It's true. You know, you're wandering around and lookin' for kicks, only to wind up a wall-flower.

You'll miss the event if you do! Well, not the whole event. I'm glad it's several days so that I get a chance to hangout with all my friends online for the event.

Man, I'm glad I am entirely too lazy to work two jobs. College, managing my sanity, and working seems enough.

I saw earlier in the thread that you're turning (or just turned) 20; are you in college? If so, what are you going to school for?

Yep! Turning 20 tomorrow
I'm a (pre) nursing student for now, but I'll be applying for my actual nursing degree in November. It's highly competitive though... In my class alone, there are 430+ students competing for 72 spots in the nursing program. Intense, right?

Nursing program? That sounds pretty dooope. My buddy just did his paramedic training and is working on becoming an nurse. I'd like to see him be a physical therapist, but for each his own.
Medical training is a full time career. Even beyond your 40 or 50 hours that you'll be working, especially the schooling. But thankfully the cream of the crop rises to the top, so if you work hard, you'll get your reward.
Everyone knows the medical field is in large demand based on the fact that you can't be outsourced (good for you), but I imagine that 430+ will dwindle by the end.

Agh, it's a strain honestly Scrib - The lowest GPA they accepted last year was a 3.67... Although I am a good student, I still have to work to pay for schooling which takes away from the time I desperately need to study.
Hero: I hope so.. I mean, some of my peers are dead set on getting in.. A friend in my dorm last year literally spent ALL of his time in class or in his room studying. I only ever saw him in passing or at dinner. He declined every offer to join campus events or anything. It was .... depressing really

See ya, Chikuma!
I don't have that kind of dedication to anything, to be honest. I'm a bad student and prefer to spend my time doing things that I enjoy - like reading or hanging out online or writing. Lemme correct myself - the only thing I have that kind of dedication for is reading. :XD
I'm surprised they accepted a GPA that low.

Nacara ~ You sound like a smart cookie, but are you sure this is a program you want to go after? You sound a bit nervous about it. The medical field requires that level of dedication because literally lives are on the line. I work in food part-time while I go to school, if I accidently flub an order, the chances of someone dying are relatively low. However, that isn't the same for being a nurse (not to intimidate you). That is depressing that your friend is missing out on his college experience, but it is pretty admirable that he is so driven. Hopefully he won't burn out, that happens a lot.
