She paused when she saw Tony there. She'd kind of expected him to be down in the workshop already. It was odd, seeing him asleep in the living room.

Tony grumbled and curled up in the chair he was sleeping in. Ninetails was sitting peacefully next to the chair, just watching to make sure no one bothered him for a while.

Maeve went and got herself a cup of coffee and a tablet, and then settled into the other chair, just quietly enjoying her coffee and getting herself back up to date on what she had missed while she was gone. No sense in waking Tony before he'd gotten enough rest. At some point, Gardevoir dropped Ditto into her lap, so she absently let the little metamorph snuggle while she caught up on world events.

"Heard from your agent recently?" Natasha asked quietly as she perched on the arm of the couch with her own coffee.

"I haven't heard from anyone recently," Maeve replied quietly, glancing over. "I've been in France. I'm hoping Julie's been able to keep herself in one piece for now."

Natasha nodded. "As far as I'm aware, she is," she agreed. "Steve, however, has been off searching for his friend." Her expression left no doubt that she had been against this plan and thought he was being stupid.

"His friend?" Maeve asked, raising an eyebrow. "This Winter Soldier I've been reading about, I take it." She agreed with Natasha on this one; definitely not the smartest thing for Steve to be doing. But she wasn't his handler, so she had no say.

Natasha nodded. "That's the one," she agreed. "Last I checked, he hadn't spoken to your agent in weeks." She raised an eyebrow, just a little.

"That is definitely odd," Maeve murmured as she looked back at the tablet again. "Though I guess things aren't what they used to be, what with us being unemployed and all now."

Natasha smirked. "Speak for yourself," she murmured. "The Avengers haven't been operating strictly under SHIELD for a long time, now."

"Yes, well, not all of us are Avengers," Maeve pointed out, raising an eyebrow. "Not everyone can be so lucky."

"Thus, speak for yourself," Natasha reiterated, leaning back a bit on her perch. From somewhere in the rafters came Clint's snort.

"God you're such a bitch sometimes, Nat," Maeve whined, making a face. "And you be quiet, Clint. Go find a Torchic to play with or something."

"Only sometimes," Nat agreed mildly. Clint cackled from in the vents and there was the sound of movement before he dropped down out of it.

"More times than you're implying," Maeve said, though she was grinning a bit. She moved over a little when Clint dropped out of the vents.
