I hate trying to shade large areas. ; ~; Especially when I restrict to not using blur. = 3=

Why not use blur? :O I usually have my blur set to either %70 or %20 depending on the area I'm coloring.

Can I make a suggestion on shading? Blur tends to.. well making things fuzzy and can actually lose depth if you.. really go at it.
I'm not sure what program you use, (I use Photoshop) but, you can either try to custom make your brushes, like one of mine is set on Flow 90% and on Airbrush which what you would see in my sig.
Also playing with opacity helps, and another way of blending is using a medium color. So let's say you got a bright orange and a dark orange, obviously there will be a clash of contrast.
Example
So you eye-drop the middle color of the two. The brush I was using was on 100% hardness, and it's not a great example. But I hope it helps?

Ah, this does help! :D I use Sai, but you can make custom brushes there; so this is great. Thanks! :eager:

And thank you! > w<

Before this week, I hadn't drawn for... 3 months, and before that was.... 2 years? Or something like that. @_@;; I love that my tablet is working again though. So happy :)
Really? Darn, they are for me too. Your chibis look like chibis though. xD Mine... don't...
