There are those who are born for greatness, and those who make their own destiny. In the year 2025, scientist began experimenting more with life. First with plants, then with animals...then regrettably...with people. It started out harmlessly enough, a plan to help the planet, to grow bigger and better food and then animals...until the military got involved. They believed this biological experimentation could be put to use against the nation’s enemies, using these plants and animals for missions, sometimes to poison their enemies, others for simply obliterating them.

Over time however, the military became unsure about these experiment's more feral and primal nature, they were merely beasts after all. Tools. They wanted to advance to smarter more useful weapons, ones that would be able to take on more covert or important operations. So thus human experimentation began. Doctor Vladimir Karnoff was one such man involved within this. He was the one who began the experimentation on plants and animals to begin with, the one to be brought in by the military. He had little knowledge of what they would want of his work until it was too late.

When they approached him of human experimentation he refused, but going up against the military and in turn the government would do little good. He had little choice but to comply. What they did not know, was that the things they called beasts, were not as stupid as they thought. Due to the experimentation, it had messed with the balance and path of evolution. Things were beginning to evolve at an unnatural rate, and as they evolved, they turned against their suppressors. Man never thought of fighting a war against nature, not like this. The very things that had been created to help them had been turned into weapons, and eventually had turned against them.

The world was beginning to fall apart, man stood little chance. During this though, though doomed as he knew the current humanity was, Karnoff succeeded in his experimentation to create a better human. His hope was on his experiments surviving, to live through this time and to be humanities’ last hope. In total, he created eight super humans, each with their own set of abilities and strengths, so they would have a better hope of survival. To hide them from the military and the coming doom, he scattered the eight across the world. The world as they knew it fell, cities and countries left in ruin, people whipped out.

Five years passed, and the world fell into a wasteland, overrun by the beasts and plants...except for the eight...who managed to survive, and a rumor...of a ninth. The last experiment that the doctor finished before the worst came, one meant to lead the others to their salvation...and into the future. But in order for the future to have any hope...the nine must survive today.

Nine and Cion

Deep within a city off the coast, the buildings were crumbling and collapsing. Various types of plantlife had creeped into the streets, making it look more like a jungle now than a city. None would have guessed, that only a few short years ago, this had been one of the major cities involved in the world’s future. Ironically, it had played the biggest part within its end.

Along the streets, a few shadowy forms darted around, growls and odd noises were the only thing that carried through the air. A thick fog had settled low to the ground, having rained the previous night. Farther within, one of the buildings stood at an odd way now. It looked a bit as f something massive had taken a bite out of the side, as a gaping hole was where the stones once were. A sign laid on the ground, half covered by the plants reading:

“Department For Reserch And Development”

This had been one of the labs used, and it had been one of the most influential ones. Not for only helping to create this disaster, but to help try to correct it as werll. Dr. Karnoff had spent his final days here, working to correct the trouble he had caused. To do so, he had worked in secret with only those closest to him that he trusted on a vary important project. Eight experiments, each with abilities of their own, who would be trusted to take on the task of saving the world and rebuilding humanity.

There had been another, a ninth he was in the process of working on. He had just finalized the work, but before number nine could be activated, the reaserch facility was attacked. What happened next is a mystery to most, but the Dr. was lost. In this facility now, the halls were a disaster, overrun by the natural world. Down in the lab, it was not safe either. However, within the darkness a small blue light began blinking. A mechanical voice came over the lab’s system.

“Bio signs normal…Stabilization complete. Regeneration complete. Experiment Nine’s activation….imanent.”

A part of the wall folded down near the blinking light, to reveal an odd capsul like pod. The glass cover on it clouded due to dust and such. It gave a slight burst of steam, rising off of the pod. The mechanical beep of a heart monitor sounding in the room. Inside, a male laid upon a sort of cusion like interior. For a moment nothing happened, a light growing on one of the panels by the operating stations.

Another glass like lid opens up, and an upside down teardrop shape lifts off of it. A blue light forms across the screen of its face, soon turning into the semi shape of an eye. Compartments open up on the side, and long slender arm like apendages slide out. “Oh my head…” one of the arm like apendages moves to the main body, “hey wait…I’ve been activated?” The robotic form gave a spin in the air, “oh man this is great!”

It then noticed the pod, and the male, floating over. Poking the male with one of it’s arms a questionmark appeared where the eye had been. “Wakey wakey…we don’t have all day.” The male within slowly began to stir, his eyes fluttering open. The vision behind them was blurry, and it took a few moments for him to focus. When he did however, the floating robot was his first sight. He sat up, a bit to quickly.

“Nnn…” a hand went to his head. “Whoa take it easy” the robot says, “you had massive work done, you shouldn’t sit up so fast.” “Who…are you?” he asked. The robot seemed to beam, even if it did not have a mouth to smile with, “unit VK-87315692” it replied, “but you can just call me Cion…and you are…” a blue light shot out of Cion’s faceplate, scanning over the male.

“Experiment number nine, age sixteen, name….unknown….mental enduced abilities” the light faded. “That’s odd” he tapped his faceplate, “seems I have not been updated with your full stats or even a name. I’ll have to report this….” He turned, surveying the lab, “on second thought….looks like we should figure out what’s going on here first.”

The male looked around a bit at the destroyed lab. What was this place? He slowly stood up, moving around to get a better look. "What is this place?" he asked, Cion floating by his side. "Hm, readings indicate it's home...or supposed to be. The Department Of Reaserch And Development" he said, "it is where we both origionated." It was odd, a creepy feeling begining to grow within the male.

Something was not right, he could not explain how, but he could feel that they were not alone. He placed a hand on the doorframe, looking out into the dark hall. "I'll do a quick scan through the security system" Cion said, "should tell us a bit....um...still no idea what to call you, so Nine I guess will do for now." He grew silent as he began, Nine moving into the hall more, looking into the darkness beyond the hall.

Something was there....he could feel it. A slight growl came, a pair of large yellow eyes came from beyone. Freezing, Nine looked into them, they were filled with a bloodthirst and killer intent. Suddenly, a large form shot forward towards him. He fell back, looking up into the eyes of a large black cat like creature the size of a van. Odd quill like apendages shot out from it's back, folding close to its body as it growled sharply.

"Whoa, that's new" Cion said, moving over, "I don't think we want to stick around to find out what it wants!" He raised his arms, a blue shot of electric energy shot from them, hitting the creature. It roared, turning away. It pulled at its snout with a massive paw. "This way!" Cion turned, taking off down the hall. Nine did not hesitate, jumping up to follow. The two ran, soon followed by the crashing and roaring sounds of the beast behind them. A light opened up ahead, the two of them breaking free of the building and out into the air beyond. The beast not quitting, staying hot on their trail and closing in.

Madness had consumed the world. It was an unforeseen tragic event that ripped apart the very core of mankind. What was once a thriving world was now crippled to ruins that laid beneath the undergrowth of mysterious and exotic plants. The feral world had taken over and life was not safe. None knew if man could survive such a change, but it was risk few were willing to take. Having made it thirty-three years, the rusty brunette's green orbs didn't waiver at the sight of sheer devastation. He was built, well enhanced, to endure such events.

The rustling of the grass caused the male to shift from his perching position to better aim at the creature that would soon emerge from the tall, wild grass. Eyes narrowing like those of a hawk ready to swoop in for the kill, the deer-like mutation appeared. Flinging himself from the tree with uncanny speed, his small blade pierced through the heart of the herbivore turned carnivore beast. With quick hands, he chopped up his fresh kill and tucked it into a deerskin satchel that was previously swung over his back. The bloodied animal remains would tarnish the bag, but it wasn't something to really cause concern over, especially since he pelted the animal to produce another satchel.

With everything gathered that was of use (the fat, skin, horns, bones, and meat), he made a beeline back to his rocky cove that he called home. Waiting in the darkness far within the cave just off the north end of the cove would be his partner, a nineteen-year-old lass who he rescued when chaos first erupted. Finding her five years ago, the two hadn't split a day since then. Not lovers as one might suspect, the two were more of a father-daughter pairing. She was only fourteen when they first locked eyes and she pleaded for his help. Who was he to deny her?

Appearing in the frame of the cave, he gingerly removed his satchel and slide the bag against the cave's outer walls. "I see the fire still glows," his soothing voice spoke to the woman who was wrapped in a fox's pelt. "Would you mind cooking dinner while I try to waterproof our cloaks?" His hands pulled out large hunks of meat. Placing them on what looked like a clay plate, the brunette walked the dish to the woman. "I've noticed that the prey in the area have started to dwindle," he bit his lip, "Chumana, we might need to relocate."

Who was he kidding? This place was perfect. It was hard to get to and it was safe. Not to mention, they had a semi-fresh supply of water. There was no way in hell they would find a better place to call home. His hand moved to his head to give it a good scratch. "Gah, I'm a baka. I can just expand my range. I can hunt in the next sector with ease. Not like the distance is an issue," with a glimmer in his eyes, he looked down at his slender, toned body. "I love having speed on my side," he cooed with delight.

Green orbs turning away from her, the man wandered to the mouth of the cave and sat down. The skies opened and it began to rain, but he remained dry as he was just inside the cave's lip. As the water flowed down the hill, he pulled out the oil-like fat and began his handy-work waterproofing their cloaks. As his hands went to work, his eyes slipped to the large number 2 that was tattooed on his left palm just below the thumb.

His name was Ryker and he was one of an alleged eight who were gifted with superhuman powers. He, along with Ana (Chumana) were given these powers to prevent such events like this. Or, perhaps, they were brought forth to bring salvation to the planet. Either way, with their unique skills they could survive in the new terrain, and Ryker just couldn't help but wonder if their was a deeper meaning behind their existence. Graced with agility and endurance, the brunette would have no qualms surviving, even if only brought on by fleeing. But, having someone to protect, Ryker wasn't able to just up and run. He had someone to protect.

Eyes looking over at the woman, a smile washed on his face. Ana was a blessing and Ryker couldn't imagine surviving this chaos without her, and she knew it. Together, they were an unstoppable team.

He threw the lump of metal onto the pile with the rest, a pile of mixed machinery parts, rusting pipes, aged hoses, some tossed unceremoniously in small heaps others laid out in lines according to length. All the parts seem to resemble the makings of some engine. Alpha had been scouring then local area for several months now, trying to find parts, and then the old Toyota truck gave up the ghost too, so now he had to find parts and fix that first before he would have a chance to mend up the other machine. Alpha had set himself up pretty well, the ruin of the old castle sat on the south coast, and underneath housed a vast labyrinth of more modern bunkers. Thick walls that stood for hundreds of years now crumbling with the vines forcing their way through, yet still offered protection along with the moat on one side, and the steep cliff side on the other. It offered fantastic views for miles around. The old keep above was infested with giant screaming dactyls. That suited him fine, the aggressive creatures kept other things that roamed the area away. Alpha now left them alone, and they left him alone. When he had first came he had to kill the largest male, since then the dactyls had learn it was in their best interest to not bother Alpha.
Amongst the old tunnels he stored up supplies, and put together his rolls Royce engine. Laid out old torn maps, and worked out routes... He had a long journey, and was not sure if it was even possible, especially since it was so old. Alpha strolled out side around the old courtyards, vines creeping up the walls, mosses and ferns growing underfoot everywhere. He walked through an archway and into a wide flat area, the ground scorched and blackened amongst this cleared area was what appeared a huge pile of rocks, as Alpha grew closer it wasn't a pile of rocks, but rags, cloths, tarpaulin, all camouflaged with netting that resembled rocks, almost looking like a pile of debris from the ruined walls. He clasped a rope somewhere at the bottom of this pile, and pulled, the cloths slid backwards as he did, over a timber arch that beneath was a helicopter, ageing, the paint flaking here and there, holes had rusted through its fuselage at some points. Here and the freshly welded plates of metal had been attached, it's glass windscreen replaced with cut pieces of Perspex.
She'd get him to Iceland he was sure of that. But on from there he didn't know.

Alpha had been using the truck to scour airfields for parts and supplies, he had been lucky there was plenty of small airfields and military bases within ranging distance, but now without the truck, things may be a tad more difficult. Had all the parts he needed, but many were in dire need of being melted down for scrap. He wasn't planning on risking his life on junk.

Two days later

A low humm could be heard echoing through the old castle, it soon climbed to a whine, then a roar. The giant dactyls scattered from the devastated keep, screaming. The giant western and sea king rose from within the walls, dirty black smoke churning out of the exhaust, it versed towards the sea, before turning westward, below Alpha the talk white cliffs that had been his home for the last several years rapidly sped past, before disappearing eventually into the distance.

---------- Post added 11-26-2013 at 09:12 PM ----------

Red lights flashed and warning sirens sounded, he was going down he knew that.
If only he could make it to land
Alpha skimmed the helicopter above the waves in the distance he could see the freezing shoreline, he had lost too much altitude to glide in, he had only prayers and the fumes in the fuel lines.
Suddenly the engine made a last whine, then the blades slowed
"Oh shit"
The craft smashed into the freezing sea debris exploding, ricocheting like a stone being skimmed.

Somewhere amongst the flotsam Alpha clung to an empty fuel can, he began to swim to the shore in the distance. The water was so cold, he just had to keep moving or die.

Alpha pulled himself onto the hard pebble beach, he shivered uncontrollably, he stripped himself bare, and held his body tight, he thought to get the motivation, to reach into his bag, and pulled out a plastic wrapped package, and unwrapped a coarse brown thick cloth of some kind and wrapped it around. He turned slowly, and trudged towards some old ruin of probably a fishing village in the distance.

Alone in a cave a woman sat, staring at the low burning coals of a fire. No sound came from her as she kept perfectly still, and concentrated on listening to the life around her. The flickering light caught the young girl's piercings, as well as her red tattoos. These things certainly made her look older then she really was, as if her extreme height didn't already do such a thing. Ever since the change in the world, the sounds were so different, and chaotic that it was hard to find mother nature's melody any more. It sounded as if there was no balance left in the world, and to the young woman, she hardly thought there was any.

A smile crept onto her features as she heard him approaching. Even though she was seemingly left for dead, this man saved her life, and Chumana owed him everything. Turning her head, her bright green eyes met the form that swiftly entered the cave. Having been with Ryker for so long she had learned how to follow his movements even at the high speeds he could accomplish. Hearing the man's words, the woman moved to her knees, and then stood to accept the present of food. It was often times he left her to do the cooking. Try as she might, she couldn't teach that man what herbs were good tasting and how to use them to cook, but he just never seemed to get it. Though now it was harder considering things were so mutated, but Chumana was good at that kind of thing. So she tended to cook.

“Of course I can, I wouldn’t want you burning the food anyway.” She said with a bit of teasing in her voice. Standing, she stood quite a bit above the man, though their relationship was always him teasing her because she was younger, and her commenting on how short he was. Being 6’4” had some perks, but it was also annoying. Especially in the cave where she had to make sure not to hit her head on the ceiling in some lower areas, which was very annoying.

Looking up as she was working on preparing the meat, she quirked a brow as Ryker spoke again. This time about leaving. This hadn’t been the first time it happened, but it was the first time since living in this cave. Sitting back on her heels she looked up at him and then chuckled. The sounds was a cheerful and beautiful sound, something that was nice to hear when everything was so messed up with the world.

“Or I could just teleport you to another area, its not that hard.” She teased and shook her head letting out a laugh. Her small braids fell to the side of her face where she brushed them aside and looked up at Ryker. “You silly tsutla. You should learn by now that we will be fine. The gods will take care of us.” She said, calling him a fox in her native tongue as she always did. Turning back to her work the fire was soon roaring again and the meat on a spit above it, rubbed with herbs and covered in flavor enhancing things.

It had been four years since she had risen from her expierementation. She didn’t remember much. All that she had was images of blurry vision of going under for the enhancements made to her body, and a few of a man carrying her. Chumana had told Ryker about this but she believed that the fuzzy form of a man had ran with her in his arms, running from something, and hastily hid her in the hole in the tree base where she had been found by her dear friend. This man in her mind was probably the scientist, because at that time she had still been a small girl, it wasn’t until recently she reached the height of 6’4” and looked like an amazon. But she just couldn’t seem to remember anything, and it had been a hard adjustment to just be abandoned. Had Ryker not been there, she could only imagine how much worse it would have been.

Glancing to her wrist where the number 8 was tattooed upon her skin in a black so deep it stood out from all her other tattoos. Sighing softly as she heard the rain, she looked out into the world beyond the entrance and watched Ryker work with the fat. Both of them had grown fond of each other and close. It was hard to imagine life with out this silly man watching over her and to have no one to tease would just be miserable. Ryker was a light hearted man that kept up her spirits, and tended to bring out the young girl she was even though she was mature beyond her years.

Turning her gaze to the meat again she then sighed softly. She wished to visit the city again, to see if there was anything left of the science lab, and to see if they were the only ones. The feeling had been eating at her for a long time, and so much so that she didn’t think she could ignore it any longer. She felt like she was needed there.

“Ryker! The food will take a little while to cook, could we go somewhere for awail?” the native woman asked as she stood and sauntered over to the male with a slight smile on her lips. Whenever she acted like this he knew she wanted something. Seeing he had finished water proofing the cloaks she grabbed them and then grabbed his hand. Her red tattoos suddenly glowed and in a rush of hot air and the feeling of being thrown swiftly through the air hit them. With a hiss they landed at the edge of the city, and she gave the man a grin before hopping away a few steps so he couldn’t grab her too easy. “I felt like we needed to come here.” She said before he could complain. He hated to teleport with out a notice, any one did really.

The building was a gold mine. The dark haired girl had stumbled upon the building by accident, looking for shelter for the night. It wasn't overrun with plants, and the beasts hadn't gotten to it yet. That was rare in this day and age. The outside of it was crumbling and the sign was broken, with a large "JC Penn-" with the rest broken off. The inside didn't seem as bad as the out. Some of the clothing racks were toppled over, but nothing was really strange in the building. It would make for good shelter, at least for the night. She also took her pick at the large array of clothes that the building had to offer. Some of it looked looted already, probably from before most of the humans were wiped out. Only people would decide to steal during the end of the world.

After picking up an almost new shirt and replacing it with her old one, she picked up some other supplies. She grabbed some spare clothing, and put it in the bag that looked like it could hold together for a while. Most bags that she found barely lasted a week. They broke very easily, so she was picky about what she chose. Color and style didn't matter to her. Nor did brand name. She actually found that most of the brand name clothes and bags didn't last long.

When she settled on a bag, she found some weatherproof coats. There was a leather one that had fallen from where part of the building caved in. "Must be my lucky day or something." she said to herself as she put it on. It was a little tight, but it seemed like it would last. Since she didn't see any others like it, it would have to do.

After finishing her search, she opened what used to be a bedspread and laid it out on the floor. It was comfier than most of her normal sleeping arrangements. But, it was hard to travel with a whole bedspread. She couldn't bring it with. Hopefully, she could make this camp last a while. Eventually, when the beasts track her down, she would have to abandon it. Luckily, it seemed they had left this place alone for a very long time. Hopefully she could stay here for a few weeks.

Fighting was never her thing. She wasn't too good at hunting either. But, she did what she had too, even if she wasn't very good. At the very least, at least she had the ability to bail whenever something went wrong. Being able to fly did have it's quirks, she could say that much. And the solitude wasn't that bad. Although, she did miss human companionship from time to time. She hadn't found anyone else though. Most likely, she wouldn't again. Occasionally she will think of the other experiments. Her number was 07, so there had to be at least six more. And she believed that the scientist had talked about some "Number Nine."

If there were others, and they survived all that had happened, why hadn't she found any of them? She had tried to call out, but that drew the beasts' attention. So she hadn't tried that again. She knew that she was very close to where the experiments had been done. But, the place was in beast control. Sky wasn't going anywhere near there, that was for sure.

She laid her head on the pillow she found. Her last thoughts before falling into a much-needed sleep, were of the possibility of other experiments. Maybe there were, and maybe they died.

He sat by a fire within an old fishing hut, chains hung from the ceiling, gently, swaying with the wind that crept through the cracks in the rotting planked wall.
Alpha had flown from Dover to Newcastle without much incidence, occasionally flying low when he saw a group off dactyls flying nearby, the giant vulture like creatures, wouldn't care his aircraft was made from metal, they were extremely aggressive, almost hairless, sharp talons curved and about a foot long. It's beak jagged along its edges like a buzz saw. They had a nasty habit of pulling appendages and limbs from its prey, wounding them but not killing straight away. Alpha had pondered why that was, wether it was to keep the kill fresher for longer, or for the young to practice on, or maybe they were just god damned cruel. Neither would surprise Alpha in this new world, where even the most innocent looking plant would poison you with a venom, that would cause your body to turn inside out.
He had refuelled, and set of towards Iceland, a compass was no good anymore, with these electromagnetic storms, but he had good reference points as long as the shore was in sight, and traveled during the day so he could see the sun, it would have been a risk at night.
Once he had reached Iceland and emptied the random assorted containers onboard full of fuel into the helicopters tank, he had set off on the last leg of the journey. He knew he had just enough fuel to make the journey, just. But he had to avoid a storm and the winds were against him, all resulted in him travelling further than he hoped.
After he went down the water was freezing, it sapped him of his breath and his energy but he knew it was swim or die. The funny thing is, it wasn't the cold that worried him as he swam, but the things that lurked in the deep, he felt so vulnerable, miles of sea around him and below him, and no place to hide, waiting for something to grab him and drag him into the deep. Alpha didn't like that feeling, of not being able to fight back.
So he was glad to get to shore and find shelter. He had pulled off some roofing, and apart some rotted wood from an old hulk, and the walls, used a battery, and thin wire to get a fire going. He had managed to set up fishing lines from a jetty nearby, and caught several tiny fish, just enough to give his body the energy to warm up.
He now sat waiting out the night, and a snow storm that had started. With the dying light and snow, you could barely see five metres, and all you could hear was the muffled wind speeding past the ruins around him.

---------- Post added 11-28-2013 at 12:35 AM ----------

That's when he heard it, a deep rumble, barely audible over the storm. Alpha had to strain to hear, he thought he might be hearing things... Again. He opened his jaw to allow more sound to pass. This time there was no mistaking it a low rumble that he knew would probably carry miles if not through the filled air, but through the ground, he could feel it now getting stronger, vibrating under his backside as he sat crossed legged, stone still. A behemoth, they were the reason he had set westward through the bleak nuclear wasteland of Russia, rather than brave the journey over the pole to get to what remained of North America, and back to where it had all started. Again he heard it closer than ever now, there was no doubt it must be able to smell him by now, knew that it had prey nearby. Alpha knew he had to move, but to,outrun this thing would be some feat, and there would be no where to hide for miles around.
Somewhere nearby Alpha heard a crash, a building had collapsed. Alpha ran grabbed up his make shift satchel and ran outside, pulling an old tattered waterproof across his face peering into the squall. He listened and looked it seemed like an eternity before he saw it, a brief pause in the wind and snow. The giant bear what resembled a polar bear but bigger than any elephant. And an extra pair of legs, it's teeth overlapping and jutting out of its mouth.
Alpha broke out in laughter, the absurdity of it's odd walk, and how this thing had hunted and found him, and now he would probably die, as not even a mouth full, he hoped it would choke on one of his leg bones. He laughed again, his ribs hurt. He started reminiscing about his little castle he had, had it was relatively peaceful there, he could have just stayed there in peace... No no he had to come here, he wasn't meant to die there, and he didn't die here either not now.
A giant paw came crashing down half a yard away form Alpha. He snapped back to reality, and rolled to the side before another clawed pas swept where he's head would have been. He scrambled off all fours and went to run forward he's feet slipping in the snow, and receiving a powerful smack to his side, as he was sent spinning through the air. It took him half a second to realise what had happened. He was lying in a snow drift quite some distance from the bear. He looked around for cover, anything, he saw some type of old coal shed, he scrambled into it, somehow he had lost the blanket that he had wrapped around him, and the waterproof, was ripped almost off him. Cover and move, cover and move he thought to himself, what cover he heard himself say as the shed seem to explode, as the almighty beast smashed its head through the entrance, lifting its head up, raising the entire building, leaving Alpha standing in the snow, while the bear tried to shake the wreckage off so it could see. Alpha looked around
where can I go?
"Over here!" He heard a young boys voice call over from a snowdrift that had a few bits of twisted metal jutting out from it. He could just about perceive an outline of a person, a dark shadow made out of the falling snow. He ran towards it, but found nothing, darting his head left and right looking for the source of the voice, but then Alpha saw it a chain laying in the compacted snow, inside a giant paw print, the giant must have disturbed it. On the end of the chain was a hook, he wasn't sure where the other end was, but he grabbed it and spun as he raised it high, and placed it over his shoulder, the cold metal almost burned his hands and skin by his neck.
By now the behemoth had freed itself from the remnants of the old shed, and began to pound it's way towards its prey. Alpha ran towards it pulling the length of chain as he went, he aimed right between its front legs, the bear almost toppled as it stopped abruptly to get a purchase on the little thing darting beneath it. Alpha just about dodged its legs, and moved aside eloquently as a middle paw reached under to get him, he wasn't so lucky a microsecond after when the other claw belonging to the middle pair of legs dug deep into his calf. Deep red claret ejaculated over the snow, one burst of blood, sprayed then diffused into the white powder .Alpha growled with pain, and almost lost the chain and his footing, his knees twitched, with a heave he pulled himself straight and dodged the next blow, this time Alpha was ready and swung the chain with all his strength around the foot, it didn't catch, but the momentum of the swipe, sent the chain darting full length out of the snow and up into the air, coming down on the animals neck, it looked around as if slightly startled to see where this thing had come for, that hesitation gave Alpha the chance he needed no time for hesitation he thought, that was your mistake bug guy. He grabbed the chain, and clambered up onto the beasts back just behind its neck, it's fur and hide were so thick, and oily, but if he could just get to the eyes perhaps. But he would never get that chance, the behemoth realising it had a unwanted rider immediately went to roll, as it lurched side wards, it's neck stretched backwards it jaw wide open to make a snap at Alpha. He stood up letting go of his purchase on the coarse fur. And he leapt with all his might left in him, he flew through the whiteness pirouetting, and came crashing down against a sheet of corrugated metal, it's rusted edged lacerating his arm and shoulder, as it gave way and buckled.
The animal went to roll completely over, but as it went to get back up, it snapped back down to the ground, entangled by the chain around its neck, it had somehow got caught. It saw Alpha and let out a deafening roar, phlegm and a foul smell erupting towards him. It went to rush at him, as Alpha jumped back ready to dart out the way, he need not had worried the creature snapped back again the chain digging tighter into its fur. As the animal thrashed, Alpha saw a long piece of square metal tubing, it's end snapped to a sharp, point, instantly he seized it and running with a blood frenzy and a howl like some zulu warrior he rammed the metal deep down into the bears side, deeper and deeper it slid, the blood pressure squirting out the fluid from its veins, over Alpha, he tried to pull it back again, he's hands slippery with the blood. He just managed to do so, about three foot had penetrated its skin. The blood ran freely from its side. It writhed in pain and agony, once again making a charge at Alpha, this time the chain dug in hard, blood stared dripping from somewhere under the fur, as it cut in. Each time it moved, getting weaker and weaker, eventually after ages of Alpha standing staring at it, the whole area turning pink with it and Alphas blood. It lay still panting. Alpha walked over to its head
"We shed blood together today big fella", and brought the metal down through its eyeball, splitting it like a rubber ball.

All bundled up and settling in for the evening around the small fire that she had created inside a small shack in the fishing village Thistle was ready to wait out the night. She had been traveling for a few days from the north trying to get back to where it all started for her. She heard the storm brewing outside and was glad that she was inside. Staring at the fire she thought back to what had happened when everything started falling apart. She had moved to the North after the experiment had taken place as the idea was to protect them, they were to be scattered. She had chosen to go north as she loved the cold weather and knew that it would be easiest on her.

Hearing a loud thunderous roar pulled Thistle out of her thoughts and her head snapped up. She was slightly surprised, normally hearing a creature out here was rare. Her thoughts shifted to food for a moment as her stomach gave a low grumble. She stood up grabbing her satchel and her knife before stamping out the fire and walking out into the storm. She scanned her surroundings and since she couldn’t really see anything she started heading in the direction the roar came from.

After walking for a few minutes Thistle could make out what appeared to be an elephant sized shadow lying on the ground. She walked a little closer and was able to make out the shape of a human as well. Gripping her knife a little tighter she called out “Is anyone out here?” , she didn’t dare go any closer as she didn’t want to be too close if it turned out to be something dangerous. Remembering all the dangers she had faced on her way here she knew better then to try and draw attention. Also it wasn’t likely that she would find a human, most of the ones she has come across were dead and long gone. She could smell some form of blood in the air and Thistle shifted her feet slightly to get a better stance, if anything was going to attack she would be ready.

Alpha had stood over the Behemoth, contemplating what to do with the carcass, he couldn't stay here, it would attract more bears, or something's worse. He would take some hide and meat, perhaps use a tooth or two? Alphas adrenaline was pumping through up his veins, he wasn't taking note of his injuries, standing there. But then he began to feel it, the faintness his vision greying due to the sudden blood loss. He stumbled, his knees giving way, dang this snow is odd, it's all pink, he shook his head, he tried to push himself up, that's when he noticed his arm and leg, pain shot through his body, as he grimaced. Argh he felt his ribs tighten he didn't think any where broke, but they bloody well hurt, and would bruise up, bad. As he stood his vision blurred again, and began to grey out, he stumbled forward going face first into the cold snow, he could hear his own breathing slowing down, he would die right here just close my eyes and sleep
"get up, jack ass" the boys voice spoke again to him he opened his eyes and looked towards the voice, he could make out a figure in the distance "has anyone smelt bear"... What? That wasn't right
"Is anyone out here?" The voice was different, the figure wasn't of a boy, he could tell that "is anyone out here?" Alph could just make out two blue eyes peering towards him, two pieces of blue sky cut into circles
"Here!" Alpha managed to rasp out, he began to drift off, dreams of two pieces of ice piercing though him, getting larger and larger in the white mist that surrounded everything, he opened his eyes again the snow that was engulfing had turned purple, no that was hair blowing in the wind. "Over here" he called softly again. he punched a fist into the ground, and with his last strength pushed himself onto one knee up his head bowed... I don't die here, not now.

The young woman walked swiftly down a small path, her footsteps deliberate and thoughtful. Masuyo had little success while she was out hunting and all she wanted to do now was get back to the cavern that she now called home. Sounds of the ocean came from the distance, reassuring her that she was going the right direction. Her stomach reminded her once again that it had been since morning since she had last eaten anything. A soft sigh came from the woman, her pace slowing slightly. Right now she had a decision to make. Head back to her cave, where she barely had any food left, or head off closer towards the ruined city in search of food.

Masuyo came to a stop. She looked off towards her home then in the direction of the city. Her stomach grumbled at her once again, more loudly. A growl came from behind her. It wasn’t too close, but close enough to cause her some concern. Normally the creatures weren’t near this area, something had to be up. The young woman turned towards the direction from which the growl had come from, her eyes narrowed.

Things grew silent once again, making her feel uneasy. She readied her makeshift spear. Slowly the woman inched closer to the foliage, her body starting to blend into her surroundings. The change wasn’t entirely under her control. She fought it some as she didn’t want to blend in at least not yet. Rustling drew her attention away from fighting the ability she had gained from becoming an experiment. A strange looking creature that looked like some kind of boar cross stepped onto the path. It sniffed the air, growling and mumbling something she didn’t understand.

Even though Masuyo stood still, now almost perfectly blending into the surround foliage, she could feel herself trembling inside. The creature looked towards her, sniffing the air once again. It looked confused which allowed her to calm down some. She grinned, she hadn’t been found so she still had the element of surprise on her side. The creature moved past her, still searching for the source of the human scent it had been following. Getting an idea the woman tossed the spear she held over the creature’s head and into the bushes beyond.

The creature let out a loud growl and ran towards the bushes. Quickly she pulled a dagger from her boot and jumped onto its back, plunging the dagger into the creature’s neck. It thrashed around, trying to knock her off. She held on tightly, pushing the dagger in deeper. A loud roar came from the boar like creature as it grabbed ahold of her arm and throwing her to the side. Her left leg brushed against a tree before she landed hard on the ground. The young woman cursed under her breath as she forced herself to get to her feet. The dagger she had was still in the beast’s neck, but it had its hand on the hilt trying to pull it out. Now was her chance if she could get herself to move, her left knee was throbbing. With what strength she could muster she picked up the spear that lay on the ground nearby and ran towards the creature. She rammed the spear into the beast’s stomach with all her might. “I won’t die here,” she screamed as the boar like creature collapsed. It was dead finally dead.

Masuyo’s body was trembling uncontrollably as she let go of the spear and fell to her knees. A soft squeak came from her due to her injured leg. At least now she didn’t have to worry about food for a little while. Instead this posed a new dilemma, how was she going to get the meat home? For now that she wasn’t too concerned about it. The fight had left her exhausted and she needed to rest. Her only hope was that no more of these monsters were close enough to have heard the fight or smell the blood.

The beast was gaining a bit. Cion turned to look back behind them, at the mass of teeth and claws. “Well this is certainly one hell of a wakeup call.” It was not the time for jokes, but he was trying to lighten the mood a bit. Ahead of them, buildings stood in ruin. Cion scanned them, a few had creatures of their own lying in the darkness. Few dared to come out with this thing on their tail though. “You have to do something!” Cion looked towards Nine. “Do what…I have no idea where we are…what is going on here” his memories were a mess at the moment, and the odd pounding in his head was not going away any time soon.

“Great, stuck with the one experiment who has no idea how to use his abilities…that’s useful” Cion rolled his eye. “Duck!” he suddenly said. Nine dropped, in time to have the large beast go flying overhead as it made an attempt to pounce on them. Their way forward now blocked off by the beast. “Don’t suppose you’ve got any bright ideas then” Cion asked. “I...” Nine took a step back, the cat like beast giving a growl as it placed a paw forward.

The quill like appendages of its back rippling along with its muscles. Cion moved forward, putting himself between the beast and Nine. “Guess it’s up to me then” he said, “oh boy…” The beast roared, there was no way the little robot was going to be able to stand up to it. He’d be squashed in an instant. Nine’s hands went to his head for a moment, I have to do something…anything, he thought. The pounding in his head got a bit worse. The beast roared, jumping at them once more from where it stood. “Cion!” Nine reached out a hand, as if to stop the robot.

What he did not count on, was the rusted and broken down remains of a car nearby to follow the movement of his hand. A strange rush of feeling moved through his body, the car flying through the air slammed into the side of the beast in midair. It gave a surprised and confused yelp, before flying to the ground feet away with the car shell on top of it. Nine merely stared, confused and shocked himself. “Whoa, now that was close, thanks” Cion floated over, giving him a slight jab in the arm, “I thought you didn’t know how to use your abilities.”

“I…don’t…” Nine looked at his hand, had that really come from him? What was going on, what was all of this? It had to be a dream, it couldn’t be real. This, this was not the world, and people were not meant to do what he had just done. “I don’t mean to be a killer of the mood but look!” Cion pointed, the car shell was moving, and the beast was getting back up. They couldn’t sit around and wait for the beast to come after them again, the two of them turned, taking off once more.

No longer in the warmth of the cave (and surprisingly away from the rain), the two appeared before the foot of the outskirts of the distraught city. It felt like ages since he last let his olive orbs take in the ghastly view before him. The foliage still ran the town and slowly continued to destroy all hints at civilization and a previous life. There was nothing about the city that screamed liberty, happiness, or success. It was a ghost town that was plagued by the fall of mankind.

As Ryker's eyes scanned the horizon that Ana was sure to make them walk toward, he felt a lump form in his throat. He hating coming here more than he hated teleporting -- and that was saying something. The place brought back too many bad memories. Too many lives were lost here, even despite his best attempts. He was just outnumbered and out-clawed by the feral beasts. A solemn face embraced the harsh reality of the moment. There was no point dwelling over the past. Now, the present, was what he needed to focus on. Ana, essentially his pride and joy, was all that mattered. Salvation was no longer a move that could be made. Surviving was the only piece left in the game of life.

A chill ran down his spine as he continued to inspect the area. There was nothing here he wanted to see, and yet Ana brought them here. The woman had intuition, he gave her that, but she also posed a threat to their lives as she was still reckless in her actions. Why had she brought him here? Was there a disturbance in the force? He would need to get to higher ground and meditate to get a pulse reading of the planet and the beasts around them.

Within a mere second, Ryker was perched a nearby branch. He didn't see anything to far out of the ordinary that really shook him. There was a rabbit in the grass far to their left. To the right was a small snake that wouldn't pose a threat either. A few crows flew above them, circling what Ryker made out to be a carcass of a deer. As far as killer animals went, none popped up on his radar. But that was just the visual check. He would need to listen and feel now, as eyes could be deceiving. Closing his green orbs for a moment, he breathed in the world around him. His senses were honed by himself as he wanted to perfect his ability to hunt with stealth. He breathed in the scents around him and listened for the faintest of sounds. That was when his eyes popped open. Pupils contracting, the rusty-haired male stood up on his perch. Back erect for a moment, Ryker vanished into the sky. His ability to jump was peerless. Some would even mistake it for flight, but that was far from true. As his momentum flew him high into the sky, he saw what his eyes had not previously spotted. It was time to make his entrance.

When his feet graced the ground, not a blade of grass wavered. His hands, firmly planted on the ground, slowly lifted as he shifted from a crotch to a full-blown stand. On the balls of his feet, he easily stood 6-inches taller than she. With the sun to his back, he appeared as a dark silhouette before her hazel eyes. As her eyes opened in shock to his sudden appearance, they soon found the man gone. Was he an illusion? A mirage?

No, as just then a hand wrapped around her mouth. "Be still; I'm not the enemy, but I do need to get you out of here," his voice was soft like butter and warm like the sun. There was nothing threading about his tone; if anything, it had a calming affect on people. Before the twenty-three year old had a chance to do anything, she was high in the sky. That was part of the magic with Ryker. He was unbelievably fast. It took him three seconds to scare her, three seconds to move to cover her mouth, and three seconds to move her away from the three beasts that were about to attack her. As they were airborne, both were able to see the rage in the actions the three beasts took.

"My name's Ryker," he said just before he landed, "and this is my partner, Chumana." Petting Masuyo even to gently, he stepped away from the woman to let her soak in what just transpired. Those several seconds of her life probably seemed like hours, but the truth of it all was that a minute hadn't even passed. Smiling in an attempt to relax the woman he literally just swooped in and took, Ryker raised his hand behind his head before giving his ginger hair a good scratch. "Sorry," he said sheepishly, "I didn't mean to intrude or anything. I just didn't want to see you get devoured by the pack of beasts." With that comment, he turned to Ana. "Ana, I presume they'll be heading our way. Do we want to retreat? Or shall we stay and fight? We could use the extra meat," Ryker's eyes drifted to Masuyo, "especially if we have a guest who, by the looks of it, could use a home cooked meal."

OOC: Figured I would make it easy to know who Ryker was with so I underlined and bolded the characters also in the post. Blue, I hope it's okay that Ryker and Ana found you. And sorry about not giving her much time to react but everything Ryker did was in a split second so reaction time isn't really a "thing." If it's a problem, just let me know and I can alter my post some.

Chumana shook her head as she saw the look in Ryker's face. He hated this place more then anything, which is why she hadn't really given him a choice and just teleported. Giving him time to make her feel guilty about thinking of coming to this abandoned city always resulted in her never going. The girl always felt like she was betraying her father whenever she went against Ryker's wishes. Sighing softly as she looked around, she had the most recent memories that they knew of for their experiment father. The hazy memory o fa man carrying her in a rush of desperate movement came back to her mind's eye.

Looking down at her wrist where the number eight resided, permanently etched into her skin, the woman looked up again. Nothing seemed out of place. No place of human civilization not overrun by plants and wild life. It amazed her how much Mother Nature had become mutated in such a short time. Walking over to a car rusting out and covered in plants, she glanced through the dirty glass to see no signs of life ever being inside. Yet being here, she still felt in her gut that she was missing something.

Glancing back to Ryker as he jumped, she then took the moment and swiftly trotted to the end of the street section and looked down all four streets. Why could she never remember where the lab was? Ryker knew, but he never talked about it. Chumana didn't have the heart to ask him anyway. Suddenly with a rush of air, he was back at her side, but this time with another woman. Shock ran through her system as she looked down at the other female and then noticed her injury. "She's hurt Ryker." she said bluntly and was about to pull out her satchel of herbs when there was a roar.

Spinning on her heel, she saw the huge quilled beast, snarrling at something behind a pile of rubble. "Ryker keep her close. I think we may need to fight this one out." she said, her hand touching the dagger case on her thigh. Suddenly her bright green eyes landed on a robot, and not just any robot. "Cion!" she said shocked. Of all the things she remembered about her enhancements, it was the robot that had cared for her the most. "I got this one." she growled suddenly. Taking off at a run, she let out a yell. The beast looked towards her and then suddenly was crushed by a car. Stopping in shock, she looked to the robot and saw a male behind him. "Cion!" she called, and disapeared with a pop and appeared next to the robot and male.

"Don't freak out. I'm here to help." the woman said firmly and then smiled down at the male reassuringly. She was just freakishly tall. "Cion keep him back, I will kill this beast." she said smoothly and then reached out before her, and suddenly a quiver and bow landed in her hand. Pulling the quiver on her back, and taking the bow in hand, the woman drew an arrow. Aiming at the beast under the car as it rumbled and shook, she pulled back and released as soon as she saw the beast. It hit its chest, the only part not covered in quills. As it reared in anger, she teleported again, shooting an arrow at its back to make it turn. As it saw her again, the beast charged, and she grinned. Shooting his chest again, the beast nearly got to her, but like smoke, she was gone through his grasp. This time she was on top of the rusted car. Her bare feet feeling the rusted metal and intune with the rumble of earth from the beast turning one more time.

Taking in a calming breath, the native woman met its gaze as it charged. "Your spirit will not be in vain. Join your kin in the plains of paradise." she said and released the arrow. It smashed through the beast's eye and out the other end of the skull. Blood spattered the ground with a sickly black color as the body skidded along the ground and stopped. Smiling proudly, she sent a grin to Ryker knowing he taught her the way of going at different angles to kill. He probably also nearly had a heart attack that she took this beast by herself, but she also made a point that she could take care of herself.

Walking down the car with a fluid grace, she spoke under her breath in her native tongue, and knelt in front of the beast. Holding her hands over it's head, she released the soul of the beast as was customary of the hunters of her village, and then stood. Smiling brightly, as her nose piercing caught the light, she approached Cion and the male again. "Cion, I don't believe it! I am so happy you are alive and well." she said and reached out to pat the robot's head as she used to do when she was young. Turning to the male, she looked him over and then offered him a smile as well.

"I am Chumana, and I see that you and Cion here seem to be friends. Any friend of Cion is a friend of mine." she said lightly, her accent coming out more then usual. "Would you two like to join us back at our cave? Ryker and I have a bit of meat cooking and with this new kill, I will make more for so many people." the woman explained lightly and then motioned for Ryker to come over. As nice as she could act, the woman still came off as cool, and very strange. Her people had never been around city folk or really was seen by many white skinned people, so it was always something hard for her to deal with making a good impression.

Avoiding the eyes of the new male, the female slowly walked back a bit and waited for Ryker to approach. She didn't like seeing how people viewed her. Ryker had a large heart, he was able to accept her because he had raised her ever since she was saved. But these people really only saw the 6'4" amazon like, tattooed, pierced, and weird clothed woman. Plus with her powers of teleporting being used and shown, that just added another oddity to her nature. Realizing this she mentally receded back into her usual quiet and distant demeanor towards new people.

Thistle heard a raspy sound and jumped slightly. Looking towards it she saw what appeared to be a human figure slowing rising off the ground. She started moving closer until she saw the actual man; she noticed his wounds quickly as well as the beast on the ground close by. She realized that he was not going to harm her so she put her knife away and knelt down saying “You’re injured”, she pulled off her glove and held out her hand towards him. She wanted to see if anything was stuck in the wounds or if anything was broken; an infection out here would not end so nicely. She paused for a moment saying “This may seem weird, but I mean no harm.” After that she grazed her fingers through his injuries, she found nothing broken and shards that she found she pulled out easily. Her power to change her density made cleaning out wounds and searching for broken bones easily as well as painless. After she was done cleaning the wound she looked at him while putting on her glove saying “Alright, they are cleaned out of debris, but I can’t do anything else out here. I need you to at least stand up so I can help support you back to the village and into a shelter.”

As Thistle waited for him to stand up she stood up and walked over to the beast. She knew that the man wouldn’t die but in order for him to get a better patch job so she took the liberty of taking a look at the beast. Walking around it she was impressed by how he managed to kill it, she knew that if it was her in that position it would not have been done as he had. She figured that she could get some meat off of it the next day, growing up she figured that other animals would not be showing up until the next afternoon. She also knew that now since there was two of them she would need to get more supplies and this beast would sure help in the food department.

Walking back over to the man Thistle said “It’s a really nice kill, not to messy either so others won’t be attracted until tomorrow afternoon. So if you still want to get things off of it you can go get rested for the night and come back tomorrow. You will also be able to see better tomorrow anyways.” She stood beside him now and waited for him, she was ready to get him back to the village, though she knew that it would be tough if he couldn’t walk.

Masuyo didn’t even have time to blink. Everything seemed to be happening so quickly. One moment she was in front of the beast she had killed, pulling out her dagger when she heard movement in the distance. Next thing she knew there was a man in front or behind her or both then she was carried off to the edge of the city. Her head was spinning and ached though she couldn’t tell you if it was from moving so quickly or maybe from blood lose. Realizing the dagger was still in her hand she dropped it, staring at the blood for a moment.

The young woman was snapped back to the present by the man’s voice. Ignoring the pain and what felt like blood trickling down her leg she looked at the man as he spoke to her. She was unsure if the blood was her own or what had come for the beast she killed. He looked slightly familiar to her, but her mind could have been playing tricks on her. “Umm…thank you for saving me. I’m Masuyo.” So there had been more monsters like she thought.

Masuyo shifted a little uncomfortably. Dealing with new people was never one of her strong suits and after what just happened she was still having a little bit of a hard time processing things. Upon finally processing what the other woman had said she looked up at her. “It’s alright…I just,” before she could finish there was a roar and the other woman was running off.

She watched in amazement as the younger woman teleported and fought the beast. She didn’t even really notice the robot or boy who had come from where the facility was. “So the rumors about other experiments are true,” she half whispered to herself. A shooting pain in her leg reminded her once more about her injury. Reaching into a pouch that hung from her belt she pulled out a bandage to wrap her lower thigh and knee for the time being.

Still watching three near the quilled beast she slowly moved to lean against a rusted car. The woman wrapped her leg. “Ryker, was it? May I ask how you knew where I was?” Truly she wanted to know as she could have sworn there was no one nearby. “I mean, other than that pack of beasts there wasn’t anyone around. If there had been I would have known.” After asking her question she lowered her eyes slightly thinking it had been a silly one to ask. She somewhat expected to get a sarcastic answer about how she should be more observant or how it was stupid of her to be in such a place alone.

More roars came from the forest, it wouldn’t be long before the pack of three beasts would be upon the group. Taking a deep breath Masuyo calmed herself, readying to fight once again. Her only thoughts of being how she wasn’t going to let harm come to the people she just met and helped her. She scanned the area quickly for something she could use to help separate the monsters and make them easier to take down. A piece of old telephone line stretched out across the street and grass gave her an idea. “Help me. If we string this across where the beasts come out from we might be able to separate them so they are easier to take down.” She tugged on the cable, almost stumbling back when it came lose. The woman had a sheepish grin on her face as she tried not to laugh at how pathetic she must look at this very moment.

Just as Ryker expected, the monsters came. It was nice to know that some things in life were still predictable. As Ana jumped out to defend, Ryker followed Masuyo behind the tree. While the woman tried to piece everything together, the rusty haired male attempted to give her some simple first aid. It wasn't much, but at least the blood wasn't visible anymore. With a good final tug and a proper bow, he smiled up at the woman before standing again.

When her lips finally parted and she questioned him, Ryker laughed. "You probably don't remember it, but we were pretty high in the air for a while. As you assume, I was part of a group of experiments. My enhancement was agility. I can jump and run faster than anything you've ever seen before." Ruffling her hair, he continued. "I'm one of those 'older experiences' so I've had a while to really master my senses. I've trained myself to feel and hear what the eyes cannot see. Although I could not sense you, I could sense the monsters. Most monsters don't circle in that sort of pattern unless there's something in the center. When I took to the sky, I saw you and knew I needed to step in." Bashfully, he cheeks flushed. "And it has nothing to do with being a hero." The redness slowly faded. "It just has to do with making sure everyone's alive and happy."

By the time he was done explaining, the situation had new twists and turns. New arrivals had appeared out of the tall grass. Although Ryker didn't necessarily know them, he did see two objects rustling the grass a few paces back. He had miscalculated their speed and direction. With a heavy exhale, he was at least thankful that these two were friendlies rather than foes.

When a cable box was tossed at him, he looked down at it with a dumbfound expression. He missed a part of what Masuyo had said, but he did catch the part about needing to wire it up properly. In a jiffy, he followed suit and had everything in place that needed to be. Green orbs turning back to see what his next move was, he caught a glimpse of the woman fumbling and falling. "Better watch it! Wires like to do the wiggle, or so I was told!" Poking his tongue out, he let the woman know he was just teasing.

With the wire in place to slow the monster attack, Ryker had enough time to check on Ana's well-being. Brow cocked, he moved back toward Masuyo. She seemed rather smart, perhaps she knew who these other two men were. A look of distrust glimmered in his eyes as he tried to piece everything together. "Masy, do you know who those two are?"

"You’re injured” a soft voice stated gently. Alpha glance up, and there they were the two bright sapphires that ate through him, piercing him like ice daggers, they seemed so fitting out here Alpha found himself thinking, amongst the cold and ice, her hair whipping across her face in the biting wind, a red ribbon entangled barely staying in place.

"This may seem weird, but I mean no harm"
He had noticed her hands were empty, but also noticed the handle of the blade slipped down inside her boot. She could have slipped the cold metal into his side quite easily if she had wished, he was still dazed, but starting to come around and realise the situation, as if waking up from a dream.

As she reached her hands out he didn't flinch. She wasn't lying. But he hadn't fully expected what happened next, a cool sensation swept down his arm, and through his leg, as her hand seemed to diffuse through his goose pimpled flesh. He felt the coolness in his injuries, but felt a shiver go up his back, from her ability, or from the realisation that Alpha had just worked out. She was definitely one of them, one of us...

This young girl pulled her hands slowly away, it looked strange, as though a liquid had just poured out of him, in the shape of her palms, as she did so Alpha noticed no blood.
“Alright, they are cleaned out of debris, but I can’t do anything else out here. I need you to at least stand up so I can help support you back to the village and into a shelter.”

The girl turned slightly and made towards the downed Behemoth, Alpha pulled the torn waterproof tighter around himself. He stood up gingerly trying to keep his weight off his injured leg, and straightened himself as best he could, trying to cling onto the rags against the strong breeze. The girl turned back to walk towards Alpha

It’s a really nice kill, not to messy either so others won’t be attracted until tomorrow afternoon. So if you still want to get things off of it you can go get rested for the night and come back tomorrow. You will also be able to see better tomorrow anyways"
She stood beside him, her eyes on him.

"Im okay now" grumbled Alpha reassuringly "I've had worse" he said almost dismissing his injuries. He made a push to walk forward, just as he was almost about to he stumbled again, his injured leg not quite stretching properly, his hand catching her shoulder.
"Well okay, almost worse" this time he was more careful and limped slightly, but managed a step.
"Yes shelter tonight, lets get through this crappy weather first."
Alpha could see through the white veil the shattered remains of the shed, somewhere near there was his hut he had hold up in, and his clothes drying.
"I don't know where you came from Hun, but somewhere over in that direction, is my shack, and my clothes, what do you say shoot over there and grab my gear, then get out of this damned snow?"

They made their way quickly through the fast falling snow, Alpha ducking his head, pulling the collar up over his nose and mouth, every often leaning on the girls shoulder, only after a minute or so they reached the place that Alpha had made shelter, he quite roughly shouldered the door, it bursting open abruptly threatening to spin off its hinges, and he crashed down by the embers of what remained of his fire. Out of the snow and wind he could see and hear better. And he could see her, and knew. So"he said looking up at her and giving himself half a pause "you're one of us?"

Thistle watched the man stand up and as he tried to step forward. When he grasped onto her shoulder she flinched a little then smiled saying “Well at least you can walk a little, if I had to find another way to transport you we may have been out here a lot longer.” She walked right beside him in case he needed help she was there and ready. She nodded when he agreed to finding shelter for the night to get out of the weather and was glad that she wouldn’t have to deal with someone who was determined to get what was needed right away.

Hearing that he has come from basically the same direction Thistle was confused a little, if he had been nearby then she should have heard him, but she hadn’t at all. She figured that it was probably because of the storm and all the noise it was making that it drowned out any that he would have made. She followed him in the direction that he pointed out so that he could get his things.

When they reached the small shed Thistle looked around at it and noticed that it really wasn’t the best place to take shelter. The building itself was beaten up, the door was proof of that and the looks of the outside was too. When she was inside she was looking around and briefly saw fall to the floor she reached out as if to grab him but he fell before she even got the chance to.

Thistle looked down at him, for the first time she could actually see what he looked like besides just a blurry image. He looked a lot older that she was but strong and prepared for what was needed to be done. She was glad for that as she really didn’t feel like trying to pull dead weight around. His question shocked her though, she turned and looked around a bit more while saying “If you mean a survivor of this mess, then obviously yes.” She walked around the fire a bit still looking around she wasn’t really big on telling people she was an experiment as she didn’t feel like being used.

Memories of Thistle’s past flashed through her mind of when the disaster first happened how her small village all depended on her. With that the guilt of how she had failed them came across as well. Turning back to him she was back to her normal self and said “When did you find this place? It doesn’t really seem like an extremely safe place. The walls are thin to the outside your escape route barely opens…” she faded off before she finished her sentence. Looking over his wounds again she said “Are you sure that you don’t want me fix those up? I mean they might heal faster that way.” She really didn’t mean to complain about the shelter he had found she was just making sure they were safe. She had lived this far and didn’t plan on dying anytime soon.

There was no doubt in Masuyo’s mind that her face was probably beet red. Of course it was both from her fumbling around and Ryker’s joking. Despite the recent events and what was currently happening meeting these new people made her realize just how much she missed being around other people. She had been alone for so long.

Her attention turned back to the others after hearing his question. She shook her head. “The boy doesn’t look familiar. The robot kind of does though. If I’m remembering correctly they were making a prototype for some kind of robot that would be very important in the future during the time I was at the facility. I don’t know how or way the robot was going to be important.” Masuyo was now standing beside the taller male, her eyes still on the figure of the robot and boy. She was curious about all of them.

The expression on her face had turned to a more serious one. Her hazel eyes looked slightly downward as she tried to make more sense out of everything. It was all really curious. Something had to have drawn them all here. After all it appeared that none of them really knew that the others existed with the exception of Ryker and Chumana. “What exactly is going on? Why is it now at this time and place we are finally meeting?” The young woman didn’t even realize she was asking the question that were going through her mind out loud. Masuyo wasn’t really sure of the answers, but she wanted to find them out and soon. If she wanted to be truthful with herself about things her instincts told her that the five of them meeting was both a good and bad thing.

Cion looked the woman over as she spoke to him. When she introduced herself to Nine, he tapped his faceplate lightly. It was not until she turned away, that he turned to Nine. “I…have no idea who that is” he says. “One way to find out though!” he floated over, moving around in a circle around the three. One by one he then scanned them as he had done with Nine, stating their experiment numbers, their names, ages and power sets. He then nodded a bit, “alright, got it.” He looked at the three of them the over at Nine. “Well don’t just stand there, get over here” he sighed. Taking a breath, Nine slowly moved to stand by Cion. It was not that he was overwhelmed by appearances, he had just never met other people, and he was unsure about all of this since he had no memories at the moment.

“Two, Five, Eight…meet Nine” Cion said, making introductions a bit. He made a slight circle around Nine, before moving over to stand by Eight’s side. “I think it’s best if we move to this cave you mentioned to talk, out in the open is…less than plesant at the moment..” Nine’s mind steel reeling from what had just happened to him, the moving car, these three people, all of this. It felt like a dream or a nightmare, he wondered if he would wake up any moment to this being a joke, but he doubted it. He had no choice but to go with them at the moment, they had in a way saved his life, and if Cion trusted them, they couldn’t be bad right? He needed answers to, this seemed the best way to get them.
(Sorry it is so short x.x. Not much time)
