Background: Aria was orphaned at the young age of eight when her parents mysteriously disappeared, leaving her to fend for herself. She was born with the ears and tail of a pale blue fox and her personality matches those of foxes. She was laughed at and feared by the humans at her orphanage, leaving her with no choice but to run away and take refuge in the forest. She was found by a family of foxes and raised up by them until she found out about the Sanctuary Academy when she was fifteen. Because she grew up somewhat in isolation, with only foxes to interact with, she doesn’t have much experience with face-to-face interaction and often acts bitterly towards other people.

Personality: Kind, caring . . . rather abrupt sometimes. He enjoys icecream and swimming, and makes friends easily. Cyan is usually quite accepting of anyone who doesn't have cat features . . . for his "fish" side doesn't enjoy the thought of being eaten. It's a predatory thing.

Background: Cyan was a lone merman (yes, that's what he is) who was found by a surfer. Honestly, the surfer didn't know what to do with him. Cyan was kept in a bath tub for a few weeks, and eventually the human found the school. The Academy was a sanctuary . . . and now that Cyan is away from his land-friend, he is rather lonely.

Background: Born to a siren mother who mated with her father, whom was a sailor, Nicola has an affinity with water and for song. Her father was quickly killed, before Nicola was born, so she has no recognition of him. She was then raised on the same island as her mother, until a group of sailors got smart. She was kidnapped while she slept, and has no idea what happend to her mother and the other sirens.
She then grew up further in a human world, attending public schools but always feeling out of place and bitter about her current situation. Eventually she was sent to Sanctuary Academy, where she currently is attending her senior year.

Background: Born before the Templar's final attempt to claim the Holy Land, Emanuel was the son of a Spanish and French noble who grew up training to become one of the Knights Templar of the Holy Church. When he was almost finished with his training in Paris, he was wandering the streets, attacked from behind by a vampire. Emanuel has no memories of what occurred after that, but records from monsters and monster hunters from that time speak of a terror that plagued the Parisian streets, a bloodthirsty vampiric warrior that preyed upon man and monster alike, killing and feeding upon those he deemed worthy opponents before he abruptly vanished a decade later. Emanuel was recently discovered within a coffin of an unmarked grave. Those who discovered him were swiftly set upon by what, at first, appeared to be a mummy-like corpse. With the deaths of the two men who discovered him, Emanuel truly awoke with his most recent memory that of his attack. Donning his Templar garb, he left the site of his grave, trying to think of what to do with his life now that he was the kind of monster he had trained to defend mankind from. It wasn't another night before he was found by one of the Academy's teachers, offering him a place there to learn of the world that continued while he 'slept' and maybe find a new purpose.

Background:They are fraternal Twins and inseperable. They came from a family with money but were turned out for training so they are not spoiled. Nephilum are made to train from an early age to fight as warriors and assassins to exterminate the supernatural evils of the world. Now days there is more diplomacy so only rouge members of the diferent supernatural races are hunted down by them. They are like the wardens of the supernatural world. Though these two could really care less about all that. Midori loves everything too much to hunt them down and Gavin just doesnt give a f*** Midori can manipulate water and call it to her to do her bidding and Gavin is a fire starter who can manifest fire from nothing as well as control it as he sees fit. The two of them seem like they have nothing in common but one cannot make it without the other, its like the yin and the yang. They are one in the same when you get down to the root of it all.

She grew up being treated practically like a princess, getting everything she ever wanted. Her family was a bit afraid of her from her love of making others suffer.

Personality: Riley is extremely timid; she even hides from people she’s never met and such. Her sweetness, naivety, and compassion reveal themselves if one gets to know her, and sometimes even outweigh her timidity. She’ll often completely ignore her own discomfort for others, even if she’s never met them. Also, she flipping loves Pokemon (if you couldn’t tell) and video games.

Background: Riley grew up in the suburbs of Houston playing video games, especially Pokemon, and enjoying the sun. As a child, she was extremely outgoing and vivid, which helped to mask her unique ability: she was good at everything. She wasn’t perfect by any stretch, but she never failed at anything either. This difference between her and her peers wasn’t so much of an issue when they were all little, but by the time they were in middle school, a lot of her old friends didn’t even talk to her. This led to bullying and such, as the other kids needed to feel at least equal to her, which in turn led to her timidity and introverted nature.

Eventually, someone decided to figure out why she was the way she was, and thus discovered something incredible. She was the pinnacle of humanity. She was as strong as was possible, agile, fast, etc., and all without practice. It amazed the doctors who took her through these tests, so much so that they wanted to try and replicate her genetic code. The idea of having her daughter cloned terrified her parents, who moved upon receiving a letter from the school, a place where they hoped that she would be safe and grow up like normal.

Personality: Alyssa is loud, abrasive, tomboyish, and never afraid to speak her mind. It doesn’t matter who or what she finds dissatisfactory, she will be darn sure that you know. When it comes to getting in trouble, she has a rather flippant attitude. She honestly doesn’t care about being yelled at or punished. It’s completely irrelevant to her. She’s also not truly lazy; instead she just puts forth the bare minimum of effort to accomplish her goals.

Background: Alyssa grew up in a troubled home where there was always fighting and bickering. After her parents divorced, it got much better, and she was even happy for a while. Still, not all things last. During a gang war, her father was shot and killed, only one of several innocent civilians injured during the shooting. Thus she went to live with her acidic mother. The constant criticism led her into a downward spiral of depression from which she emerged who she is today. It especially got better when she discovered the school online, printed out the brochure, slapped it on the kitchen table, and told her mother that she as going. The vicious woman tried to destroy any chance of her going, but it all backfired. Alyssa left and never looked back, discovering her powers when she arrived as a freshman.

*walking up to the huge iron gates katsuo looks around at all the students laughing and giggling with excitement at the opening of the academy* "Alright! Lotta pretty ladies this year" Katsuo says to himself as he pops his collar up and starts looking around

Cyan glanced up from the book he was reading when someone entered the front gate. It was a male, and he looked . . . very confident. The blue-haired youth gave a slight smile to Katsuo before returning to his book. Cyan was resting in a patch of soft grass, soaking up as much sunlight as possible. Who knew where they would stick him once the school actually started. As a water creature, he didn't like to be away from water for a long period of time. Even now, he was feeling a bit sick. . . .

Reaching for the rather large water bottle he kept at his side constantly, Cyan took a gulp and went back to his reading. This bit about astronomy was intriguing. . . .

Mindy was sitting on a stone ledge when movement caught her eye. Looking up she saw some new guy walk through the gate. He was pretty good looking. Another movement under a nearby tree had her turn. Cyan was also checking out the new guy. With a dreamy expression, she sighed. He was really good looking too. Maybe those two guys would have a forbidden love affair that would lead to the destruction of the world if they were found out! Shaking her head, she returned to her romance book. Unlikely, though that would make a great book. She could start writing it tonight in her dorm room.

katsuo noticing the blue haired guy looking at him simply nodded his head as he walked by thinking to himself "Maaaaan,it's suppose to be the girls checking me out............urgh" Katsuo then felt a second pair of eyes on him as he looked up noticing a pink haired beaugty sitting along the stone ledge "well heeelllo" katsuo mumbled to himself and he shifted directions and headed her way

Two figures passed across the courtyard of the school moving as one. Midori looked out over the surrounding area as she walked in time with her twin brother Gavin He had his usual scowl on his face. She was pulled from her thoughts as she saw a girl staring intently at something. Upon seeing the line of vision traced to a neko boy then a lovely mer-boy she chuckled lightly to herself. *seems this year will be interesting* She smiled and sent a little splash of water towards the mer-boy he looked for lack of a better term like a fish out of water... a very lovely fish though.


Gavin realized his sister was lagging behind him so he reached back and grabbed her hand pulling her back into stride with him. *Come on Midi you don't wanna get lost do you?* He smiled as he saw her attention come back to him a shy smile on her face. He never felt quiet right when she went away from him. He scanned the open space around him taking in the kids arriving, a smirk forming on his lips... he thinks to himself *this should be a very interesting year indeed*

The two continue walking in silence Midori hoping someone would say hello and her brother as always thinking the exact opposite.

Mindy was just starting to read the next paragraph when she realized that the one walking had changed directions towards her. Hmmm, this could be fun. Though she thought the other one sitting down was more cute. Maybe she could befriend both. Looking up, she noticed as he strode towards her that he had cat ears and very graceful movements. Part cat huh.

Viola looked to her mother. "Please don't make me go." she said softly. Her mother looked at her and softly smiled. "Viola." she said as she walked over to her daughter and gently hugged her. "this will be go for you." she said softly. "Your powers will be able to grow, and you'll be with people more like you." she said as she moved the lose strand of hair from her daughters face. Viola looked away from her mother. "What if they don't like me." she said. Know that a missing eye could freak some people out. Her mother gently moved her cheek back to her. "look at me." Viola's mother said softly. "You are wonderful, and if they can't see that its there lose. Now we need to get you packed." she said as she gave her daughter one more squeeze. "come on." she said as she lead her up the stairs.

Viola walked into her room and took it all in. "I'm going to miss you mother." she said softly. "I'm going to miss you to Viola." she said softly as well." Viola took the small pink suitcase out of the closet and began putting cloths in it. She then took her backpack and packed a few of her favorite book, and the stuff she would need for school. She looked to her mother and said. "I think I'm ready." Her mother smiled, but with the smile came tears. "I'm sorry." she said as she whipped the tears away. "I can't help it your getting so big." she said. Viola ran to her mother and hugged her. "Are you sure I have to go..." she said with tears in her own eyes. Viola's mother nodded. "Come lets get you there before I change my mind." she said.


Viola looked at he Iron gates for just a moment, before entering them. All she had with her was a small suitcase and her light purple backpack. She was now looking at the school, and the others that were standing in front of her. "Hello." she said timidly. "Can one of you help me." she said as she moved the hair out of her face so she could see them better. She then pulled her back back forward, and pulled the small map of the school. "could anyone tell me where the dorms are?" she said softly.

a soft voice carried by the wind reaches his sensitive ears as they perk up Katsuo turned around to see a shy looking girl standing at the gates "jackpot.........." shoves his hands into his pockets as he starts to walk towards the girl "umm...........hi,you lost?"

Mindy narrowed an eye as he changed directions towards the new girl at the gate. A romance that was not to be. Fate destined him towards another. She thought about how that could be a dramatic ending of a story and shrugged it off. There was still the parched looking merman under the tree and two, twins?, walked past him towards, somewhere. Putting her nose back into her book, she waited for either it or real life to get interesting.

Viola looks to the boy she could feel her cheeks turning bright red. She found herself at an impasse. "umm." was all the escaped her light pink lips. She quickly turned around so he could no longer see her face. "I'm sorry." she said softly. She turned back around to face him. "Yes." she said. "What I mean is yes... I am lost..." she said as she grasped her back and pulled out the small map. "I'm not quite sure how to read this map." she said softly looking up at him.

"she's soooo cute" katsuo thought to himself as he looked at the map "aah,if you're looking for the dorms you take a right at the clock tower there" he slightly turned and pointed at the massive structure standing in the middle of the courtyard "They shouldn't be hard to miss once you get there. If there's anything else you need please let me know" he said with a smile

Midori dragged along by her brother came to an abrupt stop. Gavin looked to her confused. *what is it now Midi?* She cocked her head to the side and smiled her small smile. *Gavin I would like to go say hello to someone.* He studied her for a moment, *its not a boy is it?* Her smile widens * no brother I see a girl by the gates who looks as lost as I did my first day here. I would like to help her feel welcomed* Gavin sighed and released her hand. * Promise you wont be too long we have a lot to do before classes start.* * I promise brother* With this she leaned up on her tippy toes and kissed his cheek and skipped off towards the lost girl , just as a neko boy was aproaching her.

She came to a stop intruding on their soft conversation and introduced herself.

Naida Rivers was a senior this year at the academy. She could hardly believe it. Starting school far later than any of her class mates. It was believed she would never be able to finish school, or even get past freshman. That was because unlike many of the other students, Naida had no formal education. Normal schools did not have the necessary equipment to keep Naida even alive. But that all had change when her mother heard about Sanctuary Academy three years ago.

Naida stepped threw the front gate. She looked very odd to anyone who was seeing the Asrai for the first time. She had black hair, tied back with glass beads and shells. The colors of the beads would remind anyone of the ocean. Her hands and feet were webbed, and her skin had an ever so slight tint of blue to it. One odd quirk to Naida was the fact she was almost entirely covered up. Even with such a nice day, any where skin could possibly be was covered. She mainly wore a white hooded dress. It covered her from head to toe, stopping just at the top of her knees where a pair of blue leggings and brown boots covered her legs.

A back pack was thrown onto her back. It was a simple brown woven bag. It appeared hand made, which it was. The same beads that adorned her hair were tied into the bag. Along with several bottles of water that hung much like potions for a mage. She looked up slightly, being sure the sunlight would not touch her skin in any way. Piercing blue eyes with a thick black ring scanned over the crowd. Taking everything in.

"Damn sun" She muttered, not daring to look up at the flaming star in the sky.

Viola softly smiled and nodded. "Thank you." she said softly. She moved her hair out of the way of her good eye. She looked to where he pointed. "umm is every one meeting over there?" she said pointing to the massive group that had been forming. She gently touched the cress of her dress. "can you help get my stuff to my room?" she asked as she looked to the boy. Her cheeks turned bright red, as she looked away from him once more. the bandages on her right eyes peeked threw the pink hair.

"Yeah sure" he said smiling at the shy gurl as he leaned over to pick his hat tilting and falling to the ground letting his white ears protrude freely "oh.umm.............." he blushed as he hurried to put his hat back on "ahem" he turned to notice the other girl standing there "Well hello! You lost too?"

"Katsou, It's Naida." She said in a very thick Scottish accent. She raised the corner of her hood slightly with her back to the sun so he could see those piercing blue eyes she was known for. Her behavior towards the flaming demon ball would come as odd, of even dumb to most of the students. But for Naida, it was serious. Her people were night lovers. Over moon bathing on the shores. They lived so deep under water, it was pitch black. This was all due to the legend that if a single ray of sunlight were to touch an Asrai's skin, they would turn into a puddle of water. This of coarse was not far from the truth. With Naida, she had become accustomed to the heat, so simply the sun would heat her skin to boiling point when UV rays touched it. Even steam would come off.

"Thank you though Katsou." The two had been in multiple classes together threw out high school. Her attention turned on the girl he had been helping. Her pink hair and banged eye were the two notable features of the girl. "My name is Naida Rivers." The name was an odd one she needed to register for school. It brought a laugh to her mother as she was registering her. "I'm an Asrai, so please excuse my behavior. It's very hot.. I should go say hello to my aquatic friends. Please excuse me." She said to the girl, reaching out and shaking her hand. The pink-haired girl would feel how cold Naida really was. Cooler than any vampire anyway. It would be similar to reaching her hand into a freezer and holding ice.

Naida continued on her way. She noticed Cyan sitting reading to himself. Making her way towards the merman, she smiled. Looking down at him. "Cyan, you appear parched." Her thick accent startled many. She kneeled down, bringing her bag to her front she reached inside. Being sure her shadow was covering everything inside. "I brought with me extra..." she paused thinking of the word. Searching Cyan's face for clues. It was true English was a second language for Naida. As well as writing and reading. It took much effort from her classmates, friends and teachers to correct her tongue into a more understandable feature.

"Holy- no... Pure water." She said happily, bringing out a wrapped up bundle. Inside was would be a glass bottle of glowing water. Of coarse he would need to keep it wrapped up, from fear of the sun. The water was something of a gel, and one drop worked far better than three bottles of water. Her gloved webbed hands held it out to him. It was something her people sold to merpeople and water sprites who wished to go on land. It could be expensive, but her mother was a crafter of the magical water. So Naida was always well stocked.

Midori grinned as the boy addressed her. *Most definatly not lost, thanks for asking though, I noticed she "midori guestures towards Viola" look painfully lost and thought she could use some good old welcome wagon. * She looked past the neko briefly to say hi to the girl, a warm smile on her face. She then focused on the boy taking in the big fluffy ears the had, Midori had a love of cats so she always wanted to baby neko raced individuals. Her brother of course told her this was very bad as she was too innocent and neko boys were nothing but trouble.

She shook her head and banished thoughts of Gavin, determined to have a pleasant interaction here and now. She smiled again and says * So we should all go to the dorm together I can help carry some of the stuff if you like.*

looked over at Naida as she began drinking the bottled water "Back again this year I see, how have you been?" katsuo shifted his weight to adapt to carrying the bags his eyes shifting from girl to girl

Cyan had been reading along, thinking about the planets (for the book he was reading was an astronomy textbook) when he felt a sprinkle of water over his back. Shivering with delight, he turned his bright eyes toward the girl who'd splashed him. Midori was pulled away by her brother, but not in time to miss the smile on Cyan's face. With a leisurely, slow flick of his tail, the merman looked back to his book. His smile didn't fade. It was pleasant to think that this was the only school in which things were . . . well, pleasurable. Usually things were terribly unfair, and the world was cruel. This sanctuary was full of strange people, just like him.
Midori must have had some sort of water abilities. When Cyan sent her a second glance, he found that there was no water bottle in her hand or anything. Elemental control? The book he was reading lay upon before him, and he stared after the girl and her brother with a thoughtful look on his face.

Naida's appearance made the blue-scaled youth blink in surprise. "Naida," he greeted her with a small smile, and then nodded slowly. "They left me out here until they could get the pool filled. They said it was better for my classmates if I actually socialized." Cyan looked back to his book, and sighed. As he continued leaning on his elbows, the merman shrugged. "They were working on a pond over the summer, but it isn't finished."

He'd enjoyed Naida's accent from the first day he'd heard it. True, it could be difficult to understand, but he enjoyed the challenge. Cyan watched the girl kneel, feeling glad that a fellow water-creature was around. She was one of the few that truly understood what it meant to live in a land completely different from their own. The merman waited patiently for her to find her words, watching her expression with a slight smile. He enjoyed listening to the strangely melodic accent that the sprite had.

"Pure water?" Cyan blinked, looking at the glass bottle curiously. He wasn't aware of such a thing: he was from the ocean, and mer-folk were generally rather lonesome. They didn't have communities in which they found or manufactured "pure water" that would do what this sprite's stuff would do.

The glowing substance made Cyan smile a bit. He'd heard about the sprites selling such things to the mer-folk, but he'd never seen it before. "For me?" He reached out to touch the glass, marveling at the look of the iridescent liquid. The very thought of the stuff was a blessing, really. Cyan was so darn thirsty it hurt . . . even with the large water bottle that sat beside him. He'd almost finished it, anyway.

Taking the glass, he carefully poured a bit into his hand. After sipping part of it, Cyan shivered and carefully spread the water over his arms and shoulders. Immediate relief flowed through him. He didn't feel like he was burning any longer, which was good. The merman's fin shifted, and he offered a pleased smile to Naida. The girl was covered so thoroughly, it left him feeling a bit bare. "You're a senior this year, aren't you?"

((And like the ignorant person he tends to be, Cyan missed everyone looking in his direction. He was far too interested in his textbook. LOL! Over-achiever!))

"A pond? Won't that be splendid!" Naida said excitedly. They had a pool to swim in, but it wasn't the same as the organic lake water. If there even was a thing. She looked over is form. His beautiful blue tail seemed to be taking a bit to much sun. It appeared drier than it should have been. But Cyan seemed to be fine with it. Or at least he wasn't showing either way towards it.

"I told you of it last year. It is what we use to come on land. Keeps the sun from evaporating us. Also, some of your kind use it to help with burns while on land. You said last year you did not believe we should make such a thing." There was a small laugh to her voice. Remembering the previous conversation from last year. She watched as he took the bottle from her and tried it out. Spreading the gel like substance over his skin and scales. Or at least the parts that were burning.

"Yes, it is amazing to think this is my last and final year here. Bittersweet really. I came here without even knowing how to write or speak basic English." She told him, taking a seat in the grass next to him.

"Although I am re-taking english. So I may be in your class." Naida told him. "How has your summer been? Lure any boats to their doom?" She asked in a serious tone. But a playful smirk was playing on her face.

Mindy looked up and saw that quite a few people were mingling now. Sighing, she figured she better be social-like and put her book on the ledge beside her bag. Hopping up, she walked towards Cyan and Naida. Her wings spread a little in the sun, soaking it up and casting a shadow in front of her. She took in the sun with pleasure, but also knew that they might perhaps appreciate the extra light being drawn towards her and away from them. The idea of bending shadows was not a new one to her. "Heya, how you guys?"

"OH, right." Thinking back, Cyan could recall Naida mentioning some sort of special water-based product. He'd thought it was unnatural, and hadn't really liked the idea of some strange glowing gel that held more water than the liquid itself. "Well . . . I'm glad you had some." Despite the water he'd been occasionally splashing himself with, Cyan had been feeling the sun more thoroughly. He was wishing for a pool or something at that moment, but the pure water that Naida had offered gave him a bit of relief. The sun didn't usually bother him, but Cyan wasn't meant to sit in it for over two hours.

"Yes, hopefully we'll have some classes together this year." The merman's blue eyes moved over to a girl who approached them, her wings spread. Before she could hear them, Naida shot out a comment about luring boats to their ultimate destruction.

The merman turned his bright blue eyes to the water sprite, an ultimately sexy look in their depths. For the briefest of moments, Naida lost her train of thoughts and reality seemed to fade. She could see only Cyan. "Only a few. It's quite sad that the people I find are predominantly male." To snap Naida out of it, the merman turned his gaze away. A playful slap with his tail soon followed, and he laughed when the sprite blinked in surprise. Cyan might seem laid back . . . but he wasn't always.

"Good afternoon," Cyan said, tossing blue hair from his face and looking up at Mindy as she finally got close to them. There was a strange relief as the winged girl came closer. The sun was less intense, and seemed to gather around Mindy instead.

"well shall we?" he said to the girl as he picked up her bags heading in the direction he pointed out to her earlier

Mindy beamed a bright smile and stood there with her hand clasped behind her back. "Are you all ready for another school year? " She couldn't help the shyness very much, but she could always smile at least. That was a step in the right direction.
