"Sorry about him," Steve said as Bucky ferried drinks to the table the rest of the team had taken over. "He has no filter. Doesn't even know what a filter is."

Sim's lips quirked in an amused little smile before she shook her head and went back to work, wiping down the empty tables and making sure everything was in order.

"No problem," Ella said. "Give a holler if you need anything else."

"I will." Steve smiled at her, a little shyly, and left her a nice tip as he joined the rest of the team at the table. But he was still watching Ella on and off, unable to get her scent out of his nose.

Bucky nudged him.

"You smell it too," he murmured. It wasn't a question.

Steve nodded a little. "Yeah," he said quietly, glancing at Ella again. "Don't think she noticed."

"Not surprised," Bucky replied. He took a deep, slow breath. "But she smells damn good."

Steve made a quiet noise of agreement. "We need to talk to her more," he said. "Persuade her to let us try."

"We can do that," Bucky said. "Just keep coming back." He was quiet for a moment. "I've never smelled anything like her before."

Steve shook his head. "No, not even Peggy," he said quietly. "She smells... far too good." He shivered a little, trying to tamp down on the urge to take her back to the tower immediately.

"No kidding," Bucky agreed. He was also fighting the urge to grab the barista and Steve and hole themselves up for a while.

"Drink your coffee, it'll help, a bit," Steve muttered, bringing his own first cup basically right up to his nose. Because if he sat there too much longer with her smell everywhere he wouldn't be able to stop himself.

"Not much, everything in here smells like her," Bucky muttered back, though he copied Steve.

Tony, on the other hand, was trying to distract himself with his suit, running diagnostics and checking hardware. He could definitely smell the other girl, now, and it was making him antsy. He kept an eye on Bruce, too; if Tony was getting antsy, he couldn't imagine how Bruce was feeling.

Bruce had his eyes closed, his hands around his tea, and he was busying himself with the problem of pants. Because it was the first thing that came to mind, and something he and Tony had played with on occasion before. It was better than nothing, after all. Especially since the Other Guy was still rumbling.

Yeah, Tony could tell Bruce was definitely trying to distract himself, and that prompted him to action.

"Okay, so, awesome fight, go us, let's head back to the tower now, because we all definitely need to clean up," he said, standing up.

Bruce nodded after a moment and stood as well, keeping his pants up with one hand and gripping his tea with the other. There were still a few flecks of green in his eyes.

Steve stood as well, glancing at Ella one last time. Tomorrow. He'd come back tomorrow. When he wasn't covered in dirt and building dust.

Tony led the way out of the cafe, heading straight for the tower. It was easier to think once they were outside in the fresher air.

Bucky also glanced at Ella one more time, and followed Steve outside. He took a deep breath once they were out of the cafe to try to clear his nose.

Bruce relaxed a bit once they were outside, and relaxed further once they were at the tower.

Sim watched them go and shook her head. "Who woulda thunk," she muttered.

"What are the odds of them coming into our cafe?" Ella asked as she watched them go. "There have to be twelve Starbucks between here and the fight."

"Well the one did mention that they liked finding smaller places," Sim pointed out. "Maybe that's why." She twitched her nose and went to open the door again for a bit; all the smells were bothering her.

"True," Ella replied, nodding. She put on another fresh pot of coffee. "I wonder if they'll ever come back." She grinned. "Can you imagine if our grandparents knew that Captain America came into our little cafe?"

Sim giggled. "They'd be over the moon." She grinned and made herself an iced chai. "God, can you imagine if they do come back?"

"God we'd get so much more business," Ella said, making herself some tea. "So much more. Especially if people found out."

"Yes," Sim said with a grin. "That could be really, really good for us." And honestly, she wouldn't mind the eye candy.

"Yes it could," Ella agreed. She grinned. "We may need to expand the bakery a bit then."

Sim snorted. "I don't mind, you know I've been wanting to play with a few new recipes."
