Not me, but some people, they say. man has always led the women astray.
But I say, please listen when I say, the woman smarter than man in every way.

Okay, this profiles the female characters of Naruto. You have your favorites, and I'm sure they're on this list.
There is a poll here on which girl you feel is destined to be with Mr. Uzamaki. Please vote and give your opinion on your choice, but also comment on any other female characters you like.
This moon-eyed sweatheart needs no introduction. Hinata Hyuga is probably the first female character seen in the series. The thing we all love about this modest little mouse is her crush on Naruto Uzamaki, of which he was largely unaware until the Invasion of Pain Arc where she confesses to have always loved Naruto while defending him from the Akatsuki leader Pain.

There are several factors in my mind that make Hinata a fan favorite among Naruto Fans.
1. Her Modesty: She is often humble, sometimes too humble.
2. Her Crush on Naruto: A longstanding plot behind her character is Hinata's undying infatuation for Naruto due to sharing the feeling of being an underdog. It also comes with the running gag of Hinata often blushing and passing out around Naruto the more her feelings for him grow. In fact, her feelings become so strong that she misunderstands him when Naruto returns to the Hidden Leaf Village and tells her "Come with me".
3. Her Bravery: Although she may seem weak, Hinata is actually quite fomidable. She is able to use the Byakugan, the signature jutsu of her family, and is very skilled at it.
Hinata and Naruto
This is a shipping that many people are in support of. This is mainly because that Hinata seems to be the underdog in vying for Naruto's attention when compared to Sakura Haruno. But there have been times when Naruto seems sweet on Hinata, even though he remains oblivious of her feelings for him until Shippuden.
Hinata and Kiba
Hinata and Kiba are members of Team Kurenai. Kiba seems to behave as a brother to Hinata, looking out for her and she looks at him as one of her closest friends. Kiba becomes aware of Hinata's crush on Naruto and is prone to teasing her about it as if they were actually brother and sister.
Although she could be called the "poster girl" for Naruto, unlike a lot of other anime and manga main female characters, Sakura Haruno is not a source of fan service (leave that the Naruto and his Sexy Jutsu), but instead sometimes a source of slapstick comedy due to her fiery temper.
While originally not as liked for her fiery temper and lack of techniques as other characters, Sakura has become a fan favorite during Shippuden. This is probably due to the fact that she is developing from an insecure and superficial little girl into a mature young woman. It doesn't hurt that she's developed some powerful jutsu and no longer needs people like Naruto or Sasuke to come to her rescue like she used to.
Like all girls, Sakura is very concious about her appearance and resents being called "skinny and bony".

Sakura and Sasuke
In the early years, Sakura was deeply infatuated with Sasuke Uchiha, as was almost every other girl in the Hidden Leaf Village, with the exception of Hinata--even Temari from the Sand Village referred to Sasuke as "the local hottie". However, this was simply based on Sasuke's good looks and his prowess as a ninja while she knew hardly anything about the true torment he has gone through.
For his part, Sasuke had no interest in Sakura whatsoever and considered her totally annoying.
Sakura and Naruto
In the start, Naruto had as monstrous a crush on Sakura as Sakura had a crush on Sasuke. And she reacted quite violently to his frequent flirting and attention. She saw him as nothing but a pest. But as she got to know him better, Sakura has become more tolerant of Naruto.
In fact, in Shippuden it's a very popular idea that Sakura is starting to develop actual romantic feelings for Naruto. In the first episode of the Shippuden anime, Sakura asks Naruto if she looks more like a woman, obviously seeming as if she is flirting with him. Of course, Naruto says he doesn't see a difference, but he of course possibly meant this as a compliment.
Naruto has gone from seeing Sakura as just a pretty girl as an actual person. His feelings for her are very strong; so strong that he is willing to put Sakura's happiness ahead of his own. This is mostly shown in Naruto's determination to find Sasuke and bring him back to the Hidden Leaf Village for Sakura. Of course, that doesn't stop him from frequently flirting with Sakura, asking her out on dates and once or twice having dreams about her.
Sakura and Ino
These two have been friends since they were little. Ino would actually defend Sakura from being bullied. But when they both realized they liked Sasuke, their friendship seemed to end. From then on they would fight and insult each other on every occasion. It wasn't until after their match in the perliminaries for the Chunin Exams that they seemed to reach a new level with each other and renewed their friendship, their rivalry seeming to fade away. In fact, during the Chunin Exams, Ino does her best to prevent Sakura from becoming depressed during Sasuke's abcense.
Ino Yamanaka starts out as the classic mean girl in school to her former best friend Sakura, but that has since seemed to be put behind her. Like quite a few of the girl ninjas, Ino seems to prefer long distance combat to close range. But then, when you can transfer your own mind into someone else's body and make them do whatever you want, you don't need to be physically strong as long as the person you're controlling is.
To Ino, what seems to attract men is a slim and curvacious figure. So she often diets and wears clothing that shows off her figure. Some Ino-Haters out there actually often refer to her as a slut because of this. But to me, it has nothing to do with sluttiness, but taking pride in her own appearance.

Although she can sometimes be superficial, Ino does have a sense of what is really important in life. She also takes pride in helping to run the flower shop owned by her family.
Ino and Sakura
These two are best friends who have also been past rivals, but have since put that behind them. Sakura and Ino will sometimes gossip with each other when they are together.
Ino and Sasuke
Like a lot of the girls in the Hidden Leaf Village, Ino had a superficial attraction to Sasuke without actually knowing much about him. Though her infatuation with him seemed more shallow than Sakura's.
Ino and Naruto
Like Sakura, Ino originally considered Naruto annoying. Naruto considered her annoying as well, mostly due to her liking Sasuke. However, in Shippuden, when Ino sees Naruto has returned after years of training with Jiraya, she seems very happy to see him again. Later on in the anime, Ino also says she could fall for Naruto.
InoShikaCho
The alternate name Ino and her teammates Shikamaru and Choji came up with them under their sensei Asuma Sarutobi. Ino seems to be both boss and cheerleader of the team, enthusiastically cheering on the guys whenever they go into battle, though they aren't ever seen doing the same for her. While she originally criticized them, she has since come to love them both as if they were the brothers she never had.
Tenten is unique among the Naruto characters in that, while some wear either Western or Japanese attire, Tenten is often seen wearing Chinese clothing, which in my opinion is rather cute.

Like many girl ninjas, she prefers long range attacks; in her case, Tenten often uses summoning scrolls to summon things like kunai knives.
Not only is Tenten the only girl on Team Guy, she is also a source of much needed normalcy. Between her eccentric sensei Might Guy and Rock Lee who seems to mimic him in every way and the jaded Neji, Tenten often tries to keep her cool and accept their personality traits. Tenten could be seen to act as something of a surrogate big sister to the impulsive Lee.
The young and crafty mistress of Wind Jutsu, Temari is the type of girl who doesn't take crap from anyone she can stand up to. When Temari goes into a fight against someone using her giant fan, she rarely shows them mercy; in her fight against Tenten prior to the Chunin Exams, her fight against the opposing girl ended by Temari seemingly using the wind so Tenten would land on Temari's fan, inflicting some serious injury.
However, since then she has been shown to be less bloodthirsty in a fight.
Kamatari is the personal Summon for Temari; a giant weasel wielding a sickle.
Family Bonds
Temari is sister to Kankuro and Gaara, though it's unclear if she's the same age as Kankuro or if she's the middle child. She is very attached to her brothers and loves them greatly. Temari is so connected to them that she will become angry if there is nothing she can do to protect or defend either of them.
Temari and Shikamaru
Since the Chunin Exams, Shikamaru Nara and Temari have often been paired together by fans as a couple. The idea of them being such has even been referenced in the series, though both of them say that any relationship between them is strictly professional and political with the alliance between their respective villages.
However, in an Omake segment, Temari suggests they change the series title to Shikamaru Shippuden. Maybe she does have a soft spot for him.
One look at the face of Ms. Anko Mitarashi and I instantly thought she could be a female version of Naruto, which was also stated in the series, due to her being "a screaming lunatic". Also, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who first thought this, when I first saw her, I assumed she wore nothing underneath her mesh top.
In fact, Anko is probably one of the first examples of fan service in the series.
Anko is both beautiful and creepy. She has been shown to be rather bloodthirsty to a literal level. This is shown when she nicks Naruto's cheek with a kunai knife and licks blood from it.
The fact that she has pupilless eyes only adds to her creepiness.
When she was just a cute little girl, Anko was mentored by none other than Orochimaru.

Perhaps some of his creepiness rubbed off on her.
Kurenai Yuhi could be classified as one of the most beautiful women in Naruto. And I'm the type of guy who prefers women who don't wear make-up, so that should tell you how well she wears it.
Not only is Kurenai a beauty, she is also intelligent and skilled in physical combat. Her beauty and skill is perhaps remeniscent of the ancient Amazons.
Kurenai is very motherly to her three students, and they in turn are all attached to her. In particular, Kurenai is the most motherly toward Hinata, being the first to recognize the mousy girl's infatuation with Naruto. Kurenai is also supportive of Hinata and tries to boost her morale as much as possible.
Kurenai and Asuma
Who says that romances have to be limited to the kids of the series? Kurenai and Asuma Sarutobi have long since been in a relationship, both of them being shy about it. While the level of their intimacy has never been explored, in Shippuden it's revealed that Kurenai is pregnant with Asuma's child.
Now here's a lady who needs no introduction. Due to being one of the legendary Sanin, Tsunade is possibly the strongest female character in the series. Very few people can match her in physical strength, especially when she's angered...which just happens quite too often.
Tsunade is at least in her 50s, but don't call her an "Old Lady"...it may be the last thing you ever do.
YouTube - Don't call Tsunade old O-o
See what I mean? Of course, Tsunade doesn't seem to mind Naruto calling her "Grandma" to her face or when she's around. This could be because he reminds Tsunade of her late little brother Nowaki.

She keeps herself looking young by manipulating her chakra.
Tsunade is not only powerful, but a proficient healer. Her brand of expertise is Medical Jutsu, a brand of jutsu that allows her to heal people from almost any type of injury. She has since taken Sakura and Ino under her wing in this department.
Tsunade is known for her bust, but in her youth she was flat-chested.
This metamorphosis seems to fascinate her students Sakura and Ino.
Originally Tsunade was uninterested in becoming Hokage after the death of Hiruzen Sarutobi (more commonly known to viewers of the anime as "The Third Hokage") because both her brother and boyfriend had died in pursuit of that dream. She changed her mind, however, when she saw the determination in Naruto and even defended the unconcious boy when Orochimaru attempted to kill him. Tsunade holds her new position with great responsibility, and as Hokage, always puts the protection of the people in her village first, not the type to resort to rash and unneeded decisions that could sacrifice the lives of others.
Tsunade is addicted to gambling, but she almost never wins and it's implied to be a bad omen if she does. As such, she is known as "The Eternal Sucker" and has various debts that need to be paid off.
The Sanin
The Sanin are the three most powerful ninjas in the Naruto world. They consist of Tsunade, Jiraya and Orochimaru. Many fans compare the three in their youth to forerunners of Team Kakashi:
Jiraya-little pervert-Naruto.
Tsunade-cute yet fiery little girl-Sakura.
Orochimaru-aloof boy who longs for power-Sasuke.
Tsunade would often butt heads with Jiraya who seemed to like getting under her skin by calling her flat-chested. But when she started to develop, Jiraya made the BIG mistake of trying to peep on her in the bathhouse; the result was Jiraya receiving several broken ribs, a broken arm and brutalized organs.
For the most part, though, Tsunade and Jiraya now get along quite well.
However, Tsunade and the now evil Orochimaru are sworn enemies, as it it Orochimaru's desire to destroy The Hidden Leaf Village.
Shizune is sort of like Tsunade's secretary. She is most often seen standing around in Tsunade's office holding Tonton, Tsunade's little pet pig.
Being a practical thinker, Shizune acts as the straight man--eh, woman--to Tsunade's frivilous behavior such as gambling. She is known to be easily intimidated by Tsunade when the Hokage is in a temper and react comically to Tsunade's more eccentric decisions. With all the stress that goes into working for Tsunade, it's a wonder Shizune still has a gorgeous head of hair.
Like Sakura and Ino after her, Shizune was a student of Tsunade in the field of Medical Jutsu. She is able to heal almost any type of injury or ailment through the use of her own chakra. This comes in very useful if Tsunade is preoccupied in a fight and someone gets hurt.
Just because she's a lovely young lady doesn't mean Shizune is a pushover. Not only is Shizune skilled in Medical Jutsu, but she also has a brand of jutsu that can poison her enemies.

Shizune's connection to Tsunade is a symbolic one. In the past, Tsunade was involved with Dan Kato, Shizune's uncle. If things had gone differently, Tsunade and Shizune could have very well have become in-laws.
Probably one of the most underutilized female characters in the Naruto series, Matsuri is a Sand Village ninja under the command of Kazekage Gaara as well as his older sister Temari. Like Hinata, Matsuri is originally soft-spoken and shy but gradually becomes more confident in herself. It is also implied that Matsuri (as well as her partner and friend Sari) has a romantic attraction to Gaara. She will lay her own life on the line to protect him and has full confidence in his powers and will become angry with anyone who says different.
Sari is friend and partner to Matsuri. Like her friend, she seems to be strongly attracted to Gaara and views him as a person with many great qualities rather than a cursed young man with a monster inside of him. Sari and Matsuri seem to be the Sand Village versions of Sakura and Ino in that they are best friends but also attracted to the same guy.
Princess Koyuki Kazahana (known as Princess Gale in the U.S.) is the starlet of the Naruto movie Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow. She runs away from her responsibilities from fear of her murdering uncle Doto who desires the throne for himself and his equally savage henchmen.
Koyuki develops the alias of a famed actress in order to hide herself, but when she encounters Team Kakashi, her uncle's minions bring her true identity to the surface. While she originally believes that there is no such thing as a happy ending like in movies, she is so impressed with Naruto Uzamaki and his own dramatic childhood that she finally stands up for herself and accepts her place in life and resolves to rebuild the land her uncle has spent so many years destroying with his lust for power.
Shion is another movie exclusive character. She is the starlet of Naruto: Shippuden the Movie. This light blond was born to be a priestess from the Land of Demons. Her gift is that she is able to make predictions, but her predictions are normally those of dark and disastrous future events. This has earned her the fear of many people in her village, but because she is a priestess and has been pampered since she was a baby, Shion believed herself to be superior to all others. The isolation because of her curse and pampered upbringing in a powerful family makes her very similar to Gaara: Both originally believed that they alone deserved life and had a cold indifference towards all others, including those who truly do love and care for them, until their eyes are opened by none other than Naruto Uzamaki.
Shion is unique among female characters who have voiced a romantic interest in Naruto in that she is so attracted to him, Shion indirectly asks if Naruto will father her future child. And of course, since Naruto is often oblivious to romance, he foolishly agrees. Though nothing seems to come of this misunderstanding.
Sasame is an anime exclusive character who appears in a filler arc of Part 1 of the series. She is a member of the Fuma Clan who were once very powerful ninjas in the distant past. The current generation is approached by none other than the great manipulator Orochimaru, who takes Sasame's beloved cousin Arashi. While trying to find out what happened to him, Sasame is accosted by some of Orochimaru's men and saved by Naruto, Sakura and Jiraya.
Sasame seems to be one of the few ninja-class characters unable to use chakra and instead use their own physical skills. She uses her hat as a type of mask and is very skilled at seals. Even though she may not have big and flashy powers, like Matsuri and Sari, Sasame is a girl worthy of notice due to her determination to protect the person she cares about regardless of how she may be ill-equipped to do so.
Young Moegi is the classmate and friend of Konohamaru Sarutobi and a rookie ninja. She and Konohamaru seem to both like having big hairstyles and wearing scarfs and goggles as part of their wardrobe, which may hint at her liking him. Moegi idolizes Sakura, viewing her as lovely and powerful and wanting to be just like her when she grows up. She may just do that, as she has already taken up to punching her boy buddy when Konohamaru does stupid things such as performing his own version of the Sexy Jutsu.
This dour and sad-eyed young lady is Yakumo Kurama. A former student of Kurenai Yuhi who was instructed by the Third Hokage to tutor her to become a ninja, despite being physically weak and rendering her unable to use ninjutsu and genjutsu. Kurenai attempted to mentor Yakumo in the same way Might Guy mentors Rock Lee, only to realize that the optimism that comes so naturally to Guy did not apply to her. Knowing she had made a mistake, Kurenai attempted to persuade Yakumo to forsake the way of the ninja and live a normal life.
But Yakumo has taken this as being abandoned and rejected by Kurenai. Just because Yakumo is physically weak does not mean she is not potentially dangerous. She is a member of the Kurama Clan, and the family possessed a power to alter reality. If they wish for someone to die, than it will potentially happen. This is a very dangerous power to have, and it was sealed up within Yakumo. But this, coupled with her perception that Kurenai had abandoned her, caused Yakumo to create Ido.
Ido could be seen as Yakumo's inner demon. It is a monster that is created when a user of the Kurama Clan cannot fully control the full powers they possess. The Ido splits from the psyche of the person and takes on a life of its own before slowly attempting to take over the person who created it, creating a potential danger to all.
Tsubaki debuted in the Mizuki Strikes Back Arc, an arc exclusive to the anime. But afterward she fades out from the cast. And I think that's a shame. This is mostly because she, Iruka and her former lover Mizuki are often compared to be very similar to the past Team Kakashi, though it is unclear if Iruka had feelings for Tsubaki like Naruto has had feelings for Sakura. Also, like Sakura, Tsubaki was determined to believe that there was a chance for Mizuki to repent for his past of evil after meeting Orochimaru just as Sakura begged Sasuke not to leave the Hidden Leaf Village to join the monster who calls himself human, only to be discarded and brokenhearted.
To me, it's a damn shame that Tsubaki was dropped from the cast of the characters so quickly after the end of the arc. She could have been used to add more development to Iruka Umino. Those of us who were denied are now left to spout fanfiction and dream of what might have been had Tsubaki been kept as a regular character.
Yes, you are looking at a girl. Karin, to be exact.
Karin is part of the Hebi team created by Sasuke sometime during Sasuke's quest to hunt down and kill his brother Itachi. She was taken in by Orochimaru after her small village was burned to the ground and has since been one of his few surviving minions.
Karin and Sasuke
Okay, we've seen a fair amount of pervs in the Naruto series.

But Karin may be one of the unique ones.
Like so many girls before her, Karin became attracted to Sasuke shortly after meeting him. Unlike Sakura and Ino, however, Karin is quite aggressive and prone to openly pursuing and attempting to seduce Sasuke, often ending in failure. To me, the creepiest part of Karin's desire to be with Sasuke is this...
-> YouTube - Naruto Shippuuden 161 Ending
While Jiraya and Naruto (when younger) may be prone to peeping at bathing beauties and Ebisu is a closet perv, the very fact that Karin gets excited about having snatched Sasuke's toothbrush is just downright creepy to me.
Of course, seeing as Sasuke is so obsessed with revenge, he shows indifference to the lovely young lady who so desperately desires to be loved by him.
Just who is this purple-haired masked woman? Yugao Uzuki, member of the ANBU Black Ops.

While she may not possess any flashy jutsu, she is still not a woman you would want to make angry. This is shown quite well in the Invasion of the Hidden Leaf Village Arc, vowing to get revenge against those who murdered her lover Gekko Hayate.

It can be assumed she took the lives of very many Sound and Sand ninjas during the invasion out of revenge for his murder.
Kin is member of Team Dosu, a Sound ninja under command of Orochimaru. Although she could be viewed as an attractive young woman, she is, at heart, as bloodthirsty as her teammates Dosu and Zaku.
She shows no mercy to her enemies and is always eager for a swift kill, adding insult and threat to her victim all the while. Kin's speed and Shadow Clone jutsu makes her extremely cocky and certain she will win whatever fight she enters.
Her loyalty to Orochimaru is rewarded by being sacrificed so her master can bring the First Hokage back from the grave by using her body as a vessel for his soul. As such, Kin's young life is snuffed out so that her heartless master can destroy his former teacher.
Tayuya is the sole female member of the Sound Four and is the only one of them who uses sound as her means of attack. With her Demon Flute, she can create illusions that disorient her enemies, allowing her to inflict damage upon them at her leisure. And when she is pushed, she will activate her Cursed Seal, turning her into a demonness with dark-brown skin and bony plates growing out of her head.
In this form she has greater physical strength and endurance.
It just goes to show that the beauty might be there, but the beast is truly in Tayuya's heart.
http://images.wikia.com/naruto/image.../F%C5%ABka.png Fuka is an anime-exclusive villainess. She uses her alluring physical beauty to lure men to her and then she will pounce, locking them in a kiss that sucks out their soul and chakra, adding to her own power. This succubus sets her sights on Naruto Uzamaki, but after being scared beyond reason after seeing a vision of the 9-Tailed Fox, she gives up her desire to suck out his chakra and decides to merely kill him off.
Fuka can also use jutsu relating to the elements of fire, earth, water and lightning. The only elemental jutsu she seems to lack is Wind Jutsu. This has caused several fans of the anime to compare Fuka's powers to those of the series Avatar: The Last Air Bender.
Like most women, Fuka is concerned about her physical appearance. Cut her hair or skin and she just may resolve to murder you as a form of twisted punishment.
Isaribi hails from the Land of the Sea. She became victim to one of Orochimaru's vile experiments. The end result was that she became what would become known as The Demon of the Ocean.
She was hidden on Demon Island where she was blamed for the many people that vanished when in fact they became guinea pigs for Orochimaru's experiments. Isaribi has lived all her life being persecuted for crimes she was not responsible for and dubbed a bad omen by the islanders who routinely attack her and vandalize her house.
Although in her natural form Isaribi is considered physically weak, her "Demon Form" is well suited for being in the water. She is swift and easily hides within the water, and sports rows of sharp teeth.
Like several characters who become used as sources of power by evil people, Isaribi prefers to live apart from people and believes she is the monster everyone says she is. The only difference is that Isaribi does not act upon a desire for revenge or out of fear, but rather she is being manipulated by the mad scientist Amachi who promises to change her back into her human self, but in fact he has no intent and really wants to dissect her once she was no longer useful to him. And like most characters who have been used by villains who changed them into monsters, Isaribi is saved by Naruto and shown that outer appearances do not matter.
This otherworldly pixie is Kagero of the once strong Fuma Clan. In a desire to regain her clan's former glory, Kagero and two of her comrades join the ranks of Orochimaru's henchmen, and I think we all know what happens next. It is very likely that Orochimaru either experimented on Kagero or her unnaturally fairy-like appearance is a product of her own chakra. Kagero is skilled at transformation, though in her case it is more like a metamorphosis. When she first appears she assumes the guise of a hideous mole-like man with large bucked teeth before "hatching" into an illuminecent fairy-like woman. She even disguises herself as Kabuto, using his skills to an identical degree. Her true form is like that of her pixie form, but with darker skin tones and mossy hair.
Kagero is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.
And there you have it, some of the best female characters in the Naruto series. Love them or hate them, they are part of the cast that make the series worth getting involved in.

Well, I ain't all that into Naruto now adays, but Hinata will always be my favourite female character from the series.
She's such a sweet heart and I really hope she gets a good end in the story!
Even Kishimoto said she'd make a better heroine than Sakura! I think there was also an omake about how Sakura was pissed off because she was less popular than Hintata! XD

I'm a fan of Sakura in terms of preference over other female characters. Other female characters in general are alright, but when it comes to Hinata and Tenten... I'm not a fan of those two in particular. Hinata because she has a Byakugan that can see farthur than Neji's, but yet she doesn't put it to good use, and as well, she's kind of... useless. Hinata during the battle with Pein, need I say more? And Tenten just throws weapons around really. That's all I can say. I've heard other fans try to back them up with I don't what they're talking about but all I can say is that fillers don't count! I've always stuck with the manga, myself.

The reason why I like Sakura is that she isn't perfect. She's not absolutely gorgeous like plenty of the other female characters, and in the beginning of Naruto, she was a jerk, careless, superficial, and useless. But most of all, she was ignorant. I really liked how as more battles happened, and as the story progressed, Sakura matured, and I thought that was a lot more realistic for a character, and it's fun to see characters grow. Not to mention she has been very useful in battles like when she and Chiyo battled Sasori.

So, yes. Sakura Haruno fan here!
