"Maybe he's glancing at you." Lori snorted turning so her back was presented to the boys. "I am not looking to be ogled at." she sniffed. "Maybe we should head off to bed. It will be another long day."

"At me?" Rosemary squeaked and looked back, but the man wasn't looking their way anymore. "Somehow I highly doubt that. I'm amazed the other one even glanced at me, after seeing you." Lori was definitely the more beautiful of the two, after all. "You're right, I have to wake early for my shift, and I'm exhausted." She stood up, ready to go to bed.

Lori sniffed and then smiled. "I'll follow you up in a second." she promised. "I'm just going to finish eating and head off."

"Okay." Rosemary said, and headed up the stairs.

Lori finished and headed for the bath frowning at the fact that she had to out the water over. With a with she tried starting a fire by the fifth time she gave up and decided to have a cold bath.

Lori finished washing and hurried upstairs shivering a little. She dove under the covers next to her sister and pressed her cold hands to her sister's skin.

Rosemary gasped and shivered when she felt her sister's hands pressed against her. "Did you just bathe...in cold water?" She whispered.

"I couldn't get the fire going." Lori whispered back teeth chattering gentle. "So I just took it cold." she shrugged a little. "I'm clean at least."

Rosemary sighed. "Tomorrow I'll show you how, so you won't have to do that again." She said, scooting closer to her sister. "But for now, go to sleep."

"Deal." Lori smiled and slipped into sleep giving one last shiver before giving in. She woke the next morning with a groan and went to change. "Rosey wake up." she called to her sister yawning softly.

Rosemary grumbled when Lori called her, not wanting to get up. She was comfortable. But, she had a job now, and couldn't just sleep in. She got up. "Ugh...late nights and early mornings...are going to be difficult to get used to."

"Yeah they are but we can do this." Lori squeezed her sisters hand gentle then set to work on her hair. "There." she smiled. "Not bad for my first braid." she tucked it to her head with a clip. "What do you think?"

Rosemary beamed. "It's like you've been trained your whole life. You're a natural." She said. "Oh, could you do mine?" Work would be so much easier without her hair in her face.

"Sure." Lori worked on her hair spinning her hair into a bun with two small braids tucked in. "What do you think?"

"It's perfect!" Rosemary said happily. "Thank you." She turned around. "I should probably head downstairs. My shift starts soon."

"I'll be done for food soon." Lori smiled at her sister as she changed making sure not to mess her hair up. "There." she headed downstairs ate breakfast and then headed off for work.

Rosemary had already started her shift by the time Lori came down. She served her sister, and continued on, taking orders and staying busy.

Cal woke with the dawn, but waited a while, watching the sunrise, before waking his brother. "Up and at 'em, Alex." He said, shaking his brother's shoulder. He didn't wait to see if the other man woke up, however- he knew Alex would get up when he was ready. Instead, he got dressed and headed down for breakfast.

Alex appeared shortly after he had sat down and slapped him on the back of his head. "Stop waking me so early." he scowled

Lori left for the bakery after a short breakfast stretching as she went.

Cal just laughed. "Fine, from now on I'll let you sleep until noon and miss any chance you might have with the younger one." He said, gesturing to the young princess who was bustling about. "I'm off to do my job. You stay here and try to look less murderous, or she'll never wait on you." He got up and left, still chuckling.

Alex just grumbled and stared at the wall really needing coffee but to tired to call the girl over.

Lori got to work learning how to start a fire when the baker asked her to get the ovens started. After several failed attempts managed to get a fire started. Once that was done she started cleaning up the counters humming as she worked.

There was a lull in activity just when Alex was trying to hail her, and Rosemary went to him. "Good morning. What can I get for you?" She asked cheerfully.

Just has he had the day before, Cal went for a walk. He had taken several odd jobs around the town, playing the part of a traveler in need of money. Most of his jobs were placed strategically so that Lori would see him several times throughout the day.

"Coffee as black as you can make it and pancakes please." Alex mumbled around a yawn. "Make it two cups of coffee."

All the times Lori ignored him going about her own chores and errands for the baker who's name was Maude. Maude had sent her for a sack of flour and a sack of sugar when she went to lift them she nearly broke her floor when she dropped them. "Damn." she scowled.

"Coming right up. Try not to fall asleep on the table before I get back." Rosemary said with a chuckle, then went to get his order.

Each time Lori saw him, Cal studiously ignored her, making it clear he wasn't interested in pursuing her. For once it was not by design that he came across her just when she needed help. He had gone into the bakery to pick up a snack when he heard a bang, and saw that she had dropped two heavy sacks. He went to her. "I don't suppose you'll let me help you with those?"

Alex just snorted and let his head hit the table groaning a little. "I hate morning." he sighed.

Lori looked up and pouted. "I'll be fine." she grumbled picking one bag up grunting as she struggled to get it up the stairs.
