Misadventure: The Beginning

In the Beginning, the Printer created Yan. All warm and fresh, and smelling faintly of ink. Yan flew as it spit him out, spiraling down to the floor. Clearly, he was ready to have some fun. After a quick brushing, he was clean and eager to get into trouble with me.

I asked him what he wanted to do first, and well......he kinda gurgled and drooled a bit. From what I could interpret of the fit of coos and gurgles, Yan liked his new home and was ready to get into all sorts of trouble.

Wish granted.

Here it goes

After his cooing and drooling subsided a bit, Yan dove from my hands and into the chair, spinning around and around till he looked a little motion sick. I told him a little caffeine would help his tummy woes, and so I thought it best to take him to the kitchen.


"Weeeeoh! Spin ma!"

Day 1: In which too much coffee was consumed...

Innocently enough, I pulled out my new espresso percolator and made some cappuccino. Handing over the cup to Yan, he took one sip....then another. Soon, he had drank the whole thing down and was, well, a little wired to say the least.


"I mustache you"

After that, Yan bounced off the walls and all over the place. I had to coax him off the top of the fridge. It took 20 minutes, and all the while he blew raspberries at me and drool some more, all down the front, getting all the magnets sticky. Finally, I got him down with the promise of treats.

I forgot tiramisu has coffee in it as well...

"Om nom nom nom"

A few hours and several clean ups later, the sugar rush fled, and Yan's little paper body grew tired. I D'aaww at his sleepiness, gave him a face mask to block out any light, and tucked him into bed with some of my old stuffed animal friends. <3


"Zzzzzzzzzz"

Day Two: Hide and Seek and uh, "story time"

My mom was kind enough to babysit the Yan-ster when I went to work today, and when I got back, he was bouncing up and down with excitement. Apparently, she had a bit of a coffee incident with him as well. :shock: I suggested a game of hide and go seek to get some of his excess energy out, and the first place I found him was in the cupboard, trying to hide a bit unsuccessfully behind some tomato ketchup.


"No fructose!? Yan no like! Yan like fructose!"


After I pried him away from the ketchup, we settled down for a little story time. Yan didn't care for The Hobbit, he more prefered some of my Brian Froud faery picture books. I wonder why.


"Hey lady....can I have your number?"


Day Three: Baking!

Today Yan "helped" me make some almond bread. Then he "helped" me clean up the flour on the ceiling for two hours. But, we made a tasty bread and served it up with fresh cut strawberries and cream!


"Look, I made you goodies!"

But I knew what Yan REALLY wanted. So I promised him I'd cook him up something really special with lots and lots of meaty goodness. And then there was PIZZA!

Hehe. He is a bit of a handful.... But it's cool. Me and Yan are BFFs now ;)

Hehe Wulfy! I agree. I tried reading him the Dark Hunter books for bed time, but Yan just nommed on the edge of the book and got it all drool-y!
