"Come on," Summer said, grinning a bit. "There's is no other reason to have ceilings this high."

Rose snorted quietly and shook her head. She did, however, rest her keyblade over her shoulder.

Mickey watched them both with no small amount of satisfaction. Oh yes, they'd do just fine.

After a few more moments, Summer finally turned back to Mickey.

"Okay," she said. She held her keyblade up horizontally in front of her with one hand. "Keyblade. Now what?"

"Now," Mickey said, "you help the worlds against the darkness. You'll have to seal off each world. The keyblades know how, even if you don't yet."

"And how do we get to these places?" Rose looked at him, raising an eyebrow.

"That's a bit trickier," Mickey admitted. "Something happened to seal this world off from the rest. The only one we were able to reach was yours, and even then, I suspect that that doorway won't open to me again for a while. But you might be able to get it open yourselves, now that you have keyblades. And your world isn't sealed off, so you should be able to go where you need to go from there."

"Okay, you're saying all this like we should know how to do it already, and we really don't," Rose told him. "How do you travel between worlds in the first place?"

"Ah, well--" Mickey looked a bit pensive at that. It wasn't something he'd had to explain before. "Okay. Follow me, I'll show you the door and you can take a crack at unlocking it."

Rose blinked but nodded after a moment. "Okay," she agreed. "Sure. Why not. What does it hurt." She shrugged and motioned for him to lead the way.

Mickey brought the two girls back to the room they had appeared in. There wasn't a door, per se, but there was a large, ornate mirror mounted on one wall. It seemed like a normal mirror at first glance, but as they got closer, it stopped merely reflecting and became more like a dark window, mist swirling serenely behind the silvered glass. The faint outline of a keyhole appeared, shimmering slightly.

"This is the doorway," Mickey said, gesturing to the mirror. "We summoned you through it, once we were able to get it open. You should be able to use it to get back to your own world."

Rose eyed it, her eyes a bit wider than normal. "Okay," she murmured. "So swirly portal hopefully not of doom back home. And from there, presumably to other places? Since that seems to be the whole point?" She eyed Mickey a bit.

Mickey nodded.

"That's the idea," he said. "Go ahead, give it a try."

Rose's eyebrows shot up but she focused on the doorway and lifted her keyblade. It started to glow gently, and the doorway reacted, shimmering and shifting until the image was of their apartment again.

"That's it," Mickey said, nodding a bit. "Go on, see if it worked. Touch the surface."

Rose hesitated for a moment before she touched the surface of the mirror. It rippled, and her fingers actually went through where the glass was supposed to be. She yipped and actually took a step back, because that? That was freaky.

Summer also stepped back at that. That was just freaky.

"It's alright!" Mickey said. "It's supposed to do that. You did it right!"

"It's still weird," Rose said, eyeing the mirror. "That does not happen at home." She took a deep breath. "I swear if this kills me I will come back and haunt you forever."

"I would go first, but I can't," Mickey said. "You're just gonna have to trust me on this one. You'll be fine."

Rose took a deep breath and stepped through the portal. Rather to her surprise, she fell out in her own kitchen, and spent a few moments wondering what the hell was going on.

Summer watched warily as Rose vanished into the mirror. The surface rippled a little once Rose had gone through, and the image of the kitchen began to waver. The silhouette of the keyhole began to materialize again.

"Wait, no, don't close," she said, bringing her keyblade up to point at it. The image stabilized again, and she cautiously touched the mirror's surface. She hesitated a moment longer before deciding 'fuck it' and stepping through to the other side.

Rose had moved enough that she was sitting at the kitchen table.

"So. Weirdest dream ever, drugs in my coffee, or improbable reality?"

"I'm leaning towards shared hallucination, myself," Summer ventured, getting up from where she'd tumbled to the floor. She looked behind her and only saw her partial reflection in the mirror that was on the wall of the hallway.

"Right. Shared hallucination, quite possibly from drugs in the coffee." Rose nodded. "Right. Good. I'm going to go finish getting ready for work. Because to do otherwise is madness."

Summer nodded. Before she moved out of the doorway, though, she held out her hand.

"I wonder," she murmured. She concentrated for a moment, and within a few heartbeats, the keyblade appeared in her hand in a flash of light. Her breath caught and she looked at Rose, eyes wide.

Rose was quiet for a few moments. "Well," she murmured, "I guess that rules out hallucination." Her heartbeat was very fast, and she was feeling a little faint, because this? This shit? Was so not normal, and not really okay.

"Oh shit that was not a dream," Summer said, staring at the keyblade in her hands. "That was real because this is an actual thing."
