Renaissance Festival! I miss going, the closest is a couple of hours away and we just don't have the money for it right now.

That reminds me a renaissance festival is starting next month. here in Louisiana it normally last form sometimes in November till December. I went to one near my cousin's but I went with some friends last year. I do hope I can go again this year it was so much fun.

My family used to attend one held annually near our house. Loved it! We all have outfits...one of these days I will get one of the merchant gowns, or make it, we'll see.

Good luck if you try get a merchant gown. some I seen last year where a bit high price but the food was all right there. I only bought one thing last year plus a bit of food.

Found a website that sells them for $500 and they will customize it to your measurements. One of these days I will get the dress *sighs*

I hope you will get it some day. I have a glass quill pen but it dose not write that well at all.

That sounds very fancy, a glass quill pen.

Fountain pens are as fancy as I get.

The last thing that I got at the Renaissance Faire was a pewter wine goblet without a stem. It's a beautiful cup that happens to fit in my cleavage.

I think I have been to it at least once each of those years, except for maybe two times when we didn't have the money to go. For the last couple of years ours has been doing a 2 for 1 discount ticket on opening weekend. I'm happy they started doing that. Ticket prices & food prices have gotten a little crazy.

I saw you were talking about a merchant dress, good luck with getting or making one. I hope you will post pictures if & when you get one. I love all the dresses. I have spent years either making or hunting for costume pieces.

My husband & I have just started to collect stuff for our next costumes. He has been wanting to make a steam punk costume. I'm searching thrift shops for stuff to use. We have already had some good luck with finding some stuff, most of it will need to be dyed & distressed some.
