Well, John Wick is done. Sadness in the beginning, but from then on out it's gratuitous violence and revenge porn. Porn meaning, if you want the badguy to get his in the end, you'll get off on this. Pretty much what I expected.

Now for I, Frankenstein!

@Ava - I will. The roads are pretty snowy. Might not return these movies if they don't bother to plow soon. D:

X-Men was my comic when I was young. It's the one comic that I actually bought. It's not like I feel that things can't be changed. I enjoy crossovers and alternate universes and all sorts of stuff like that. I love fanfiction. But the X-Men movies all felt like bad fanfiction. They cast Charles Xavier, Magneto, Mystique and Wolverine really well. But almost everyone else was meh. The stories they told were always kinda "WTF". The Wolverine movies are godawful! I expected First Class to suck with that long history of crap. I'm not saying it was the height of cinema, but like I said, the cast had great chemistry. They took an interesting approach to the origin story. It wasn't comics compliant, but it also wasn't so far out in left field that it was terrible. I think it accidentally hit the right balance of cheese and story and everything. From what I hear the movie was sort of thrown together quickly, so as I said, I feel it was a bit serendipitous, and thus hard to recreate. Especially when they pulled in Bryan Singer to helm it after what he'd done to the previous films. :P Commercial successes maybe, but not that great for fans or anyone with taste

But that's just my opinion. You should watch First Class. See what you think. I find Magneto and Mystique's whole "Mutant and Proud" ra ra kinda funny considering that they're basically saying "Mutant and proud, except you Charles. Stay out of my head!" Let's just say that it's made for some interesting meta to read. :)

Loki is a fan favorite. Though I feel like a lot of fangirls have this super woobie romantic look at him that makes me kinda laugh. Hiddles does a good woobiefication, but that's not my preferred interpretation by a longshot. I feel like Loki is the new Snape in a way. Except movie Loki is pretty, but if they looked at the comics version of Loki everyone would be horrified.

@Cookie
Glad you liked John Wick!!

Ah, I see. So you're looking at it from the perspective of a comic fan. That is totally understandable. I get really picky over things that go astray from my favorite comics too. (As far as comics go, I'm more of a DC gal myself.) I totally get how you feel!
I wonder what's in store for the X-Men movies after now... I don't know hardly anything about X-Men or the movies since Ive only seen DoFP. Though, I do hope that someday Angela Basset is cast as Storm.

LOL! Hiddleston did a wonderful job of making Loki actually loveable.
I haven't really read the Thor comics, but I have seen comic!Loki before, and he's definitely far from beautiful. LOL. But you've got to admit, comic!Loki's mischief is much more fun than the "mischief" Loki does in the movies... Like, when comic Loki turned everything on the streets into candy and ice cream. LOLOL!!
And I certainly get a kick out of seeing him jumping around on the rainbow disco bridge. LOL.

@Nola
I'd probably pay lots of money to see Loki too.... Because of Hiddleston, though. He's.... he's so beautiful. And Loki is such a damaged character.

Hiddleston is amazing <3 I love him soooo much. I kind of find it funny since the guy who plays thor was voted sexiest man alive and I'm just over here like damn. even in the real world, the actor for loki finishes last xD

Hiddleston is awesome. He's so talented too.
I loved him in Only Lovers Left Alive.

Chris Hemsworth is beautiful too, but I think Tom looks better. Hemsworth got better as each movie went along, in the beginning he wasn't that handsome. It's like, as he got older he got better looking.

Tom is handsome... but when he was younger he looked like a dork. Him and his curly, blond hair. xD

I'm not really a comic purist, but yeah, I did read the comics. And I watched the animated series when I was a kid. And Jubilee was my favorite. And instead of putting her in the movies, they sort of took parts of her character and smashed it together with Rogue and called it a day. Super disappointing. And it's not like it improved Rogue's character at all.

It would have been nice if they cast someone a bit more noble than Halle Berry as Storm. Storm was worshiped as a Goddess. She looks awesome in a mohawk and leather. She's just too awesome for Halle to handle. :P

My tummy hurts and I'm only half way through I, Frankenstein. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

It's very disappointing when Hollywood gets rid of good characters. I got upset when they totally ruined Robin in The Dark Knight. They just got rid of Robin and merged him with a random police officer. Like, wtf?! Why couldn't they have just gotten rid of Robin completely? Why add him into another character completely?
I don't know why Hollywood does what it does, but usually they're not total comic book fans. I think that's what I like about Disney's marvel. They tend to be a little more comic-centric. But I really don't think we'll ever seen Loki turn the streets into candy. :(

I agree. I'd rather see Angela Bassett as Storm. My dad disagrees, but I think Halle Berry is a bit too mainstream to be Storm. She doesn't have a memorable face like Storm should have. You know? I don't know if I'm making any sense.

What is I, Frankenstein about? Is it scary? D:

I, Frankenstein is awesome! It isn't that scary. It is more of a modern take on Frankenstein. It centers around the actual monster as opposed to victor Frankenstein.

Is it a new movie?
I haven't heard of it until now. I'm not really into monster movies, though, but it does sound interesting.

I haven't seen the Dark Knight. I just didn't feel like it was necessary. I'm sure I'll watch it someday, but I don't have any overwhelming urges to run out and see it. That does sound really dumb though.

I agree with you. Halle Berry just happened to be the hot young blakc actress that was big at the time, but she just doesn't have what it takes for me. That was my problem with a lot of the characters. They basically failed to take the character and make it their own in any good way, and thus felt really ill fitted in their roles. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen owned Xavier and Magneto. Most of the others just drowned in their roles.

It's what Nola said basically. It essentially takes place after Mary Shelly's novel. Dr. Frankenstein died pursuing the monster. The monster buries his hated creator and suddenly, a bunch of demons try to take him. Only some gargoyles are nearby and help fight them off. Turns out that gargoyles were created by God to send demons back to hell. They're constantly at war. Once a demon is killed, their soul descends to hell and is trapped there for eternity. But the demons see an opportunity in the monster. Reanimate an army of corpses that have no souls, so that the demons in hell can possess them and take over the earth. So the movie ends up being a battle between good and evil with the monster, who the Gargoyle Queen dubs Adam (the first of his kind, subtle), stuck in the middle.

I'd say the beginning was rather clunky. It got off to a slow, clumsy start but it picked up and was pretty enjoyable. If you like battles between good and evil, demons and gargoyles, this one's pretty entertaining. Honestly, I was just here for Miranda Otto aka Eowyn :D

It came out in 2014.

@Cookie
I think if you're a Batman fan, The Dark Knight series might not be your thing. I didn't really like any of the The Dark Knight, even though tons of people felt like it was the greatest movie in cinema history, especially The Dark Knight and the sequel The Dark Knight Rises. I didn't like The Dark Knight because of how they portrayed the Joker as some sort of twisted, psychotic man who enjoys killing people in creative ways.

That makes sense... I don't get why Hollywood chooses to do that, though. Instead of casting people that would actually fit the roles and do an amazing job at portraying the character they just pick whoever is really hot at the time. So sad. I feel like they do that with a lot of movies.

Oh! That does sound like a very interesting movie, I, Frankenstein. It's pretty new too! :o I do like a good good vs. evil movie! It's not scary, though, right? I don't like scary things. x.x

@Amane & Nola

I love books too! I just bought a couple of books I read back in middle school and I'm reading them again. Speak & Water For Elephants. I love reading, but I haven't been reading as much as I used to, which makes me sad. My school was right next to a library so every day after school I would walk to the library and just check out like five or six books and I'd read them all in a week then return them and do the same thing.
I miss that about school, now that I don't go to school anymore I don't go to the library at all anymore. I just sit at home and read fanfiction or watch movies.

@Ava - Casting directors definitely pick who is hot at the moment a lot. I feel like that's why we got the X-Men casts that we did in the first few movies. Halle Berry as Storm and such. I also think that that's why we're getting Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange. There are a lot of actors of color that would have made far superior Dr. Strange's! Dr. Strange is not originally a person of color. He's some spoiled white surgeon that goes to the far east and sees the light and becomes a hero and all that. But he has a rather ambiguous appearance and there are a lot of really handsome actors of color that would have nailed it. Only, they pick Benedict Cumberbatch who has such a weird damn face. He looks like you could paint him blue and send him off to be a cat person in Avatar. I know he's super popular, but I've never gotten the appeal.

Anyway, I, Frankenstein was no scary. I mean, there were demons and gargoyles, but they weren't so done up that they were really scary.

If nothing in the trailer scares you, you should be good to go. :D

@Amane and Nola - I like books too. But the internet has also taken over. I still read, but mostly I'm reading fanfiction, with the occasional book thrown in here or there. After all, fanfiction is free and tends to deliver just what you went hunting for. And if it doesn't, write your own!
