There're 13 items per row, I think. So just multiply the number of full rows by 13 and add on any that are on a partial row.

Faster way to check how many Gaian items you have: Go into inventory arranger. It tells you there. xD

It's not too bad in my opinion. I have an inventory of about 600 items and would have more if I stopped giving away some to friends eventaually.
