Blood Oath: Created By Kat Dakuu: & Liebchen

Warning: Read by your own choice. If you do not like it, don't read it.

Quote:
"By the seal of this magic within us, no matter what path we take, may this magic always make us friends so that we may never cause each other harm. This is the oath that we swear."
"Valor! Let's go!" Rayne called out towards the other man while starting to run across the rooftops and just like that Valor followed them quickly advancing taking the lead as he glanced around. It was early morning so very few were yet to come out of their homes. The rules around villages including staying in their homes for safety until a certain time of the morning. Valor's short white hair moved with his quick strides as he picked up his speed while his comrades did the same. Valor noticed something off on the side that seemed to have caught his attention as he abruptly stopped putting his hand up. His group quickly laid on the roofs they were on as he didn't move to lay down, he was the scouter who watched out from around them, and he was the one who kept them safe with his magic.

They knew about his skill which is why he lead mostly in case they ran into something they couldn't handle right up front. "Sun's up, we need to blend." "What about the booty?" Kylan asked as Valor shook his head "Don't say it like that, you're not a pirate. You're a thief, there is a difference. Learn it. Now break apart and blend, don't get caught. We've found a village that doesn't know us, take some time. I'm going to go search for more jobs - stay here. Rayne you're in charge." With that Valor jumped down running through the back of the village and back to the forest in which they came from. Did something follow them? Thief or not he wouldn't let a village come to harm whether or not it was because of him or his group.

Valor got to the clearing after running past quite a few trees and looked around searching for what scared all the animals away. It was quiet, too quiet for his taste even with his love for silence. His eyes - left eye yellow, right eye left blue - scanned around searching for anything out of place. Listening to the leaves on the ground and the trees silent bowing.

Ezio traveled often as was expected of a white mage. He had duties to perform, of course. He also just loved to roam in search of anything remotely interesting. Ever since leaving the magic academy, he found life so...dull. He followed his proper expectation, joined the order of mages, traveled the world in order to heal, bless, and purify. In his youth though, it seemed like the other path he could take. And it was, still was really, despite the way things turned out.

Sitting in his quarters at the village inn, he flipped through a large tome despite the hour, his candle almost burned down to the base. Just as he started to trail his finger along with the words though, a shimmer in the magic aura outside made him grin. He could always sense things better than most. Call it a gift or perhaps his lineage, but he did take great pride in it, just like he took pride in knowing what caused the fluctuation. After so many years around the person he mingled his own blood with, it would be stupid not to know whose magic entered this village.

"Now, I wonder why...?" Grinning to himself, Ezio shut his book. However, he did not get up to meet this old 'friend'. How long since he could call them anything of the sort? That childhood dream that they should always remain friends stopped his hand every time he tried to throw a real spell. He couldn't even remember what started the feud, yet, he relished it like spring in the winter of his boring, white magic life. So, Ezio simply closed his eyes.

Murmuring a spell, Ezio felt his spirit transport across a short distance. A second later, he hopped up in front of Valor, using the form of a rabbit that suited his fluffy, ivory-brown hair color. "Look what the treasure dragged in. If it isn't the 'great thief' Valor!" he exclaimed, every ounce of his cheekiness shining through. "Lose something?"

Valor glanced down a bit confused as why a rabbit was talking to him. Then it occurred to him "Ezio, of all the things you could turn into. A prey?" For a moment he said nothing wondering what brought him here until he felt the earth shake. "Due to complications I do believe our conversation is limited." Valor stated as came almost face to face with a rogue mystical dragon. This one had scars all over their body, weapons still stuck in them, and rage filled his eyes showing how lost this dragon was. "Must have gone through so much abuse" he whispered realizing the dragon was now looking at the town.

Valor grabbed the rabbit jumping out of the way of the dragon's tail covered in dragon scale spikes that swung at him. He was able to dodge without a problem and put the rabbit to the side in safety. "You're prey big time here, so why don't you leave." Valor wasn't going to let his group get hurt for any reason what so ever. He took out a blade - not using magic - and went straight for the dragon dodging to the side swinging it down only for it to make impact. However, the blade itself shattered, this dragon was different than usual ones and he wondered which one it was.

Ezio huffed at Valor, a strange thing considering his rabbit form. He managed to look haughty despite his appearance though and he flung back his ears with a little head shake. "Prey? I'm a rabbit because I'm cute," he stated. However, the joke didn't last long. The magic around them was suddenly thrown off as a dragon tore through the trees. Eyes wide, Ezio stared at the beast for a second, too surprised to react. He'd gotten so caught up in his game with Valor that he missed the existence of such a creature? An academic like him? How?

As Valor pulled him out of the way, Ezio snapped back to attention. Even in the form of a rabbit, his body murmuring spells far away in the relative safety of the village, he could still perform some magical things. Shifting from his rabbit form to that of an owl, he soared up into the sky. "Do you intend to fight a dragon alone? Daft idiot!" he called down. Despite their differences, he couldn't bring himself to flee in some cowards manner. "Let the village guard handle it and run away yourself." If anyone was to cause Valor trouble, it should be himself, not some dumb mystical beast who could shatter a blade. Therefore, Valor was not allowed to die here.

"Coming from the one who is trying to attack-" Valor jumps out of the way before finishing his sentence "-in different animal forms which are still prey to the beast." Valor said as he was studying the way it appeared, was it a dragon or something else? Which species was this dragon to be? Valor's thoughts constantly went wild as he decided to try casting magic against it. Using a spell for illusionary magic, he formed the hand signs casting out another dragon behind him, hoping it would distract the rogue reptile. The dragon turned to look as Valor said "Never running-" before the tail swung back knocking him into a tree, the tree stood strong not falling as Valor slumped to the ground.

A memory came back to him, from long ago when children - Ezio and Valor were playing around with plant magic and bringing a small tree to life in which they made friends with back then. Of course that tree was probably already gone by now, but the memory itself made Valor remember something. Mentally thinking the spell from back then he leaned on the tree as other trees started to shake and move. Vines from the nature around them came out to bind the beast. What Valor didn't realize was that his group of thieves came to his rescue to aid him. 'No, they'll die' he thought to himself in panic watching the dragon attack them yet they were able to dodge. The dragon was building up the fire within itself in order to attack one last final blow to the humans.

The fire lit up within the dragon roaring out causing it's mouth to spit fire all over the field making Valor react based on spirituality. His inner magic was called forth to protect those around him as he made them disappear miles from the battle while putting up a protective barrier around himself and the trees. Though the fire cancelled out the magic eating through his shield as he glanced up realizing he'd be looking like a fool if he died this way. Though his left shoulder was dislocated he wasn't sure if he could handle another spell with his hands. Closing his eyes he sat as the fire crept through his shield, burning it bit by bit. He was thinking of an old spell that was used to repel fire trying to make it appear once more. It was found in a book in the library and he was scolded for ever finding it in the first place.

Ezio scoffed one more time, but his attention was on the fight. For all his cheeky and playful behavior that used to--and still did--get him into trouble, he was a quick and serious study. Eyes eyes blinked slowly, sharpening on the dragon's figure. So many details came to him through the owl's senses, his sharp hearing picking up even the faintest shift in movement, or the rowdy footsteps of Valor's comrade's. Stupid fools, and Valor one of them too. Had he always been this way? Did he always have to shoulder things by himself like this? The past felt foggy after so long being set in their ways, but he imagined it must be so.

Screeching, Ezio circled the dragon, distracting it for the faintest second. It had found its prey though and looked not the least bit interested in being deterred. "You really are a stupid fool! I should just let you die since I can't kill you myself!" he called out, watching the dragon open its mouth before fire spilled out. Valor threw up a shield, but it was failing. With the added senses of both owl and mage, he knew that fact without a doubt. Even Valor seemed to have given up. Before he could stop himself, Ezio threw out the words of a spell.

A red aura flashed across the shield that Valor already created, adding an extra layer that repelled the fire. He'd seen that book too, not the least bit concerned that it wasn't for young student eyes. He'd mastered it anyway, ignoring consequences that could be far worse than scolding. However, just that wouldn't rid them of the dragon. Valor might not want to flee or ask for help, but Ezio had no such problems. He sent out a call to nearby mages for help, knowing that even from a distance, they could do more damage than a white mage like he. He couldn't attack. He couldn't banish, at least nothing without a soul corrupted by the other side. When this was over, he could simply heal.

The form of the owl wavered though and he knew his time here was up. The large spell he cast proved too much for the animal conduit and after a second, the owl vanished, leaving Valor alone in the fight for now.
