Ah, I do know that song! Of course, Clannad. Guess I didn't know the title. They have Mordred's Lullaby in the recommended videos, too. It's been a while since I listened to that.

So hard to find decent ones without Asian friends D:

Tell me if you find a place that does good kare rice, Poet. I get tired of having to make it at home.

@Poet - Don't necessarily have to be Asian to know a good Sushi joint. That's one my husband's most favorite foods, and he's about un-asian as they come. XD

Too bad you don't live near the Grand Rapids MI area as there is a FANTASTIC joint I would highly recommend to you. We try to visit it a couple times a year.

Sorry I poofed... Cherry's thread thing swamped me XD

Well Lady Bigglesworth, I found the best restaurant in the area, and it has sushi/sashimi. Apparently Sakuma's is the restraunt that Boeing takes their Japanese representatives to so it HAS to be good...
Not sure if Everett is very far for you, but it's not that big of a drive for me :3

@ Izumi - That's true... but unfortunately I had to just do research instead.

Do let us know how it turns out, Poet! :) I'm curious.

Gosh Japanese sounds soooo freakin' fantastic right now. I might have to do a search for some recipes and whip up something the best I can for me and hubby.

And ARGGH I can't tell you how many times I've hit the 'previous thread' link instead of the post quick reply button my my ipad. >_>

Japanese food is something I hunger after right now, urgh.
Everett is too far away for me, definitely. Plus if it's that good, it's probably not going to stoop to curry rice. That's pure comfort food, nothing fancy.

I made a chicken tonkatsu style (chicken katsu or torikatsu? *shrugs*) and made it donburi style. It was good. A little dry, but that's because I tried to heat it up in the oven once I cracked an egg over it. Probably not the best idea. The problem is when you fry the already fried up chicken cutlet the breading tends to fall off. >_>

Haha I will tell ^^

Maybe one day Lady Bigglesworth, we can figure out the top Japanese restaurant in the whole area :D

As for curry... I only like golden curry and I like the home made kind... but when my Japanese teacher made it for us

I wonder how easy it is to make the home made kind. I use to buy the blocks of curry from Japanese/Asian supermarkets. You know the kind you heat up in a stock pot and add veggies/meat too. Their curry is very mild, but has a very interesting flavor to it. :3

I used to use golden curry, but I've taken to making it from scratch, as I can leave out the sugar and other preservatives. It's not much harder than making it with the pre-made roux, so. Still a bit of a work out.

Oh Lady Bigglesworth, they did indeed have curry. :3 (Was referred to as Home Made Curry in the menu)
It was very traditional I believe. If I knew the language well enough the person serving us knew the language I love hearing Japanese being spoken

Ohhh you don't mind sharing the recipe would you, Biggs? I'm all for making things rather than buying prepackaged/processed garbage and a nice light Japanese curry does sound divine.
