Ah, good luck For-chan! When I went to New Orleans last Halloween with a group of friends, three of us chipped in for a house via Air BnB. It was fantastic; the guy was very quick to answer questions and offer advice, but otherwise stayed out of our way, it was only a few blocks from the street car... great experience.

I just got home from work. I'm sulking because I had a bad day and my friend cancelled our plans due to it being "horrible" outside. It's slightly overcast, but otherwise sunny, as the rain ended three hours ago! -_-;;

Whatever, now I can spend the rest of the night on Mene.

It is absolutetly beautiful out today. 70 degrees. a warm breeze. sun, clouds. glorious!

It was raining and yucky this morning, but by the time she sent the text to bow out, it had already stopped raining and was clearing up, which just bugs me. At least say you just don't feel like it. Don't make up excuses.

I'm hoping that it's nice. Both of the places that we're renting out have a lot of positive reviews, on both the flats and the hosts. In both cases, it was about equal to a stay at a cheap hotel. The NYC leg of the trip is practically a steal, considering how expensive hotels in NYC are. If you want to stay on the cheap, you have to stay outside of the city near an airport or in Jersey. :P

Yeah, just tell me that you're not feeling it. I'll be disappointed, but I understand. There's a lot of times I really don't feel like doing something, but if my friends are involved, I try not to cancel. Nobody likes hanging out with a flake. :P

@Kirin - I wish I could travel more too! I need to get back to Louisiana to meet my new niece, but flying is expensive and I have a crappy job. Maybe I'll get myself a new job for Christmas or something ;)

Well, it's hurricane season now, so maybe not now. Mardi Gras season is good, but it can be crowded and crazy. Of course, that's half the fun. Autumn or winter are good because they're pretty mild down there. Not too cold and definitely not the icky heat of the summer!

i don't get to see my friends very often. but I had to cancel on one of them recently cause my kids were sick :/

I'm very much a home body. I don't really make plans unless I really want to see you and have fun. This person just cancels on me a lot.

Plus, we went to a theme park and her wife came along and pretty much ruined the trip. We only went on five rides because wife was "sick" after 3 rides and too tired to stay after that. I drove us all two hours to get there and we went on five freaking rides. Wife is a nice person and all, but one of those people that manages to make things all about her.

Yeah, her feelings trump everyone else's, so her feeling sick or tired mean the fun's all done. And the problem is, she's either sick or tired alllllllllll the time! The whole reason I was supposed to go with my friend was because the wife doesn't do roller coasters or much of anything. Last time they went to the amusement park, the wife sat on a bench the entire time! It's not like this behavior was unexpected. I was going as someone who would ride the rides so we could have fun together, but then Wife wanted to come. I mean, at least we got her on rides this time, but still, I didn't have a good time. ;_;

i'm really sorry to hear that. i wish you could have had fun. I mean.. i don't go on many rides personally so i'm not an amusement park person. but i'm often content to people watch if I've not got kids to drag along with me. xD

Yeah, some things just aren't for some people. Maybe if people are aware of their likes and dislikes, they can save everyone the disappointment and not rain on the parade of those people who like those things.

I'm just rather annoyed by it all. It's not like it was a cheap trip. It cost me a lot of time and money and I got very little in the way of returns on that investment.

:/ i really wish people could not let things revolve souly around them. others have feeling too. and it sucks when you do so much for someone and they don't care.
