Oh yeah - I remember dorm life... I didn't enjoy it too much. I likes my privacy.

It's not the privacy so much as the noise level. They were shouting in our hall at 11 at night -.-; And then I couldn't get back to sleep for another 1.5-2 hours >.< They were so loud, that I got out of bed, yanked open my door and half furiously hissed "Could you please be quiet D< " ... yeah, Dae was not a happy camper...

Dorm life was not pleasant. I'm sorry to hear that you suffer. *Hugs*

Dae - have you tried using one of those white noise makers to drown out other noises? I can't sleep without one or a fan.

Lissi: I actually usually go to sleep with noise going on (usually my TV) and have it set on a timer to go off at some point. I'm really not a light sleeper, but then again, these girls were really loud... The only reason I couldn't get back to sleep was because my body is weird and seems to think "hey, 1.5-2 hours of sleep is good. get up and do something" -.-;

Flink's body does that. T_T She hates it. She listens to a fan when she's sleeping. Does a number on her throat each morning, but she can't sleep without it and it's too hot. T_T

She's been pretty good. Spent a week away with a friend for her birthday. <3

That's why I prefer the TV over the fan. And the fan makes me feel worse than if I had just gone to sleep with nothing. My roommate does the fan thing and she pretty much has it right on her face.

Yeah... but for college students I guess it's pretty typical XD. And not just the ones that study (not me XD).

I can't sleep unless there's noise.
i tend to put my mp3 player on and stick an album on and it turns itself off when the album's over.
i always used to fall asleep with the radio on, and my parents had to come in and turn it off lol

I cannot go to sleep with music or the tv on at all. I can barely stand my hubby's snoring.

See, I need something to distract my mind before I go to sleep. My brain is always thinking about a lot of things when I'm not focused on anything in particular. My thoughts keep me up. It's especially bad when I have a nightmare or something because it wakes me up and I can't just turn on the TV and wake up my roommate. So I go under my covers with a flashlight and read for about 1/2 an hour to an hour. Then I focus on making up a story to go to sleep. Takes far longer that way but in the middle of the night, it's really all I can do.

Awww, I can understand. I have racing thoughts too when I try to go to sleep.

I like to sleep in perfect dark and perfect silence. The problem with that is that I never get both, so I toss and turn a lot.

Oh, silence freaks me out because then my brain makes up its own crazy sounds ^^; I'm pretty paranoid sometimes.
