The Shadow That You Are

Immortalized and Stylized
Your fake smiles are tiny replicas of my own.

I have become the symbol,
The master and you are the shadow.

Scrambling after my every word
My every thought is your bible.

Trying to fit your life close to mine...
But! There is a gap!

For you see I have caught on,
And I am not willing to let you be me.

I Fell Into

Sometimes I wonder where I am
Tumbling down a stairway with jagged edges
and splintered wood.

The days are long and the people consuming
I hope I am heading in the right direction.
Turning back would be a waste, right?

Today

I call out and hear my voice
it's the faintest of a whisper

words I dare not say
echo back to me

truths unspoken
are planned out unwillingly

hidden agendas
break me and shake me

shadows from the past
reemerge themselves.

Joking masks and pointing fingers
holler out my pains

to the world.

Here And Now

You, you are my air
You are my hope
The strength I lean on.

I hope I am all of those -
And much more to you

If not lets pretend.
Lets make believe that I can make
Everything better.

Do you realize how much I
Loose every time I cry to you?

Every whispered wish is another
Part of my heart.

Every sigh is another word
I could not say.

I hope we are together for
As long as I breathe
For as long as time goes on.
For as long as we are needed.

Wishing Tentatively

I am heart broken
And I am desperate
I am a fool again.

I tore the wings off.
Pushed them away
The responsibility was too much

Distant wishes
Were too far
And hopes far too high

Someday I hope to believe
My arms could reach.
Dusty wings will be worn again
