Things in the kingdom of Alana has always been peaceful, but over the last few years things have become rather uneasy. A small sect of magical beings (Wizards and the like), known as the order of Estolia, believe that magic should dominate the kingdom. Their ability to wield magic makes them better than everyone else.

The order of Estolia came into existance nearly twenty years ago as just a minor nuissance, bot over time their resolve has steeled and their number has increased. Now the entire kingdom seems to be in the middle of a civil war! Magic users opposing or siding with the order, non magic users hating the order and lashing out either just at the order, or at any magic user they happen across. Slowly the kingdom is being torn appart and no one knows what to do.

Then the unthinkable happened! The heir to the throne has gone missing. It's apparent that the sect of Estolia are behind it, but what can be done? Revealing the princes dissapearance would only destroy the kingdom completly! So in secrecy a small band of people are called to the castle. Their task is to find the prince and return him to his mother in complete safety before anyone discovers the truth.

This is where the roleplay starts.

Tracker
Username: Jayms_Fallen_Angel
Character Name: Tais Assosis
Character Age: 41
Character Species: Human/Elf
Character Weapon: Curved LongSword
Character Description: Tais has shoulder length brown hair and a child-like face. Her slender figure is somewhat on the short side, measuring a mere 5'1" in her boots. She dresses primarily in greens and black with feathers in her elongated, elfin ears. She has no concept of acceptable fashion and so she does show off a fair ammount of her flesh, not for vanities sake, but for ease of movement and to keep cool whilst active.
Character History:Tais was born to an Elfin father and human mother. She was born and raised in the Amara Forest where she learnt to track, hunt and survive on the Earths gifts.
When she was still a child, she happened across a young man whom had become seperated from his riding party. She had helped him, never knowing who she was, but proving that she was someone who could be trusted. She never found out that this was the kings brother and that event would come back to bite her when the queen was searching for a tracker she could trust to bring her son home.

As a half elf, she outlived her mother while she was still young. Her father however lives still, although he long ago returned to his people when the kindom began to break appart. Tais was never welcomed to them and had no desire to return with him.
Character Personality: A bit of a wildcard. Brilliant, independant, cocky and somewhat aggressive. But on the other hand she can be sweet and sensative and loving. There's a curiosity within her that wants to know everything about everything.

Character Name: Rohan Locke
Character Age: 26
Character Species: Human

Character Role: Magic User
Character Description: Rohan is a tall slightly slender young man with short wavy black hair. He usually wears simple padded clothing.

He, through family association and his magical expertise, is known as a strong sorcerer both within The Order and to the rest of the magical world, including the Alanan royalty. He had deep ties to The Order but believes that their recent action has taken things too far. Rohan intends to use his place in The Order to get the prince back.
Character Personality: Rohan believes what The Order believes, he was raised that way after all. Therefore, he's discriminative against non-magical beings. Though he's technically working against it, he is still quite loyal to The Order of Estolia's beliefs. Character Name: Saydahn Belarain (sai-dahn bel-a-raen)
Character Age: 27
Character Species: Human
Character Weapon: Glaive & wrist daggers
Character Role: Fighter
Character Description: Saydahn is tall, lean young man with a decent amount of hidden muscle underneath his skin. He tends to wear earthy colors which compliment his eyes and hair in the form of loose shirts and breeches. Nearly every day he wears some black leather boots he made himself.
Character History: Saydahn had to grow up quickly after his mother was killed by the order of Estolia for she had been taking a strong position against them. His father was unknown to the little boy, at that time, age 9. The farm which was his parents he inherited from that and he learned to grow his own food and keep the livestock in check on his own. Within two years of his mother's death, Saydahn's farm was raided by bandits. Thankfully he was at the village about a mile down the road at that time, selling vegetables, but when he came back, he vowed to learn combat to protect his home. From there he started to learn the art of the glaive from the smith of the village who used to be a soldier. From the street children, Saydahn learned of daggers and all sorts of stealthy movements. After he mastered the weapons at 20, nothing happened until the call to the palace.
Character Personality: Because of the death of his mother, Saydahn is relatively cautious about taking any strong position. He otherwise is relatively quiet, liking to express his thoughts through actions versus through speech. Also, Saydahn will not trust a person fully unless they gain it through some major act which changes his mindset. The only two people he trusted fully were his mother and the blacksmith.
Character picture: I don't have a picture. I like how words allow for the flexibility of imagination.

It was high noon when the two messengers arrived at the Amara forest, hesitating at the tree line, the two men exchanged worried glances. It wasn't everyday they were sent in twos, to a forest, with a warning to be careful. The larger of the two men glanced at his pocket where the summons lay hidden.

The second man shook his head and with a sigh the duo moved slowly into the forest, avoiding the path like they had been told. She wouldn't come to them if they used the roads. After mere moments the duo came to a startling realization that there was no noise. Drawing to yet another halt, the two men looked fearfully around. They wanted to go back. It wasn't safe here. They could feel something watching them.

Behind them a leisurly drawl made them jump and turn around ""Are you lost?" The voice had asked, but there was no one there. "The path is that way." Fearfully the two had looked up, and there sat in the arms of a tree was a somewhat distubing woman, pointing back the way they had come.

"We're here on the queens buisness. She summons you to the palace!" The first man replied nervously, pulling out the letter and holding it up to her.

"Leave it there." Was her reply "And get out." The men didn't need telling twice, dropping the letter, they ran for their lives. The sound of laughter at their backs. Tais jumped down from her perch, landing catlike on the ground below. She hesitated for a moment, then shook her head, she'd go to the palace. But it had better be worth her time...

A long, low whistle escaped her lips as she broke the seal of the letter. A moment later the roar of hooves could be heard approaching. As the large, chestnut stallion came into view she crumpled the letter in her fist and jumped onto the equines back. The horse didn't miss a beat as the duo raced past the half terrified messengers. Were they in a hurry? Not particulary, they just liked to go fast.

Still being high noon two more messengers were sent along the coast line to deliver the second message of the queen who is summoning a sorceress.

The messengers are wondering what could be up to have to be going by twos as they deliver these messages bestowed by the queen. Scared and a bit off beat the men has reached The home of of Assilsa for this is the woman all feared. Walking up to her door and about to knock Assilsa flings open her door and ask "Why hast thy come to my home to bring more torture and torment to my animals or to try and scare me away from thy lands I so love." studdering and shaking in fear one man bows and says "No Milady thy queen is summoning for you to come" with shaking hands he hands her the parchment message.
Assilsa takes the parchment and reads it quickly then turns her attention to the men and says, "What are you standing there for?" As they turn to leave they hear a noise and turn back and Assilsa has vanished.

At the palace the guards waited with baited breath. They had been informed that a variety of strange people would be arriving and to simply let them through to the main hall. This had led to a fair ammount of confusion amongst the men, but none dared to question their orders. The queen had been in a foul mood all day.

Milling around in groups the men questioned how they were supposed to do their job if they were to let people in without question? Surely this would lead to disaster?

The group nearest the gates paused, they could hear the fast, steady beat of hooves approaching. Turning to look at each other, they wondered who could be arriving so fast and whether they should stop him? Unfortunatly for them Tais had no intention of being stopped by anyone and didn't even slow down as she charged through the open gates, sending the guards scurrying for safety out of her way.

Her laugh could be heard as she leant close to her steads ear, whispering something to him. The horse came to a sudden halt at the steps leading up to the palace and Tais slipped off of his back, her fingers massaging the stallions velvet nose as she continued speaking quietly to him.

Recovering slightly from their shock, the guards began to approach.

The guards see a flash of light and then a young woman appears. You can hear the guards fear in their voices as they realize who the woman is. They do not hesitate and open the gates that will lead to the palace and hang their heads as they wait for her to enter.
Assilsa stops just a few feet inside the gates and then turns back to look at the guards and shakes her head as she knows why they fear her but don't understand why.She has never caused anyone any harm and only practices her magic when she is alone. She turns back around and starts the journey up to the palace doors when she sees Tias and then realizes that this has to be big to have summoned her as well.

Tais raised her head, casting a curious glance over the new commer. She smiled and held a finger up to her horse who tossed his head in reply? The guards hesitated before one approached the two women, not entirely sure which one was more odd. "The queen hast requested thy pressence in the main hall." He spoke slowly, cautiously.

Tais glare met his approach and he paused. Ready, waiting. He hated letting someone like that inside the palace. But orders were orders. And a sorceress? Lord only knew the consequences of that action.

Tais patted the horses neck and turned towards the palace doors. Her fingers resting tersley on the hilt of her sword. Too many people. She didn't like people.

Assilsa could see the concern in the guards expression as he spoke to them. She turns her attention to Tias but with not a word said She knew what Tias was saying just as if she had said it out loud. Assilsa gives Tias a glance of saying I wonder what all of this is about and why have we been chosen to the company of the queen.?
Drawing her attention back to the guard as he leads them to the main hall She scans the areas that surrounds the hall they are walking in curious and a bit on edge Assilsa trust no one here.

Seated on a rather large, ornate throne was the queen, a faraway look in her eyes as she gazed out of one of the windows. Hearing the trio arrive she looked up and waved the guard away. "Welcome Assilsa, Tais." She greeted warmly, although a slight strain could be heard in her voice "I am sorry to keep you waiting, but if I could just ask for your patience a moment longer. I did rather hope that there would be one or two others arriving." She smiled and motioned to the seats lining the hall "Please, make yourselves comfortable"

Looking at thy queen and seeing the dismay apon her face Assilsa can tell that this is truly important and wonders who the others are that thy queen is waiting on to arrive. Sitting apon the radiant red cushioned chair Assilsa Looks around thinking to herself and wondering what is so important that she and Tias have been summoned to the palace and who could the others be. Noticing how quiet it seems and that no one was rustling about nor saying a word Assilsa mind twirls in thought. This really can not be good she thinks as she watches Tias sit in the chair across from her.

A single messenger rode down a path towards a small farm. Everything was quite neat and in the condition which a farm should be in. Coming around a bend, a smallish house came into view. Burn marks were still present upon one wall while the one right next to it looked much newer than the rest of the house. He dismounted and walked over the small fence showing where the owner's land ended. Business-like, the messenger walked in a business-like manner towards the house and knocked on the front door. No answer. He opened the door. It was unlocked. Walking in, the messenger realized that the small fire was burning. Someone had been in there within the last minutes.

Suddenly a small blade was pressed to the throat of the messenger. He broke out into a sweat for this person had snuck up behind him silently and could slit his throat quite easily. "I have come to summon you to the palace. Details are in the scroll in my belt pouch." The messenger's voice quivered as he spoke and he dared not move. To his releif, the blade was withdrawn within a few seconds. At the same time, a hand reached to the pouch and withdrew the small scroll.

Quickly reading the contents of the summons, Saydahn walked into his house again, doused the fire, and grabbed his glaive from the corner of the room before walking back to the front door and closing it. He beckened for the messenger to follow him out of a side door and into a small stable. There he let out all of the horses to graze except for the rowan mare who would be his mount on the way to the palace.

"Give this to the smith at the village. He will know what to do." Saydahn grabbed a small token made for him when he was learning how to weild weapons. It had a prancing stallion on one side and a barn on the other side. It would tell his friend that he would be the one to take care of the farm when he was gone.

Without another word, Saydahn jumped onto the back of the horse bareback and rode off of his farm at a quick trot, heading for the palace.

Rohan read the formal letter that he'd just received quickly he then read again more carefully. For a while he just stared at the thing, siting silently on his large wooden desk. He was used to meeting dukes and members of the aristocracy through his family but...for the Queen to request his presence...

"Well," he tried to compose himself as he stood up. He didn't bother telling anyone where he was going as he walked out the door. He took a few running steps forward before magically propelling himself toward the castle. He stopped abruptly outside the castle gates to meet the gaze of two guards. He instantly fell into his regular procedures for when he met important people- the bows and introductions and whatnot. Even if they were just guards and it took a bit longer than he would have liked, he really needed to make a good first impression and he might as well start here.

The queen looked up upon hearing another arrival. She nodded to herself. Everyone who was comming would likely be here within the next few minutes. She only hoped enough of the people she had been led to believe were trustworthy cared.

Tais stood up from the chair in disgust. Having lived her entire life on the good will of the forest she felt out of her element here. Everything was too cushy and too grand. It felt wrong. It smelled wrong. It was wrong. In every way that mattered this place was something to be hated. She walked away from the chair and found a space against the wall where she could lean, resting her back and one boot against it, folding her arms. Daring anyone to reprimand her for it. Any excuse to leave.

Hearing the sounds coming from the hall beyond the doors of the main hall Assilsa stands up prepared for anything. Already uneasy of being in such a place and taken from what she is comfortable with she stands guard of any harm that can come from all of this.

It took an hour or so to reach the palace. Reaching the gates, Saydahn slowed his horse to a stop and looked at the two guards standing outside of the gates. They looked slightly uncomfortable. Others must have been summoned and they would not be the type those guards were used to dealing with. He skillfully dismounted and walked past a man going through the formal rituals of the court and into the castle, holding his mare's reins before giving them to a stable boy standing around waiting for such visitors.

Saydahn walked straight through and into the throne room. Before him there were a few other people who looked like they had been called by the Queen.

He walked off to the side and out of the range of vision of anyone just basically scanning the hall after seeing that the Queen had seen him and waited for any other guests.

Rohan was led away, he tried to look like he was observing the tapestries that lined the walls. Indeed, on any other occasion he would have been interested by the grandeur decor of the castle but right now he was more concerned with what he could possibly be needed for. He was sure he'd done nothing to upset any royalties.

When he entered the room he was slightly surprised to see that there were others there. They all seemed to be waiting for something, but they were all so different-and he certainly didn't fit in with them either- he almost wasn't sure if they were all here for the same reason.

Nevertheless, he bowed low before sitting in a seat equally as nice as the room it sat in. He glanced quickly at all the faces in the room-save for the queen's.

The queen nodded her greeting to Saydahn, looking around the room, she sighed, she had expected more. But she really could not wait any longer. She cleared her voice and began to speak. "Welcome my friends. I have asked thee here on a matter most urgent and only pray for your help." She paused and studied their faces. "Mine own worst fears have been met this morn when I found the princes bed empty save a note. The Order of Estolia have taken him." She paused, letting the news sink in. "I cannot openly ask for help, the kingdom is already at war with itself and this would simply destroy the fragile balance we have left."

She took a deep breath. "You each have proven your worth in one way or another and now I pray you will lend thy services to me in this time of grave peril and greater need." Her eyes desperatly flickered from one face to the next, imploring them to help her.

Assilsa Looks at the others and then back at the queen taking in all she had said. Wondering if she should help after all loving her land and having to deal with all the negativity of the towns people she wonders what her fate would be like after this whole ordeal is over.

Bowing before the queen Assilsa speaks in a soft voice.
"Milady, parden me if I seem a bit spectacle about this whole thing but I must ask what is thy out come of our future here? After all each of us that you have summond to help you are the ones who are looked down apon and misunderstood by all the people of thy town. So my concern is what is the outcome of our future?" I would like to know before I decide to go on such a quest to save the one that is dear to your heart.

The queen smiled sadly "I can not foretell the future, dear one. I have summoned those whom I trust with my sons life. As you say, my people misunderstand. You who have only ever wished good fortune upon others are feared for something I doubt you have ever even thought about. Tais is feared because the elven way is different to our way, and yet she will go to great lengths to help those in need of it. Saydahn is strong and just. Rohan has been a dear friend to the royal blood for some while now and like you he is feared by others. I do not know what the future holds if you fail to return my son, perhaps you can prove to the world that you are not to be feared? But if my son is lost to us? If The order are known to be responsable? There will not be a kingdom left." She sighed "If you think they hate you now, imagine what they will think then?"

She held something in her hands and now clutched it tightly, as though it would ease her pain. "There will of course be monetry recompense for your aid." She added after a slight pause.

Assilsa stands in thought for a moment before replying to the queen.
"Milady, I know that thee can not fortell thy future and forgive my stupidity. I will be honored to help fight for the freedom of your son and for the freedom of the land I cherish." Assilsa bows once more and before she stands she adds. " Milady thy money tis not important but thy freedom of your son our prince and our land tis more important than other as they can not be replaced if lost forever."

A grateful smile and a nod was the queens reply. She had hoped for that answer and only prayed the others would give a similar one. Her eyes fell expectantly upon the other assembled faces.

Tais sighed, brushing her hair out of her eyes. Her first instinct was to say no. She really had no interest in saving the kingdom or any such twaddle. These were human affaires and as such of no importance to her. Elves could take care of themselves.

However, the queen was right, if she declined and people learnt of it, she would have a lot of trouble to contend with. So she shrugged "Fine." She muttered. "Count me in."

His chair made an unpleasant noise as Rohan stood up abruptly, his face betraying his surprise and utter disbelief. He was no fool, he'd been quite aware of The Order's growing tendency toward violence, but this was beyond anything they'd done before.

He was glad the girl had started speaking, otherwise he may have gone against anything he'd ever learned about etiquette and actually questioned the Queen's judgment. He may have been distressed by their current means of protest but he'd been raised by The Order and had always had faith in their better sense.

No matter who it was that kidnapped the prince, he thought as he looked to the queen, I've been called upon. I've no choice but to help find our prince. He bowed low again before speaking, "Your Grace," he said clearly, "It will be honor to serve you." He hated the feeling that he was betraying The Order but he knew this was what was right. And he knew that, first and foremost, he was a member of this kingdom more than a member of The Order.
