Su - So you're full of interesting things to say just like I am! :o

Let me think... Oh, okay, here's something. When a honey badger attacks its prey, it often goes straight for the testicles before moving onto the rest of the animal, to critically wound it. It can - and will - take down animals much larger than it, including humans.

Gray walls, omg! That's a genius idea! My dad would never let me paint my walls gray, so I'm stuck with white. I can't wait to have my own house so I can decorate it however I want!

Why thank you, Nuruhanj. :)

And I think if no one else enters my banner contest by January 2nd,
I'll just give you the prize anyway and use your banner,
since you did the work and made a nice banner already. :)
But I was really hoping for a contest... >.>

As for the deadline, since I missed my ride back to the North Pole,
I guess I'll be here til the 6th anyway. I'll extend it the four days, then.
Thank you! :)

Aww, your dad won't let you paint? :gonk: That sucks. White walls are so hard to pull off.

This is the gray on my walls, but it looks like shit on the computer (or at least on my busted old monitor). I can't see it on that page, but it's a very cool gray. A bit like a stone. So it doesn't have any dullness that's usually associated with gray. It's a complex color that confuses my camera, so I can never get a completely accurate picture of it. But if you're interested in gray walls later on, I'd definitely recommend that color! It goes with everything, too.

It's in the background of most of my posts on my thrifting tumblr, not always accurately depicted, but looking through a few might give you an idea. It's such a pretty gray, so subtle. It really changes with the lights. Each wall looks a little different just because the lighting's different. I wandered around the paint section of Home Depot for a good half hour before I found it.

Yeah, your walls usually look bluish or purple in your pictures. The gray you chose is pretty, but I would probably go with something a bit darker. Like a dark pewter color. Or something slightly more metallic. I love the sheen.

I'd advise against going darker unless you have really bright lighting in your room. It doesn't seem dark, but the thing about wall colors is that you have to go a few shades lighter than what you actually want because when it's on all four walls it will look MUCH darker. I had to get another lamp after I painted, and even still with two lamps in here it seems a little "moody" in the evenings. A metallic may not have that problem since it'd reflect. I can't really say for certain as I've never witnessed metallic walls.

I really wish I had a better camera so I could more accurately show you my walls. In almost all my posts on Tchotckes & Frippery I have to photoshop the hell out of the wall background to try to make it look presentable. I always get these weird yellow spots and stuff. My camera really hates complex colors. It wants it to either be 100% gray with no tint, or light blue and it's just neither.

I'd say if you're ever at Home Depot, just try to find a paint chip of that color and then take it home and look at it. Really, doing that with any color you want to use is a good idea. Hold it against the walls all over. Above lamps, in the darkest corner, near furniture, everything. There have been a lot of colors that I thought looked great but then when I did that, I saw they were too dark.

60% of my brain power at any given moment is dedicated to interior design type things, so I have a lot to say on this. I'd totally consider going into it if it wasn't such an... unstable sort of field.

Dark isn't really a problem for my room. Two of the walls have large windows in them that keep it well lit. When we first moved in to my house, I convinced my dad to let me paint my room this really dark purple color called Voodoo. It was great!

But like I said, I'm probably going to save the gray for when I move in to my own house.

I always tell people, if I were rich and didn't have to worry about an income, I would definitely do interior design. So I know what you mean about it being unstable : (

Hey Ari! Just.. hanging in there I guess. I'm not really doing anything.

PS, Cherry, I actually have that globe lamp that you reblogged. Or at least one similar to it. My uncle gave it to me about 8 years ago, and he had had it for at least ten prior to that so it's very outdated. Still fully functional though.
