Hi Mr wrong! How cold is it where you are? My ninja mask is made of pink fleece. You pull it over. There's a chin piece you can pull up. When I wear it, I have inexplicable urge to leap out at doorways.

Hello, Dazz. Highway 97 through Oregon has been hit with much snow recently. How do I know? Because I'm in it. So much so that I decided to put chains on them thar tires. And I chipped a nail puttin' 'em on, too. Well, no more slipping and sliding like they do in those snowy car crash compilation videos.

While cruising along at the breakneck speed of 30 mph, I came upon a tractor trailer that had slid off the road, but remained upright. I didn't look like any State Police had checked it out, so I stopped to see if anyone was home. I struggled through waist deep snow (with shorts on) and banged on the door. The driver was ok. Said he was waiting for a wrecker to come. I offered him food and water. He only needed water. Fortunately, his engine was still running, so he was keeping warm that way.

On my way back to my own tractor, a verbose snow plow driver stopped to check on us. He told me that further up the road, driving conditions would improve. That didn't happen. Then he told that all plow drivers were working 12 hour shifts. 12 on. 12 off. Thanks. I needed to know that.

Now I'm parked at Gordy's in La Pine where the remainder of the unplowed dirt lot is covered in waist high snow.

In case you were wondering, it didn't take long to regret wearing shorts tromping around in deep snow. All that cold started stinging me. Negative outcome. Not good. I was NOT enjoying a cold one. But my tractor heater works well, and I recovered quickly.

More snowy misadventures tomorrow..

I've been amazed by news stories about the amount of snow they have received in Oregon!
We have been getting snow in Denver about once a week or so...this last storm left 8 inches at Denver International Airport...though, where we live got about 5 inches.
The BF has been kept busy plowing snow in the mountain communities where we used to live.
I am glad to hear that the stranded trucker was safe and unhurt! ...but, seriously, you need to invest in some pants or coveralls to throw over your shorts before traipsing through deep snow! I'm glad you recovered with no lasting effects!
The mention of waist-deep snow reminds me of my grandfather's reference to deep snow as being ass-high to a tall indian!
Stay warm and safe travels to you!

Stupid me. There was a haphazard trail from the road to his passenger side door about five feet long I didn't see until I returned to my tractor to fetch him water. Arriving on the scene, I tromped through five feet of low snow to his 53 foot long trailer and then wading through waist high snow along some of that 53 feet of trailer. I paid for that mistake.

I actually only own three pairs of pants. Two are athletic long pants and the other is a tan pair of pants similar in style to Dockers. I used to own dress pants, but I only wore those once or twice. I don't even own any real winter weather clothing.
I should invest in a nice Carhartt jacket, Carhartt gloves, work boots and winter boots, serious winter headgear, and some BDU pants. My hypernomadic lifestyle ensures I'm never in a cold place for a long time. Yesterday I was in snow. Today, it's 55° outside.

It’s time sites like mocospace become obsolete and replaced with online avatar social communities.
