o.o eep drugs. I'm always glad when people get off of drugs (or stop smoking and hte like) but it makes me wonder why people get on the stuff in the first place. There's no way with the number of anti-drug/anti-smoking campaigns out there that you can't not know the risks, or that those risks are REAL. why start something that could kill you? It just makes no sense to me!

I keep forgetting about this. I need to make myself a reminder.

I'd like to submit this avi!!.

Went, picked up Tara and Jen yesterday, got lunch and then we headed over to her parent's house to get her stuff. Made Jen stand guard at the door as an early warning system on the off chance Tara's dad came home while we were there packing up. Told Tara that she needed to grab all of her stuff like she wasn't going to come back into the house.
Thankfully, her dad didn't come home. He was at his shop doing stuff. Tara is now living at Jen's for the time being while she is looking for a job and getting her feet back under her.
Mel, people know the risks involved with doing the drugs and not everyone that does drugs gets hooked on it, but there is a certain good feeling that comes with doing the drugs. Things it does to your body that makes it feel wonderful, or allows you to disconnect from the world around you. There are times that most people doing drugs or drinking alcohol just want to escape from the life that they have no control over.
Tara just happen to get over her head in the drugs. Her home life didn't help, not trying to make excuses for her, because that is the last thing I would do, but it was her way of coping with a situation she had no control of or way to get back in order.

Addiction is a strange thing but seeing it as much as I do with some of our clients, I understand it. I hope things work out for Tara. She's lucky to have you as a friend.

That's what she told me a few weeks ago, that she really appreciated and was that I was here at her side when she needed. And she wasn't sure what her life would be like if we weren't friends.
Kind of made me weepy and very proud. Never had anyone seay that to me before, other then Rodd telling me how glad he was that we met and were together.
