I've always kinda wanted a rabbit as a pet, but I'm also not so sure. I love my ferrets and I love rodents as well (used to have pet rats), but I'm kinda iffy on rabbits for some reason.
I'd really like to get a little pet for my son, but I don't know what would be best. The ferrets are too old for him to handle, the bearded dragon is too small right now (still a baby), the dogs scare him a little, and he gets mad at the kitten when it attacks his feet.. He needs a good pet that's the right size and right temperament.

Well, rabbits are very quiet they don't make any noise. They are very gentle if you leave them be. Most of them don't like to be handled or picked up or they can scratch and bite. How old is your son?

Mine can be very playful at times and will even follow you around the house or garden which is always funny xD

Old lap cats are good or like...a guinea pig. My friends have kept guinea pigs before.

Guinea pigs seem so skittish and nervous. I was originally planning on getting a guinea pig but changed my mind last minute and got a rabbit. Or rather, my bun picked me xD he was so excited when he saw me so I had to bring him home with me. Never regretted having him once. Yeah, I'd love a cat or puppy to cuddle with but rabbits are very sweet and loving too.

He's 2. I'm trying to show him how to be kind to animals and the proper way to handle them.

Oh the struggle of kids with animals my littles are aged 4 and 3 and its a battle to get them to remember how to handle small creatures properly. 4 Year old does really well but her brother forgets grip control often so its like no no no Xan dont squish the furbaby. Hes learning though slowly but surely.

Aww, then I'd say no. Bunnies are fragile and can suffer really bad injuries if dropped ><; but that goes for any small animal really.

My cousin's kids are four and five and they still struggle with how to pet a cat without irritating it. The younger one anyway. She got scratched my the old cat we used to have because she was not having kids pet her.

Young kids can be natures assholes sometimes. Thats why I try to stay on top of mine to make sure our cat is torture free. Sapphy is good about not killing them to though. Shes like okay I wont maim or eat the children and they wont throw or stomp on me. But the little one still tries to go Elmira on her from time to time. But in the big picture scheme of things it could be worse because I have seen kids that throw, bite or kick at little animals so mine trying to over cuddle is much less aggressive I think.

yeah and some cats have much more tolerance for it than others. Most kids are too overbearing toward cats since they have have a low socialization tolerance in the first place. Pedro did just fine with the little kids when they were over though. He slunk away from them from time to time, but he's not known to act out when upset. Only when hungry.

Hopefully mine will come around to the cats.. He does aggravate the adult cat a lot, but doesn't like the annoying kitten.

She was born with no tail a tiny thing and now she is huge and muscular and full of energy and an excellent hunter to boot. She is spoiled rotten though. Ill have to try and get a picture of her when she comes back inside later lol. Shes got beautiful markings and has this pale orange underfluff. Im probably bias like all moms but shes too pretty for her own good lol
