I've only met one: Isamu Fukui (he wrote the Truancy series) because he visited my class once and wanted to see who didn't listen to the homework by reading ahead. It was a pretty cool experience and I got a signed copy of a unpublished draft of his! And I also saw, but didn't personally talk to Gary Shteyngart (author of Super Sad True Love Story) because he was a speaker at my brother's graduation.

Have you ever met the man (or woman) behind the story? If so, who? Or if not, who would you like to meet?

I met Sherrilyn Kenyon, Carolyn Jewel (both at Comic Con), and...Mario Lopez if you count the time he promoted his "Knockout Fitness" book. I know I met a lot more at Comic Con because they kept giving me their autographed books but I don't know their names off the top of my head.

I have met zero authors that I like.
I've seen and chatted with like local authors or local books and whatnot like that though. But it isn't really something I'd cared about. Just small chit chat...especially when they look really bored. XD
I could have gone to see Sherrilyn Kenyon the other weekend when she was like an hour and a half away from here, but I had to stay at my grandfather's since he had just been released from the hospital and someone had to be in the house with him at all times.

I met Richelle Mead (she writes the Georgina Kincaid series, Vampire Academy series, Dark Swan books, and now Bloodlines as well) last year. She was really sweet! I was at the bookstore from sometime in the afternoon until 10-10:30 at night. I got there really early so I could sit in the front row, and then I waited to go through the signing line a second time because she could only sign three books at a time. (I had five. :P) It was so worth it!

I also met Jane Goodall when I was ten or so, I went and saw her lecture at a university with my grandma. I was so awe struck, she was my hero at the time! And of course I still really admire her.

I've met Christie Golden before. C:
It was at a Star Trek convention where I live (my dad made me go) and she was at a booth promoting her books.

She wrote a bunch of books (alot of them star trek) but I primarily recognize her as writing alot of the World of Warcraft books. I've read pretty much all of them. I'm obsessed with Warcraft, so yeah...
But she was really nice.

The one author I'd love to meet would be Brent Weeks, the author of the Night Angel Trilogy. D: He's a genius. I loveeee hiiimmmm.

I have met a few. Indeed it is somewhat difficult to go to a university and not meet any. My Favourite lecturer, Jeff Sluka has done some writing which I quite like. Although I still need to read his ethnography. Ivan Snook is someone I have met as he is the partner of a former co-worker. I have just read one of his essays which appeared in "Culture and Identity in New Zealand."

I've met one, but that's only because she used to be my teacher before she started writing. :D

She was my favourite teacher too. (:

I'd like to meet James Herbert. . .
