I looked at Rockmelt once, but the screenshots made it look like it was way too social network integrated for me.

It does incorporate facebook but you can turn it off (or do what I do and just don't log in) I find it incredibly useful because it incorporates google+ so I get email updates right away, youtube, and I can monitor my webcomics without checking the site every 10 minutes. Like buttersafe does not update at the same tie every tuesday or thursday so it is very useful for it to say the comic is there and have a direct link to it (plus shows a tab so I get to know if I WANT to read it)
