Huzzah Façade...again

Got hit by the wind from that tropical storm last night. We lost power at 11:30pm and were edging into day two of no power. It's annoying, but on top of the inconvenience, my grandmother is on oxygen. Usually there's a machine running 24/7 in the house, but now she's relying on small oxygen bottles. And my phone doesn't want to hold a damn charge and the whole family is bugging me since the house phone isn't working. Cookie headache!

How long until your power is restored!? I've lived too far north my whole life to know how this stuff works. I still can't believe how much Puerto Rico is in shambles after the hurricane. Ugh.

No clue. The power company's website does not have an estimate for our area. They don't even have a crew assigned. I finally got my phone to 100% by sitting in the car. I'm gonna go in the house and read and hopefully sleep now. Maybe I'll get lucky and the power will come on magically during the night. A cookie can dream!

I'M SO MAD! The power came back on! For five minutes. Then there was a loud pop outside and bye bye power! This sucks!

Also, the vacuum cleaner turned on when the power did and scared the crap out of me

But now we're all in the dark again. ;_;

Now I want some. -rumble- Maybe I'll try and hunt down some this week! Some fresh pierogis from the wild... hm.

There's actually a sizable Polish population here, so shouldn't take long.

My cousin and I made some two Christmases ago and they were delicious. We did the standard cheese and potato and also some cabbage and onion ones. Yum.

I love both of those.

I had cabbage and onion pierogi for the first time, I think, at our big arts festival this summer. SO GOOD. And a heaping of sour cream is mandatory.

Gah, Cookie, I can't be craving foods I don't have at this hour. WHYYY!?!

Still no power. Everyone around us had power except our neighborhood. That's a ballfield across the street behind our neighbors' houses and they have their field lights on to mock us! The National Grid Outage map estimates we won't get power back until Thursday!!! WTF! It's cold! It's dark! And my grandmother is supposed to be on oxygen 24/7, but she can't, because we don't have that many oxygen tanks! Also, everything in the fridge is gonna die. It's pitch black on our street, so no trick or treaters. This is the WORST!
