Paper: It's been ok. I am hating one of my classes since we are starting debates, but it's fine.

And I am still rocking your art in my siggy. I don't wantto ever take it out, they are too cute.

I'm not doing too bad in my classes, and I did surprisingly well on my last speech (it's a public speaking GER).
Do you not care for debates, or is it just the class in general?
Personally, I cannot wait for summer. I'm almost goin' crazy.

I hate debates, and the class. Even though I am doing the best in this class.

I'm very fond of debates, but I haven't done one in a very long time. I'm sure that if I were to ever go up against anyone on a podium at this moment I would fumble terribly. I remember one boy starting out his argument with "Everybody sh*ts." It was absolutely amazing.
I believe the topic was about media censorship.

._. I don't really like debates. Debates are more about facts while I base my opinion on more emotional things. And emotional things usually can't be used in debates cuz not everyone agrees

I just don't like to go up in front of the class and speak. But I am in a group, so they can help me with what I need to talk about so I don't go up and look like a dumbass.

I never minded going up in front of class. I wanted to be in a musical at one point.

I always thought of debates as conversations, in a way.
For persuasive debating, which is what a debate is, you can use an emotional appeal. It's how the whole Roe v. Wade argument goes anyway; no one listens to facts, and rely namely on emotional appeal. At least one side does, hahahaha!

It's not too bad; teachers usually look for "good organization" above content.

But this one, we don't go back and forth and argue and stuff. We just say our point, the next team says their point, we say another thing. Like it's all planned conversation.

I like arguing... XD debates is too high quality for me.

Debating up in front of a bunch of people? I always found practicing really helped me. ^__^ I know it sounds really silly, but this was a really good tip from my debate coach when I was younger. Stand facing a wall and have a debate with the wall. Go through all your cards and points until you feel comfortable saying it.

Oooo.. how about tea served by a live giant pastel bunny! That'd be good too!

If you talk to a mirror you might get caught up with how you look and stuff. Lol. I know it sounds so silly. But a wall lets you concentrate on just what you're saying. I used to stand in a corner, argue with TWO walls!

hmm... MewMew, when I was young, I force myself not to be stage fright. I try to convert the shyness and nervous into excitement. XD
and now I am mostly getting use to it.

You could also try the age old idea of picturing your audience in their underwear!
