My cat doesn't climb it luckily. She just sleeps under it (we call her our furry Christmas present, lol) and she tries to bat at the lower branches and the ornaments on them. She did knock over a few Christmas trees fighting other cats though when we had other kittens.

Sorry, I don't really know if there's a way to stop ur cats. But at least your cats didn't tried and eat the tree. My friend's cat tried eating it and my friend got very mad. :)

lololol, that brings back memories XD what we did, before they got old and fat, we would put it up on the table, and put the presents on the edge of it. It wouldn stop them from jumping up :]

Our cats have seemed to grow out of it. The best we could do was make it difficult for them to get under the tree by cutting it pretty low, piling presents underneath, and we put a cute little white picket fence around the tree.

Wow, I've never even thought of this problem.
I guess that's why we keep our cat on the sunporch in the Winter...

To be honest, I have no idea how. My cats do the same. And they also try and eat the tree and garland and play with the ornaments, especially when they fall in the floor.

I badly wanted a Christmas tree this year but I have three cats. We held off on getting one again because of all the problems we'd have with the kitties trying to climb it or knocking it over. I think next year we'll get one but put it in the computer room, which we keep our cats out of unless they are supervised. In short.. no way to stop them and probably easier to just keep them away from the Christmas tree. o:

I don't have cat's anymore but I did have to keep my boyfriend's cats out of the tree during new year. that was fun. Burly is a biiig cat and he wanted to be in the tree the most.

I have a misting bottle, like the kind you use for hair. I mist my cats when they do something wrong, and they generally stop very quickly.
