It all just happened so fast. No one could believe it at first. And no one could understand it either. There was panic, chaos, and so much death. The night was so peaceful that no one could have predicted it was happening. The night sky suddenly began crackling with red lightning as a gigantic tree sprouted up out of no where. It wasn't in no way peaceful. Roads, buildings, everything too close to the tree was instantly destroyed killing no telling how many people. And that, that was just the start of it.

Within the same hour strange seeds began floating from the tree. All the dust from all the destruction hadn't even been settled yet. And thousands of people were still unknown to even be dead. And where ever the seeds landed, saplings sprang forth. Not normal saplings either. But saplings that were taller than houses began popping up all over the city. More death, but it doesn't just stop there.

Along with the seeds came even more chaos and even more panic. It was horrifying. Absolute heart stopping fear. Because with the trees everything everyone knew was changed. The trees produced a strange fog that had an even stranger odor. It was almost the same smell as gasoline mixed with the smell of a skunk. And this fog had weird affects on people. Some good and some bad. Some people were unluckier than others.

The fog changed us in strange ways. Some could begin shifting into animal forms, while others became terrifying creatures with feathered red and black wings. They had hollowed black eyes, sharp teeth, and a bottomless appetite for anything alive. They caused so much more death and wiped out so many before they realized what had even happened.

Along with the shapeshifters and the monstrous creatures, other changes popped up. Humans with the ability to die and come back to life, humans who were forced to feed on strange addictions in order to survive. Whatever this fog was, it turned a person into their deepest desires. Whether they are truly dark or whether they just loved life.

We call the dark creatures Fallen Angels, because it is exactly what they look like. But they are in no way angels.

Some humans remained human. They remained the same, but the world around them had changed so drastically. It was difficult for them to survive against such creatures. Not to mention the rapid spread of the trees that destroyed entire cities around the world leaving nothing but destruction.

Over the years humans scattered across the world, living, surviving in a cruel world. The Shifters usually weren't harmful to the humans and some even lived among them.

It was the Fallen Angels they feared. They reproduced and spread. Even the smallest darkness in one's heart caused them to turn into a Dark Angel during the early days of the fog.

Now, exactly a hundred years after the Yggdrasil bloomed, not much has changed. Dark Angels have taken over the cities, Shifters are able to live around them only because they are not fully humans. And humans... what is left of them, have been forced to hide below ground or far off from whatever remains of old cities. Sometimes that's not even good enough though.

I guess the question comes down to - what are you?

About Yggdrasil and the World Today

Yggdrasil is the tree of life and death. That day it had caused much change to sweep over Earth. The saplings of the original tree spread throughout the entire world and over the years came rapid growth of them all. Over the decades the location of the original tree became lost, but it still stands strong. Each Yggdrasil is extremely strong and cannot be destroyed in any way. Those who attempt to destroy the trees are immediately killed by a fog similar to the one that spread in the early days, except this fog melts all the flesh from ones body. No chance to live through that. The immortals cannot even come back from that death. The fog refuses to let their bodies regrow.

Even though a hundred years has passed since the Yggrasdil bloomed, the Earth is still full of destruction and no actual cities from before exist anymore. With the Dark Angels came more destruction. They, however, have rebuilt some parts of certain cities to provide more comfort for themselves, but neither humans nor the shifters dare to go near. Most shifters live in the outskirts of cities, if they do live in the city that is. They have rebuilt basic home structures and markets that had to be approved by the Dark Angels. The markets help provide food, clothes, and other goods to the people that live there.

Humans are scarce, but they are still there. Thy have several different underground settlements away from the cities. Some even dare to try and blend in with the Shifters and some Shifters will hide them. But the Dark Angels destroy humans on sight. Their blood rejuvenates their bodies and gives them nearly immortality.

During the first years, Dark Angels were forced to feed from humans in order to sustain life. But over the years as the human population began to dramatically decline they were forced to evolve. And evolve they did. They were then able to eat food and drink liquids that did not from a human body. After this evolution the Dark Angels thrived. They were the rulers of this new world.

More information will pop up here from time to time.

Character and Species Information

Dark Angels

History: The Dark Angels appeared the same night the Yggdrasil bloomed. No one, not even the angels, know where they really came from. Their actual history is a complete mystery in every sense. It was as if they just "popped" up out of no where. Where did they come from? Who were they? Why were they created in this world? No one can answer those questions. But even with such questions, the Dark Angels rose with great power to take over the world. The first of them were extremely evil and could not control their own bodies. They devoured anything alive, killed thousands, and gained control in a matter of hours as fear from them ripped through the world at a great speed.
Over the course of years, the Dark Angels evolved into a better controlled species. They could control their hunger and their bodies along with their minds. It was an uneasy transformation, but in order to sustain life they were required to eat and drink from living flesh. And in order to keep things balanced they were forced to control themselves or starve.
Over many more years they learned to behave as if they were still humans and could eat human food and drink human liquids to survive. Though human flesh was still a desired dish for them because the blood of a human would give them near immortality. After feeding on humans many more years of unaging life was given to that Dark Angel.
When this was discovered, Shifters and anything else not entirely human were ignored by the Dark Angels. The only blood they want now is human.

General Appearance: All Dark Angels have feathered wings. The wing colors have changed over the years as they evolved. Some have white wings, others red or black. Multicolored wings are possibilities as well. Over the years their appearances have really expanded and they have more human-like facial structures than before. They can change their teeth into sharp razor points, turn their eyes solid black, and grow sharp claws on will.

Personality: This part is entirely up to you. Most Dark Angels are moody, extreme, rambunctious, and have a dark side to them. I will allow a few Dark Angels with a nicer personality.

Note:
There are a limited amount of slots for anyone who wants a Dark Angel that help humans and rebels against their fellow Dark Angels. This also applies for friendly ones. As stated above, most Dark Angels have dark hearts and only show any mercy and compassion for their own species.

Shifters

Story: Shifters were rumored to have been around before the Yggdrasil bloomed, but were extremely rare. After the tree came, Shifters became very common. It is said that one turns into the animal they love the most. That was the lucky ones. Others has negative shifts that only caused them to become "assembled differently" to where their body was no longer able to function properly and they died from the inability to shift back. The lucky ones, however, soon learned how to control both human and animal form.

At first it was total chaos for the shifters in the sense that their first turn was uncontrollable. Imagine a city full of people where some turned into large predatory felines and others may have turned into calm and peaceful omnivores. Nature took it's course and many more lost their lives.

But once the dust settled down and weeks passed, the Shifters learned to control their bodies and learned how to shift back and forth on command. A Shifter can only turn into one animal, whatever animal they were either changed into during the fog, or whatever they were born into. All sorts of Shifters exist. Some can turn into normal cats, dogs, and other pets. While others are lions, wolves, or bears. It just depended on whatever their personality was like.

Naturally, some Shifters repel the other and it isn't uncommon for fights to break out among them. A wolf and a Jaguar simply wouldn't get along in nature and therefore naturally repel each other.

Shifters are just like humans, except they age slowly. Much slower than humans. They are not immortal, just can live hundreds of years longer provided they aren't killed.

The Immortals:

Story: Once Yggdrasil bloomed, some humans were blessed with the gift of immortality. They simply cannot ever truly die. I mean, they can die, but their body always brings them back to life. If their body is destroyed, it will regenerate over time and be whole again.

It is almost impossible to actually kill an Immortal. The only ones capable of it are the Dark Angels. Immortals soul can be devoured by the Dark Angel. And without a soul, their body cannot regenerate. This is the only possible way of truly killing off an Immortal.

Though they do not age, Immortals do require the same things any human or other living creature requires. Food, sleep, shelter, and anything in between. They tend to be huge daredevils, always pushing themselves to do dangerous activities. They do feel the pain of dying, however. So even with the thought of regeneration, they do not usually want to die and come back to life all the time.

If Immortals have children, the children do not become like them. They remain human and therefore will age and die and be vulnerable to being devoured by the Dark Angels. The Immortals rarely have children for this reason and every Immortal was there the on that night since no more have been created

Legend says that if an Immortal could find the original Yggdrasil tree, it could feed it's child the sap of the tree and change that child into an immortal. It is just a legend though and the location of the original tree has long since been forgotten.

Humans:

Humans are well, human.

After the Yggdrasil bloomed and the chaos of the night settled, the humans were forced away from the cities and to go into hiding. They are never safe.

Some have chosen to live in underground cities that are unknown to the Dark Angels and others have braved living with the Shifters, who hide and protect them. Immortals refuse to take in humans though. The Dark Angels always have a close eye on Immortals hoping for a human child to be born.

Humans have become a rare species and the cruel world they live in now is always dangerous. They cannot ever truly trust anyone who is not a human themselves.

Velinae
+Description:Velinae has pale blue eyes and long black hair. Her skin is fair, with no scars that can be seen. She has a slender body that is strong and durable against damage. She has large, feathered black wings that she usually always leaves out.
+ Species: Dark Angel
+ Age: Nearing the age of 95, she was one of the early generations of Dark Angels. However, she appears to be in her early twenties.
+Sex:Female
+ Sexual Orientation:Doesn't know.
+ Personality Description: Quiet, yet demanding. Assertive, yet gentle. Adventurous, yet conservative.

Velanai can be sassy at times and isn't afraid to stand up for herself. At first, she won't have a whole lot to say, but eventually she opens up. She also has a bit of a rebellious spirit and can be extremely stubborn.

+ Likes:Rainy days, swimming, dark meat, shifters, the woods, flying, the color blue, and wandering.
+ Dislikes:Noisy crowds, cold weather, most other Dark Angels.

+ My story +

Velanai can remember the night the Yggdrasil bloomed almost as if it had happened just moments ago. She had been standing on the balcony of her apartment building, star gazing. The normal thoughts of everyday life flowing through her mind. What was she doing with her life? Who is she and will she ever find someone to come home to? Would her mundane job take her anywhere? Her life wasn't exactly perfect, but it was hers. She had her own place, her own car, job, and even had a baby on the way.

The father of the child was no where around and being in her early twenties, Velanai often felt afraid of what the future might hold for the first time mother. She had been several months along when she suddenly felt what she had thought to be earthquakes at first. Then the red lightning came and the buildings around her began to break apart, shattering as giant trees sprouted. All the shaking had caused her to fall from the the second story balcony. The impact had caused her to lose the baby, but as she lay in pain and shock, the fog spread. Velanai remembered the choking and the uneasiness that come with it. She could still feel the pain of the wings tearing their way from her skin. Her shoulders had been on fire and every muscle in her body ached as her transformation began. All she could do was scream and scream, but her screams only blended in with the others. There was so much of it. The terror that rippled through the city was so extreme and even though she wanted to run, the pain of the transformation was just too much.

Eventually she was finally a Dark Angel and the thirst had taken over, but the loss of her unborn child was still throbbing in the back of her mind. In confusion, she took to the skies and tried leaving the cities. She noticed other angels then airborne and wanted to call out to them, ask them what was going on, but even then she could see the blackness in their eyes and see the hunger on their face. She watched in horror as other Dark angels ripped fellow neighbors apart. Eventually, Velanai had given in to the thirst and fed.

Over the years she learned to control her thirst for humans. She absolutely hated it and she hated what the Dark Angels had stood for. She began rebelling against them and killed any she found tracking humans. That was in the early days though. Much changed over the years and she herself had become a target. Velanai was forced into hiding from her actions, but still continued aiding humans. After many years passed, she simply became a legend, a story the Dark Angels told their offspring and her true name was forgotten. At least now she is able to roam freely without the thread of constantly being executed by her own kind as she had done before.

+ My story +

Casslyn had a wonderful life. She had kind parents, a cute boyfriend and a baby sister no one could possibly hate. Casslyn had been playing around with her 8 year old angelic sister Cassandra and her boyfriend Adrian. But Suddenly the skies lit up with lightening so intensifying that her little sister had come running up to her and hugging her slender frame. But Casslyn tried not to shake with fear herself, and tried to stay calm, soothing her sister saying that it was just a little bit of more lightening than the other rainy days. They ran for cover inside the house, but soon enough, the house was struck by lightening and they ran outside in the rain. Casslyn remembered that the rain had been far more acidic than the other days, and her skin burned where it hit. She tried to cover Cassandra as much as she could, and ran for cover under a tree. But, as soon as it had come, the rain had stopped, but a strange fog had started to form. There was nothing that Casslyn could do, except to hug Adrian and Cassandra tight and waited, watching the transformations that were taking place. The fog affected all of them and they started coughing, and then they heard the screams.

The screams were so horrible that she and her sister screamed too. They were screams she had never heard before, agonizing, painful and tormenting, and they still haunted her, even after hundred years had passed. They watched in horror as they saw Adrian transforming, and they backed away. Her sister dropped, dead or unconscious she couldn't say, and then she started screaming too. She fell, embraced by the darkness that seemed so eager to pull as many people as it could.

She woke up sometime later, to be a bit more energetic than she had been, as she had freshly awaken without being affected by any of the chaos going on around her. Her first instinct was to search for baby Cassandra, and saw a horrible sight, so horrible that she ran screaming and hitting Adrian, with all her might. Adrian was devouring Cassandra, her sweet Cassandra. But the eyes she saw devouring her sister were not the eyes of her Adrian. They were black, emotionless except for the raw hunger that shown in his eyes, and he even had black wings around his body. She was flung away as fast as she had come running, and Adrian flew, leaving the dead body of Cassandra on the ground.

Casslyn can remember the long time in which she felt the clock stop around herself, while she held her sister in her arms. But finally, she regained her composure and tried performing the ritual of burying her sister under the ground. She had no tools, and she was forced to leave her sister under a tree, while she ran away from all the strange creatures trying to hunt her down.

Now Casslyn had learned that she was an immortal, but how eager would she be if she can give at least half of her ever-lasting life to reawaken her sister again! And from that day on, she had hated Dark Angels and what they had done to his boyfriend, and her sister in turn. She lived with her kind, and over the years she had learned to fight, and survive.

The night air felt relaxing as it danced over the Dark Angel's skin. She had flown high in the sky, enjoying the warm air and the light of the moon. Up here, she could feel free, feel more alive and unafraid. The city below her was nothing by rumble and ash on the east and west side. The northern part of the city was rebuilt by her kind and was made to look rather elegant in such a destroyed world. The southern area was still mostly rumble, but smaller homes and markets had been built by the Shifters and the Immortals. She could make out people walking in and out of the market stalls, but from her altitude they looked like tiny moving smudges.

She still couldn't believe how much the world had changed. Even just fifty years ago, every creature would be running for their homes right now, hiding in whatever shelter they could find because the Dark Angels came out to play at night. Now below her, she watched as a small get together seemed to be taking place and it looked rather joyful. The world was beginning to be happier now that her kind had controlled their handle. Now that they were becoming for docile, but they were still vicious and amused by the torment of other species. There were some Dark Angels that remembered their human sides and had become like herself, more human in personality. But the others were still bent on power and destruction of the human race for whatever reason.

She still wondered about why the Dark Angels were created by the Yggdrasil. After all it was the tree of life and death, but the creation of the Angels brought an unbalanced amount of death throughout the entire world. Why would something like that be made and why had she been chosen to be part of it?

Her heart began to ache as she recalled that night so she quickly shook her head and went in for a landing in a small clearing away from the city. The night was too peaceful to have such violent memories replaying. Velanai slowly walked across the grassy field, her large, black feathered wings draped down her back like a thick curtain as she stretched and arms and then her legs. Her pale blue eyes wandered over to a large Yggdrasil tree, "That could be a nice place to nap.."

Casslyn had been watching two human children, around the age of 10 playing around by hiding beside a huge Yggdrasil tree which grew in a corner. But it was now getting dark, the pollution making the darkness enclose sooner than normal, blocking the sunlight before it could set. But who remembered what was to be normal, anyway? A very few did, her own kind and Dark Angels. Many humans had died since then, reproducing offspring while these children knew naught of the beautiful world that had been here before. But how lucky, she thought that these children were allowed to see at least a bit of the sunshine! Not more than 50 years ago were the humans running for their lives, never making an appearance, hiding in shadows and underground places where they could hide from the Dark Angels. The playing children were called off by their parents who had been sitting somewhere near them keeping an eye on the children and they left to some underground place Casslyn had never gone.

She sighed contentedly. Sights of children always made her happy, while it also brought raw pain and memories still fresh, that it sometimes seemed as her heart was bleeding. Not a single child should be harmed after what happened to me she had thought when she had seen that some children had survived the destruction. No one should be made to feel the pain of losing someone who caught a special place in everyone's heart. This was also a reason why Casslyn kept watch over the human children whenever she could. Her own kind, in comparison to the humans were dull, with no children to entertain. But she knew more than enough to know that she wouldn't produce children, not while the Dark Angels were waiting for it, but she hoped that one day the world would be a peaceful and a happy place where she could sit in the green, like the olden days when she was still a human, and watch her children play. She wondered if the Yggdrasil tree of the myth was a truth, and wondered if there really was a tree, and how lucky if she could find it! At least then she would have a chance of producing children.

Thinking all this to herself, Casslyn sat below the tree from which she had been looking at the children for sometime. She closed her eyes, visualizing a beautiful calm place where she would be forever happy, a slight smile on playing her lips.

Sitting beneath the giant Yggdrasil, Velinai's thoughts began surrounding that night again. The memories still brought her pain as if it had just happened. Even though she was a Dark Angel, the memories from before affected her unlike it did most of the others. To them, she was odd, but they didn't remember why anymore. She stopped feeding off of humans then and she has not had blood from one is many years. She knew that her life force would slowly die. Very slowly, that is. Dark Angels who no longer fed would age after so long and eventually perish. But that has yet to happen to any of her species. So, no one even knew how long before the process of aging would start and how long it would take to even affect the body.

Velinai stood, knowing that with the thoughts plaguing her, sleep would not come. She began wandering around the field and staring at the stars. Unlike in the cities, the sky was actually visible. There was less dust and less pollution in the air. Inhaling deeply, she closed her eyes and tried to enjoy the moment of peace. But now what? After all these years, what would she do now? What can I do now? The thought bubbled over in her mind.

The Dark Angel had been trying to figure out what to do next. More memories form her long past had been occupying her mind lately and some of those thoughts reflected around the time in her life where she slaughtered some of her own kind. Though it was unheard of to most, being an original she was able to take out some of the younger Dark Angels. Less angels in this world, the better chances humans had at surviving. She still hated her own species and she still hated what she had done in the very early days.

"Ugh!" Frustrated, Velinai kicked at the ground. Her large, black wings spreading. But instead of flying, she just continued to walk. It had been a long time since she had even come across a human being, she wondered if there were any left in this cruel world.

Casslyn was in a place where she had never been before. This strange place was beautiful and mesmerizing, the sunlight reflecting on every shiny surface, illuminating the whole place with bright white light. The grass underneath her feet was green, and she could see huge butterflies of varying colours. Birds sang, and the whole place was filled with laughter and happy voices. The only way Casslyn could describe it was..heavenly. Am I dead? Am I in heaven? was her first thought. But then she realized with a pang of sadness that she will never die. She will never know what heaven would look like, unless her soul is devoured by a dark angel. But then, will I go to heaven after that? She wondered. It was too much to hope for.

As she looked around once more, she noticed Adrian and Cassandra sitting near her, eating their sandwich with peaceful looks on their faces. "Aren't you having a bite of your sandwich, Cass?" asked her little sister. "Oh yes. I'm eating." she said, smiling and had a bite. It was a merry day, and there were a lot of people around her. Real people, smiling, laughing, talking or playing. Then they decided to play catchers, and Adrian was the first catcher. "Game's on!"
he shouted while she and Cassandra ran, squealing, the wind hitting their faces as they ran. Her sister was slower, and Adrian caught her. "Gotcha!" he shouted, and Casslyn laughed, turning around. And then she screamed.

Casslyn looked, unable to move nor shut he eyes from the sight before her. "Cass! Cass!"
she dimly heard her sister shouting and struggling. The bright, warm day had now changed to a day full of lightening flashing around, and people running for cover everywhere. Then she saw all the people who had been there turning into grotesque forms, screaming, wailing and becoming demon angels, while some were dying. She saw Adrian himself transform, and with a look full of hunger, he was eating her baby sister.

Casslyn screamed, her own scream mingling with the other screams that she couldn't tell her own scream. She ran forward, trying to save Cassandra but however much she moved Adrian didn't seem to come near her. The more she ran, the further he seemed to be moving. At last, with a final, horrible scream, Cassandra felt limp in his arms, while Casslyn could only scream.

Casslyn woke up, her own scream filling the night, her arms flailing and sweat dripping from her brows. It was then that she realized that all this time she had been dreaming. Casslyn heaved a sigh of relief. But she couldn't get rid of the sight she had witnessed in her dreams burning and flashing before her eyes vividly. There seemed to be no one around her, and she let out a sigh of relief. She sank back in the tree while her heart slowed down to breathing rhythmically. The cool night breeze brushed her face, removing the little hairs that had plastered on her face. She got up, and decided to go home. It had been a long night.

As she continued to walk along the grassy field, a scream filled Velianai's ears. Curious, the Dark Angel picked up her pace and headed towards the direction of the sound. The thought of some poor soul being targeted by a Dark Angel bubbled in her mind like thick lava. What if...No. No, don't think that. She thought to herself. With a small push, Velinai's wings stretched powerfully and lifted her into the air. The large black feathers dancing as the wing rushed over them. Flying was much faster than walking, but Velinai was tiring down from a long day of it already. Exhausted she forced herself to land again, but this time she landed on a large tree branch.

Perched high up, the Dark Angel spotted what must have been the source of the scream. A human!? No, no..An Immortal. It's been awhile. Awhile didn't cut it, not really. Velinai hadn't been in contact with any other living creature in months. She had dedicated her time into learning more about the lands, the trees, and was attempting to discover the locations of humans. But she wasn't aiming to kill or betray their location, but to give them aid.

A long time ago, the Dark Angel had been a spy for a group of humans that secretly lived near one of the large cities left. She would often gather food and supplies for them during the day so no one would go without and no other species would become suspicious. But one suspicious mind was all it took. That was over forty years ago now. Velinai also searched for a cure, or an answer to what had happened, but was having absolutely no luck.

Studying the Immortal from the tree, the Dark Angel silently folded her wings down against her back and lowered herself to another branch closer to the ground. The Immortal was a female, petite with wild hair. Veliani often wondered what it must have been like to be an Immortal. That girl was much closer to human than Velinai ever would be anymore.

(Sorry it took so long. I am trying to get others to join. Am really hoping more will pile in over time!)

Food had been incredbily scarce for some time. A hunter was lucky if he or she found enough to completely feed one small family. Everyone in the home was becoming easily irritated because of the increasing hunger they were feeling. The children were starting to fall ill at a faster rate than before. All in all, things were not looking so good for the humans in the home where Dana lived. The Leaders were sending out hunters at a more frequent rate in hopes of finding anything edible but to find anything the hunters were forced to search further and further away from the entrances each time they were sent out. This meant they were longer gone and risked quite a bit to attain this food. However, any half-decent hunter would not mind the risk as they were well aware of how important their job was.

Dana was more than a half-decent hunter though but took only little pride in finding the home whatever food they could gather. Her goals were different from most hunters. She wanted to strike the cause at it's core. Not just treat the symptoms.
As she scoured the tree line of the forest, by now a good bit away from the tunnel entrance, she let out a heavy sigh. She was tense as she knew she was dangerously close to open fileds and that always unnerved her as she knew better than most of her fellow hunters how fast this world's top predators could swoop down from the sky.

She walked easily over the uneven ground, as if her feet barely even touched it. She was silent and fast.
Just as the rest of the group of hunters she had come out with this evening, although it was unusally late for even hunters to leave the home this late, she was searching for any nuts, fruits, berries or the like that she could find. Even an animal or two would have been great, but those were considered more as food you had when you had a feast, which was a very rare thing among the humans now. In the stories the elders told the humans who lived in the Age before the Trees had all sorts of feasts for all sorts of things. Dana had no idea what things that might be but she knew she sure would like to experience a feast someday.

The sound of a scream not too far nor too close to her brought the young huntress out of her wandering thoughts and she instantly jumped up on the nearest branch, hiding among the branches of the tree it belonged to while carefully listening into the silent evening. A slight breeze ruffled the leaves gently, creating a soothing sound. It did not hide the sound of feathers against the air nor the rustle of wings as something took off. It must have been something big, judging by the sound and it made Dana turn to where it came from, to see a human shape with wings fly off to what she roughly estimated to be the direction of the scream.
Seeing that filled her veins with ice as she feared for whoever had screamed. It sent her into a mad run in the same direction that the Dark Angel had taken off in and she ran as fast as her legs could carry her. She sacrificed a large amount of her stealth for speed and flew through the bushes and in between trees.

As she thought she was nearing her destination she slowed down again, catching her breath while at the same time becoming more stealthy, silently sneaking behind treetrunks and crawling through bushes.
As she looked up she saw that it was a Tree she was in front of. Not the ordinary trees but the Trees responsible for bringing the Dark Angels into this world. That much most humans knew about them. She hid in a bush that was right beside her and peeked through the leaves. She could not see the Dark Angel anywhere but she saw what she thought was a young human girl, looking to be roughly around Dana's age, starting to walk away from the Tree.
Dana stayed where she was as there seemed to be no danger to the girl but dared not move, just in case this is where the Dark Angel had been headed. If it were to attack that girl, maybe Dana could give her a shot at escaping by the distracting the Dark Angel with arrows and whatever else she could come up with. Dana readied her bow just in case.
