@Granny: He used to hide them for me when I was a kid. I was the youngest grandchild for 15 years and my older cousins are 7 and 10 years older then me, so it was just me for a long while. I think moving in reminded him of when my mom and I used to practically live with my grandparents.

Well Granny, I'm from the Mainland, but my Mother's family is from the island of Vile up in the mountainous region and I think some of the traditions there are similar to this Japan you mention. :yes:
