Yes, I am because I have never won before. I think I have a good chance this year but I am not going to expect more than the minimum of myself. If I can get past 30k I will be happy I think, because my record is 25.

I think last year I didnt achieve 50k, my first November with full time job. Only reached 25k, I think. This time I want to reach 50k. Though I can see that there are important deadlines for November.

Ahh, I'm sure you will do it Xuvie! Also, didn't your laptop break down last year?

Laptop not broken.
Wow, I had so many things broken since last year.
My HP desktop officially retire this April, my Seagate hard disk died of falling trauma and my Wacom tablet may have been delayed drowning.

Maybe it was somebody else? I remember that someone was saying that they couldn't keep up because their laptop couldn't save anything, I think.

Three more days, and I am woefully underprepared. Still, I think I've got a good shot this year. I do wish I had a laptop instead of a surface to use. The surface keyboard requires a hard surface underneath it, which limits my ability to sit on my bed or the couch and type...

Two (and a bit) days left for me, because time zones. I think I am prepared, story and character wise, but I'm still doing a little bit of worldbuilding and fleshing out so that my descriptions make sense.

I can't wait! I'm so excited, I don't have to work Sunday, so I can spend the whole day writing.

Right now I'm debating how I want to structure my daily goals. Should I have the same word goal each day, or should it be less on work days and more on my days off? Right now I'm leaning toward 2,000 words each day as my goal regardless of schedule. (I know that would have me done five days early. I want to be done early, or have a few days leeway if I get sick or something.)

2,000 a day is a pretty worthy goal! I'm not going to aim that high myself, but good for you!

Fight scenes are tricky, I'm not looking forward to the ones I'll be writing next month.

Fight scenes is tricky enough, but having 4 different fight scenes happen simultaneously is even more difficult.
:X Have to balance out the intertwine timeline... those cut in points are why I must do the time line... x.x

Ugh... I had a scene like that year before last. I ended up using post it notes with plot events to figure out the order in which I wanted things to happen. I need to get a laptop of my own, rather then the work one, so I can install scrivener.

Things happening in one straight direction, but narrating the scenes is not necessary following that sequence.

NUmericaca, use Scrivener too?

I've used it in the past on a trial on my brother's laptop, but I only have a surface from work which I can't install anything on, so I can't get use it right now. :C

That's bad luck. I love scrivener, but I find it's too distracting when I'm doing NaNo, so I'm using Word this year.

It's too easy to go "ugh, I don't like this chapter, I'll trash it and start it again." Scrivener is awful for my inner editor.

I delete from trash constantly because I hate full trash on the computer, it drives me nuts.

Because in word I have to scroll to see where my other chapters are, but in scrivener they're right there by my side, telling me to look at them.
