A city slicker and a country mouse - the story goes that the country mouse ultimately becomes scared of the big, bustling city, but our characters aren't mice. Our characters are humans with checkered pasts and backburned issues. One moves from the city and another moves from the country, suddenly put together in the same neighborhood. Will they be able to find love and friendship in their new surroundings? Or will fate drive them apart?

Maki Beckett (photographer is landyn-pan and model is spookybanana)
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Personality: Maki likes to make friends with her biting and sarcastic demeanor. This is what she looks like to most strangers and peers her age. When she knows a person a lot better, she can be quiet and doesn't express her true feelings as well. Despite that, she can be bubbly and a little too trusting of the world. She would do anything to help out another person, even if she had to sacrifice something of her own.
Bio: Maki just graduated college with a degree in foreign translation. With no opportunities in sight, she decided to move in with her parents right around the time they decided they were moving. This meant a new location, new people, a perfect opportunity to start over. She left her old hometown without so much as a word and figured that her relationships would be better ended that way.
Despite her tagging along with her family, she always harbored this dream to ultimately run away and cut all ties with her family. As the eldest daughter of 3 children, she felt her needs and wants overlooked time and time again (an overreaction) and figured that running away from the people who knew her on the surface would be successful yet again. Or did she really leave her friends without so much as a trace?

"I'm glad I trusted your judgment on picking the house, cuz this looks really cozy and cute."

The Beckett family ended up on the driveway of their new house. Her two other siblings stayed stark silent as they looked at what was basically a new chapter of their lives. Maki could barely contain her excitement. "Finally," she whispered to herself. Without another second wasted, she got out of the car, and saw the moving truck come in right up behind them. She took a deep breath in the morning air. It was relatively chilly in just her jeans and tank top.

The rest of her family went into the house to stake out their rooms, Maki wasn't too concerned with which room she would get because there was already a sort of patio that she'd been keeping her eyes on ever since her parents showed her the house layout. "Think of this as a graduation present," they told her, and she couldn't ask for anything less. She picked out the room that was slightly apart from the rest of the house, one of the walls was just purely glass. The interior was big enough that she was able to put her tv, a small fridge and a microwave for her to keep to her room whenever she needed to. At least she had her own bathroom.

"Maki, are you gonna come in and see the rest of the house?" She looked back at the house to see her mom beckoning to her. She shook her head, saying, "Nah, I'll help out with the movers out here. Let the others pick out their own rooms!"
