The first O in volcano is pronounced like the O in Golf. It is not pronounced as an A, as it is an O.

It wasn't a super kind review, but I mean, most adults sitting around playing a boardgame are probably going to be a bit tipsy, so it's all good right? XD

I, too, actually liked his review of Furt, The Volcano Speaks or whatever the name of the game was. xD
I haven't heard of Quelf either, but I think I would agree with his criticisms. That was what I was thinking of too when he explained it.

The volcano is probably an annoying piece of papercraft to put together, but I bet it's easy to add your own words to the mix, spice it up a bit.

I've never heard of this game.

Hi hi Damia. I hadn't heard of it either, but it was the one that jumped out at me at the calendar store. We were talking about how those shops that spring up in malls around the holidays are the best place to get boardgames because after Christmas all the stuff goes on sale and the shop disappears until the next year. So after we talked about that, I went to the mall after work tonight. It was pretty picked over in the games section and I didn't need 50 different varieties of Monopoly or Dragon Ball Z Yahtzee

Anyway, after reading a few boxes, that's the game I settled with. Now I just need to find a place to set it up and invite friends over some day!

I definitely want to hear all about how the game went, Cookie!

Have you ever done anything via Meetup.com? I'm trying to think of other examples - there are a bunch of bars or restaurants by me that have a 'bring your own board game night' and such, and I know there are hobby groups like that via Meetup as well. Maybe there would be a spot at a public restaurant or bar that would have something like that by you?

I definitely could never host a board game night at my current apartment, unless I make everyone sit on the floor. We have couches and a coffee table, but no big kitchen table or any real way of arranging the couches for more than three people to sit on a couch... -shrug- Oy!

I might take it over to my cousins' house and force them to play it with me. That might be the easiest way to bust it out. Cook some yummy food and play some games.

I mean, I say there's no place to host here, but we do have a dining room that we never use. It's just that we have a super old and very expensive decorative china cabinet in there and ever since I was a child I've had this fear of smashing the curved glass. I could have guests in there, but I'm not sure I trust people enough to not break my grandmother's fancy china cabinet. But if I cleaned out the room (cause it's as cluttery a mess as the rest of the house) we could play games in there as well.

I sometimes entertain the notion of getting my hands on a kotatsu for the basement. It seems a perfect thing to have down there in winter. Everyone sitting around at the heated table. :D

how did the game go?

I haven't even opened the box yet. I'm not going anywhere today with all that snow blowing around. It's fluffy, which just means every time the wind blows, you can't see a thing. I won't even attempt to shovel it until the wind calms down a bit, cause it will just blow back to where I just shoveled!

Yeah, I'm hoping that will make it easier to shovel once the wind calms down. It's still snowing. Not sure when it's supposed to stop. My mom texted me bugging me for snow pictures. As if they won't look exactly like the last time I sent her snow pictures. -_-; Just go look at the old ones, it's the same.
